The serviceman listened to what we thought we needed (spraying everywhere) and then inspected our home. He recommended that we spray on the lower levels, and then identified a wet part of our basement that we hadn't noticed. He was a great source of information, and we didn't get the feeling he was trying to sell us more than we needed. Will definately use them again. (Since I haven't used perst control before, I have no frame of reference to judge price, but it seemed reasonable...)

I have had no ants for the past two ants since they started spraying. They have also closed up some holes in my home to keep squirrels and such out. They are professional and come out on time. The prices are fair.

I was exceptionally pleased with my experience with Ward. They gave me a short time frame for the technician's scheduled arrival (1-1:30 pm), and he arrived right on time. The technician was excellent. He explained to me what the bees were, what they were doing to the wood, and what he would do to take care of them. He even explained that I did not have to use professionals (but that if I used over the counter chemicals from the store, I likely would not kill the eggs). He was in and out within half an hour, and I have no more bees.
Description of Work: I had carpenter bees on my deck, and I called Ward to get ride of them.

I started by sending a request for service through Angie's List and did not get a response. I called and set up for an initial visit (what's interesting is that I see someone else recently paid $160 and I paid $225) The person who set up the appointment was helpful and professional - no complaints there. On the day of the service, the gentleman arrived on time, but didn't seem to know what he was specifically there for. I told him ants, and he began spraying anthills in the yard (I should also mention that we went with American because the listed that they had "green" options on Angie's list and I told the guy I made the appointment with that I was interested in this option). The guy who came said nothing about this and just started spraying in the yard. He was very nice and accommodating, but he did not seem very knowledgeable. When he got into the house, he began spraying a dissipating foam around the windows and where we had indicated that we had seen ants. We asked a few times where they were coming from and he never gave a clear answer and didn't seem to make much of an effort to find out. We told him that we were a bit uncomfortable not knowing what he was using because we have a dog and he seemed a little hesitant in confirming that what he was using would not hurt the dog. He kept saying that after 30 minutes, everything would be fine, but when we explained that, in the kitchen, the dog often licks the floor (as many dogs do...) he was not extremely reassuring it would be ok. We told him that we had a lot of ants in our dishwasher, he had no idea where they might be coming from and offered to spay what I assume was poison that killed the ants (as that's what he had been using everywhere else) into our dishwasher, but we declined...didn't seem like a very good idea. While we have seen fewer ants in some areas of our house, we still have them in our dishwasher. When we explained to the guy that we called them because we were interested in their green options, he didn't understand what we were talking about. About a week and half ago, I received a response to my initial request for service through Angie's list asking if we would like to have them come out for an initial service. I wrote back explaining that someone had already come out, but that I was not satisfied with the service. The gentleman that I initially spoke to on the phone wrote me back offering to have someone else come out and I said that would be fine, but I have yet to hear back and that was about a week ago.

My problem with them is they never show up. The first time they were going to come, they didn't show up the entire day. I called them, and they said, "Oh, we have you scheduled for the next day." It took about four more calls for that guy finally to arrive the next day. Once here, the guy was extremely nice and professional. He told me to call them to have him come back in two weeks. I did. He was supposed to come on Friday before 1:00. Well, guess what? When I returned home from my doctor's appt., he had left a message that he was here and where was I (this was, of course, after 1.) I don't know the cause of this disorganizational problem in their company. Everyone is very nice, especially the guy who came. I just know I still have cockroaches, and the company hasn't shown twice. I will probably call them tomorrow and give them one more chance just cause I don't want to look for someone new.

I rang American Pest after seeing the ratings on Angie's List. Spoke with Drew and described my home and the issue I was having with Ants. He arranged for an intial service for the weekend and asked if I wanted a triannual service, which I accepted. RJ came to the house and he was polite and professional, he traced where the ants were coming from and even assisted with me moving the fridge out and cleaning under it. He then treated the rest of the house and exterior where he also found the start of a wasp nest which I hadn't noticed and removed it as well cobwebs he found. The service was excellent, he came within the time window and explained to avoid washing the interior areas treated for at least 2 weeks to ensure it's not diluted. I would highly recommend their service.

They have been marvelous. We were so impressed that we put them on and they do pretty much everything that we need them too. We have a contract with them and are on retainer, so we pay every month. They come every two months and in the summer they also do the mosquito treatment. We had a mouse problem which is the reason why they came first. They are just wonderful in following up and whenever I had questions or if I could hear something and thought that they were still there. They adjusted traps and they were really wonderful. They were a little higher than the other company we had, but I think their price was reasonable otherwise my husband would not agreed.
Description of Work: We signed up with American Pest for a regular check up on everything. The last time they were here was a month or two ago.

Good overall experience. We have tried to eliminate the spring ant invasion several times in the past. This company took care of the problem in one visit.Very professional and pleasant peiople. Chose them particularly for their "green" products and phiopsophy.

They killed a lot of ants but they kept coming back. They came back three or four times and each time it got better but I?m not convinced I?ve seen the last of these ants. They offer a 60 day guarantee but that?s run out now so I?m considering another service. They were very responsive and the guy seemed skilled but they didn?t get rid of the ants. They weren't ever late and they actually came early a couple of times although early can be a difficulty as well.
Description of Work: I had an ant problem and Ward Pest Control sprayed and dusted all of the wall cavities.

I am shocked over your comments, which in our opinion frankly, border on racism. Both technicians who provided service to take care of your mice problem are pest management professionals. The first has been in the United States since 1984 and has spoken English as a second language for 36 years. He passed the state-regulated exam given by the Virginia Dept. of Agriculture and Consumer Affairs and became a Registered Technician in 2003, and then tested and became a Certified Technician in 2006. He studied and passed a Virginia Pest Management Assoc. course and became a Certified Wood-Destroying Insect Inspector in 2006. He attends annual re-certification classes to keep his licensing up to date. He has worked for our company since 2003. The technician who did the follow-up visit has been in the United States since 1994 and has spoken English as a second language for 37 years. He passed the state exam and became a Registered Technician in 2007. He is eligible now to test to become a Certified Technician, and will be doing so. He has worked for our company since 2007. The Member did not speak to the point of the effectiveness of our treatment. The first tech was in the home 1 1/4 hrs. He sealed possible points of entry (gaps and holes) with Stuffit and Liquid Nails, set 10 snap traps and baited. On the return visit 4 more points of entry were closed and 4 snap traps were reset. Over 2 months after our last visit to The Member we have not received a call from them complaining about our service or our technicians. Our company is very approachable and invite and welcome personal feedback from our customers - new and "old".

Came on schedule and explained what he planned to do, Very personable, patient and informative. He filled around all outside vents and cracks mice could come through. Also laid traps. I liked that he took action on the first visit. Also plan to use the service to prevent the annual invasion of springtime black ants! Mouse was caught and there's no evidense of others.

We had field mice in the house... for that, they put traps around the house and in the attic and some baits outside. Apparently, we had gotten all of the mice BEFORE they came because we haven't seen any evidence of mice visiting and none have been caught in their traps. We also had Odoriferous House Ants.. they seem to love our house and return every fall and stay till it's warm in the spring. I have severe allergies and we have a bird. so they are restricted about what kinds of sprays they can use. The technician used some spray that doesn't diffuse into the air and put chemicals outside around the house. Unfortunately, the ants are still here (as with two other companies), but they said if the bird and I leave the house for a few hours, they will use a more effective spray. Update:(sorry for the delay) Never caught one mouse on any of their traps. Still have the ant problem. None of their remidies worked. Since then, I searched the house, filled holes/crevices with foam spray and had no mice the past winter. Never had a problem in the attic, where they insisted they were passing and living. Nothing has eradicated the ant problem.

The technician arrived at 8 and took a look. He set some traps, but said he would have to order the Stuff-It he needs to fill in the gaps. What? That is why I was calling them. So several days later the office calls back to schedule his return. The earliest is on a Monday, a full week after the first visit. This time my wife stays home. They call me Monday morning to say the technician called out. I told them my wife arranged to stay home for this and could they please send someone. They did. They sent a termite guy. He didn't know what to do for mice. He called the office to schedule the original tech to come back. That was set for today at 5. Today (wednesday) at 4 they call and say "hey we can schedule Rey for Friday" which is a surprise since I expected him in an hour. Total fiasco. I gave up on them, and now called American Pest. They are sending someone tonight, so I'll review them after they come.

Triple 'S' did a great job. Their crew showed up on time, and even though it was cold and raining they still managed to get the new gutter installed. The price I was quoted was exactly what I was charged. FYI, all the other contractors I contacted (from Angies List) provided proposals that were twice as much. I would highly recommend Triple 'S'.

My experience was good. They were able to come out right away. I had a tennant moving in, so I had a couple issues that needed to be fixed right away.

After the initial visit, they would never notify us when someone was stopping by. The only way we would know that someone had come by was that there would be a note left with a bill. We called a number of times to request a heads up before someone would stop by but the company never changed this practice. The billing is a disaster. We received a bill in January because the company said they forgot to bill us the prior September. Billing mishaps such as this were common. Their services were not worth the hassle of the jumbled billing and poor ongoing service. I strongly do not recommend.

Our records indicate that our automatic notification system was effectively notifying you of upcoming services and that you have taken advantage of several additional service calls (free of charge), so we don't understand at this point why you would report this information falsely. We make every attempt to notify our customers in advance of each and every visit by offering the choice of an automatic email or telephone call reminder. Our records indicate that you were in receipt of our automatic phone reminders per your initial request. As for your complaint regarding our billing practices, we allow our customers to choose the frequency of our billing. In your case, we were on rotation to bill quarterly (Sept., Dec., Mar., June). Unfortunately, there was one automated billing system error in Sept., as you stated. At the time of your next billing in Dec. our system informed us that your Sept. invoice remained unpaid (because of the error), which we attempted to correct at that time. This resulted in a bill in January. We apologize for any frustration and confusion this may have caused you, but we have made every attempt to explain and remedy this for you as per our phone conversation yesterday (Jan. 20, 2010).

They were great. They came out on a short notice, worked quickly and we thought their prices were relatively good. It was a positive experience and we haven't had any problem with the chimney ever since. They did everything we could ask them.
Description of Work: We had a raccoon living in our chimney and they took care of it. They also put a new cap on top of our chimney to keep future raccoons out. They did this work probably in June or July because we moved into this house in May and it wasn't long after we moved in.

Went extremely well. I really liked their professionalism and approach -- don't feel as if they would try to do a procedure that would cost more than it is worth. Good explanation. I am impressed with their diligence in repeatedly trying to solve the problem, even though the 3rd visit found a number of things that the first 2 visits couldn't find. Though I did purchase more than I thought I would, I feel that they are very trustworthy.
Description of Work: Hired them to get rid of a dead animal under the house. They've already been 3 times and will be coming a 4th to find where the animal gained entrance and to try to remove. I also signed up for their 4x yearly visits to block off insects during the various seasons. They set up their first termite inspection & traps, as part of those visits.

I spent a lot of time talking to the folks in their office about the problem and explained clearly what was needed to be done. The technician that they sent was very nice but they sent him completely unprepared to deal with these aggressive insects. They sent a guy who usually did their rodent work in high-rise apartments. I ended up having to give him protective equipment that I had with me. He was diligent and he really tired to get rid of the insects. It’s just that the technician didn’t know what to do. He did a good job but that was because I had done a lot of research just to figure out what was to be done ahead of time. I was very concerned for him because he was really freaked out; he did a good job but he was really scared. I think it is a family-run operation, which was one of the reasons I picked them. The price was as they had stated. They pride themselves on their website saying how advanced they are and that the guy who owns it is a scientist. I also did not get back to them to explain what my problem was because the problem was basically resolved. The bugs stayed alive for a few more days and then they eventually died or they built a new nest some place else. The guy who was supposed to show up called to say he was going to be 40 minutes late but this guy showed up on time. So apparently there was some confusion in the office. The technician was quite responsive but the office was not. I probably would not use them in the future. I would find someone else to do the job.
Description of Work: We had a very serious yellow jacket problem underneath the ground, and so we used Innovative Pest Management to take care of that.
