Multiple preventative pest service visits over 18 months. Techs were always courteous and professional. Techs arrived late about 25% of the time. Treatments generally seemed to be effective. Biggest complaint is inconsistent approach to pest control. We asked techs to treat for roaches and silverfish. One tech would apply a certain treatment (a certain kind of spray and traps, but three months later the next tech would take a very different approach, and yet another approach three months later by a different tech. We would ask the techs to explain the difference and the tech would say the last visit's approach "wouldn't make a difference." This was - to say the least - not confidence-inspiring.

I signed a year-long contract with American Pest, which stipulates an initial visit at $229 and subsequent bimonthly visits for $89. My initial visit was on a Saturday (7/21), and I was told that I'd receive an e-mail notifying me of the next scheduled appointment in 60 days. The pests subsided but came back again, particularly in the kitchen, and I called to see whether we could schedule our next visit sooner than 9/21. This is when I learned that Saturday visits are not usually scheduled and that my next appointment had been scheduled for Tuesday, 9/11. The difference between a weekday service and a weekend one is substantial, and I wish I had known that Saturday scheduling would be not be offered. I also wish that I had known that American Pest scheduled my next appointment immediately, rather than a week beforehand. I did eventually receive an e-mail telling me that the appointment was Tuesday the 11th, but that notification would have been too late for me to have made arrangements to be home from work to meet the technician. Now I know to beware that the company may schedule appointments 10 days away from the 60-day interval, which also would have been good to know up front. The technician, when he arrived, said that I should have emptied out the cabinets so that he could spray. The first technician had used a gel-based insecticide, so I didn't have to move anything the first time. Again, an important service change between the first and second appointments. If there were a rating for communication, I would mark that as poor for this company. That said, the work seems to be okay (not great), and anyway I'm locked into a year contract, so I will have to use them at least a few more times. I hope things improve. I give them a B because the technicians seem nice and helpful (albeit inconsistent) and the customer service representatives have been polite about their company's (seemingly) changing policies.

I called on a Tuesday after we found our 5th baby rat snake in our (finished) basement -- but the earliest their snake guy could come was Friday. So while we waited I did everything I could think of -- filling crevices, replacing grilles over dryer vents, putting up glue traps, etc. We had one more snake, but the by the time the guy came we hadn't seen one in 2 days. Nevertheless, he did a VERY thorough and knowledgeable circuit of the whole inside and outside of the house, checking for points of ingress, evidence of other pests, and providing lots of information about how to deal with this kind of thing. Turns out I had done virtually everything he would have either recommended or done himself, and there was not much for him to do. Therefore this qualified as a free consultation. He gave me a handful more of glue traps from his truck, and that was that. I would definitely use them again in a similar situation, although I would hope in a real emergency that they could come sooner than 3-4 days. The young man was clearly extremely knowledgeable about snakes and other wildlife.

They are very knowledgeable and patient.

The technicians are well dressed, well groomed, polite, and professional. The price is in line with the competition. They are also very punctual and have excellent response time.

They are great! I would recommend their services. When we had additional ant issues they came right away to fix it.

They always come on time and flexible with scheduling. They are easy to deal with.

Once, we had a yellow jacket's nest. They came out right away and took care of it. They have been responsive. They have also been very good with following my directions. As far as I know the termite monitoring is working properly. They only problem I have is they give you a day time frame for when they will perform the regular service instead of a shorter block of time. Someone has to perform way above average in order for me to give a grade "A". However, we are generally happy with the service and our continuing with our contract.

They do a thorough job when they come. They only problem is they have limited weekend hours and no evening hours. I have to take off work for the appointments.

I got this service as an Angies list super deal. It has been a super deal. They send reminders of appointments and show up when they are supposed to. They are very responsive to any pest problems we may have. I have renewed my subscription for another year.

Unbelievably poor. Upon moving into my new home, I contacted Triple S to do an initial consultation and spray that Saturday between 8 am and noon. At about 11 am the morning of the scheduled estimate, I was growing concerned that perhaps something had gone awry. I contacted the company and was informed that they had no record of my appointment. I was told that they had one individual working that day but that he would not be available to come to the property until 1pm. I opted to wait the additional two hours for the service to be completed that day. Approximately one half hour later, I was recontacted by their dispatcher stating that the person who had originally taken down my appointment had erroneously entered it as August 8th as opposed to September 8th. I requested a first month's discount on services in exchange for this inconvenience but was informed that the staff currently present were not authorized to grant such a discount. I inquired as to the arrival time of the sprayer and was told that he was leaving Springfield, VA at 1200 and should still arrive at 1 pm. At 1245pm, the individual had still not arrived nor called and as such I decided to call the office again. I was met with an automated message system stating that they were closed. I waited...and waited...and waited and finally at 1:30 pm I left my property to run the errands I had waited all day to complete. Ultimately, this company failed in the following: 1 - to properly record my date of service; 2 - to offer compensation for the inconvenience; 3 - to contact me that the service provider was not going to be coming for an unknown reason; and 4 - to not actually show up. I know I may be only one customer among many, but I refuse to pay a services company with no professionalism and the inability to even meet a scheduled appointment.

We could not have been happier. All of our questions were answered and all treatment options were explained.

They email me before they come. The only complaint I would have is that they give you large window of time to expect them.

Very professional on the initial visit. After that, a courteous pre-schedule and the treatment is conducted with note left on door. No pest problems since the 1st treatment. Happy with service and would recommend and use again.

Great professional service.

I found a few trouble spots around a door frame, so called Ward Pest Control to schedule an inspection. My initial point of contact was great - a kind, woman's voice answered and subsequently put me on their schedule that worked perfectly for me. I was thrilled when Chris showed on time (maybe a minute or two early) and inspected not just the area of concern but the basement and 1st floor of the house (inside and out). All clear! No termites, but water damage caused by clogged gutters and carpenter beas on my fence. There was no charge for the inspection! While Chris was here, he took the time to educate me on what to watch for (and where) and how to prevent termites. Should there ever be any termite or pest issues or I need a termite inspection for the sale of the house, I will most definitely call Ward Pest Control.

They were always on time, friendly and knowledgeable. I would definitely recommend them to others!

We contacted American Pest for termite extermination. We also signed on for their annual pest extermination which gets rid of all bugs, pests etc. They were prompt in their response to our request for service and when a follow up visit was needed, they arrived on time. Overall we are pleased with their service. I listed n/a for quality because it has been too short of a time to tell if the extermination worked (though, we have no reason to believe it hasn't worked).

They sprayed everything outside. They got all the hornet's nest and all the good stuff taken care of and I signed up for yearly service plan.

The amount I paid them was a part of my condo fees. They were easy to schedule I think. They were the best ones that came within a few days after scheduling us or meeting with them. I didn’t really pay anything and everything was good.

American Pest has been very responsible and accommodating even considering that they have been to my house a couple of times to treat for spiders (I live in a rural area where spiders seem to thrive). Their service has been great - I would highly recommend them.

We've been using them for 10 months. They are fantastic. They seemed to know exactly what we needed and they took care of the problem we were having. We have a yearly maintenance agreement with them. All of their staff that has been out has been professional. We are very happy.

We like the fact that they use non poisonous methods. We are charged a yearly fee which covers termite inspection and prevention for a year.
