It is 5 months of service and so far we are 1 or 2 months in. It is 5 treatments, one per month for the next five months.

I have had American Pest Services for approximately a year at this point and I am very pleased with their services. I initially contacted them due to termites in the house and they have worked quite diligently to remove the termites. It proved to be a more protracted process than they originally thought but they have worked through it and we now seem to be making progress towards ridding the house of termites. They have also been helpful with ants in the house as well as mice coming in the house when the weather turned cold. I have especially been quite pleased with the employee named Corey who has always been responsive, knowledgeable, and pleasant. Not that one wants to need an exterminator but should there be need, I recommend this company.

Every single person we encountered with Ward was professional and very helpful. Our problem was long-standing from a previous owner and very entrenched so it took a variety of tactics but the team was prompt and aggressive in finding cost-effective and speedy solutions from opening to walls to capping open pipe and effectively diagnosing the root issue before our plumber figured it out. They had good strategies for catching stubborn rats and had a very comprehensive, professional approach. They were very very generous in only billing for successful service. We could not be pleased. If you have ANY pest problems, call Ward/Innovative. THey out-perfomed every one else we tried by miles. Cant say enough good things about them.

I contacted the provider on Sunday evening via email. They responded on Monday am via email asking that I call the office to schedule an appointment. I called the office around 9:40 am and spoke with a woman who explained that the two people that I would need to speak with were on the phone and busy. She offered that I could wait for them to finish their current call or provide my phone number and they would return my call when they were available. I left two phone numbers and disconnected the call. At 4:00pm I hadn't heard from anyone so I called the office back to which I received and answer by an answering machine stating the hours were 8-5pm and that if this machine picked up they were busy with other people. I left a message on the machine, leaving a detailed message that I had called earlier and was hoping for a call back. Today, the next day at 11:35am I still have not heard back from this company, via email or at either of the two numbers I provided to the direct person at 9:40am yesterday. Very disappointed in this company's customer service or actually lack there of.

Mohamed allowed me to make notes of every possible path (mostly masonry holes). Ward scheduled the visit on a weekend for my convenience. Mohamed climbed a ladder to inspect for possible entranceways. Mohamed was patient when I had to meet with other contractors that had arrived. I will definitely use Ward for any future pest issues.

The bottom line is they were professional, not pushy as salesmen, and they treated our house, both interior and exterior for ants. I think we had this done in early August, and we never saw any ants for the rest of the year. I was a bit reluctant to get the interior treated, but it left no odor or any signs, and apparently was quite effective. I was skeptical that the treatment would work or last long since I knew we had ants in lots of locations in the house, and I was aware of several places where they entered. I was hoping to be home when they came to show them those spots, but I couldn't make it. But as mentioned above, the treatment was very effective. So I think they knew what they were doing and did a great job. If we have an ant problem again, I'll definitely use them again.

The technicians are good but the office staff is very inadequate. Prearranged appointments--even of weeks' standing--are changed at the last minute, and phone contact is difficult. Uncertain as to whether we would use again.

Initial inspection in August 2014 went fine. Good tech and apprentice, and they did a thorough inspection (no sign of termites). AmericanPest sent annual renewal invoice in August 2015, which we paid. I had to call them in October to schedule our 2015 annual inspection since they apparently don't initiate those inspections, and an appointment was set. I even received an email confirmation sent the night before the October 2015 visit. On the day of the annual inspection, they were a no-show, with zero communication why. I received an "oops!" email response days later after I had sent an email to them. I now have serious doubts they'd show up to treat for termites when needed since they were a no-show for a simple annual inspection. We'll be searching Angie's List for another company.

To get an A, they should have done follow-ups. The cost was very expensive. Professionalism means doing what they said they were going to do in a courteous, polite manner. They took care of everything.

These guys are fantastic. We have been using them for months now. $99 quarterly and will revisit for anything you need. We had a mouse get in, they came to set traps. I saw a cockroach, they came right back out to address. These are all aside from the regular visits provided by the service. They are very customer service oriented. They let you know when they are coming. They are professional. Worth every penny!

Jim and Donna Ward are a family run business. It shows! It is hard to find people who are honest and will tell you -- you DON'T need help, and what you DO need help with! I had various termite inspection companies come out and told me I needed all kinds of work -- up to $1500 in a quote. Called Jim for sounded fishy. AND sure enough -- Jim said no termites! If you want someone you can depend on -- call Donna and she'll send Jim! Truly a wonderful company.

The appointment process went well. Mohammad was the technician who performed the inspection, removed the bird nest, screened a few vents where squirrels and birds had entered my attic and sealed some cracks in the foundation where pests could enter my house. Mohammad was very profession, knowledgeable and prompt. He explained everything he was doing including identifying areas where rodents and birds could have entered my house. He checked the bird nest for signs of eggs/babies. He removed the nest which was quite large and showed me the area he had cleaned. I was very pleased with this company and especially, Mohammad.

We switched to Ward after having issues with a previous company not calling when they were supposed to, showing up unannounced, and not respecting the fact that they were in our home. (Entering a room where a child was napping, etc.) We have NEVER had any issue with Ward. Their communication is excellent, their technician is courteous, friendly, and appropriate. Additionally, the recurring mice issue we had when we were with the previous company was finally solved by Ward. They found and closed the holes that were allowing the mice to enter, at no additional charge. If the problem had persisted they would have put down bait boxes, which would have incurred additional costs but was not necessary. They are also constantly mindful of the fact that we have small children and pets, and have made sure only to use products that don't endanger them. (No poison for the mice, for instance, because of the risk of the cats eating one.) If we have an issue between visits, they return and it is covered under the quarterly service contract. I wold highly recommend Ward to anyone who wants their home to be and remain pest free.

Recently, I was required to obtain a termite inspection of my premises with regards to a VA loan. The first company wanted $359 and I refused their services. I then got on Angie's List and found Ward Pest Control. A gentleman named Jim came out all the way from Falls Church, VA to Lanham, MD. While he was an hour late, but it was understandable as the Pope's entourage was coming through and traffic was snarled all over the area. Once Jim came, he performed a very thorough check of the outside foundation of my house and proceeded to into my basement where he performed the same service. After that, he proceeded to check the first floor quarters. Jim, of Ward Pest Control, was at all times very professional and conducted a thorough review (which I passed with flying colors). I believe that Jim is a man to be counted on and would call upon again should the need arise. The price was quite reasonable ($75) and I would definitely recommend Ward Pest Control and Jim to anyone who might need their services.

I researched them on Angies, contacted them for an inspection ($150, $99 for Angies), and scheduled a day and time. Matt arrived in the agreed on time window, put boot covers on in the house and, did a thorough inside and outside inspection. He answered all of my questions fully and patiently. He discovered some old infestation in the garage and a live infestation in a tree stump close to the house. He recommended a bait and quarterly re-inspection program which I accepted. He arrived on the scheduled day and time and carefully installed the bait stations around the perimeter of the house.

I was happy all the way through the process. I was quite upset about the mice throughout my kitchen area and ants all over the house. As soon as I began to work with the company, I felt better. They came promptly, checked out everything, gave me an estimate and took care of mice and ants and set up preventive measures. I personally like that there were women service people and that they were very clear about what was needed. I just had an all around good feeling about them. They were very effective and will highly recommend them. I set up a quarterly annual contract because I felt it is important to control pests before they get out of hand.

The owner, Jim Ward, thoroughly inspected inside and outside after a recent occurrence of termites in a lower level shower threshold next to an outside wall, partially underground. Seeing no further evidence of termites inside the house, he proposed a treatment across the back of the house near the foundation. It was refreshing to not be pressured into regular or whole house treatments for a problem that had happened once in 45 years in one location. The technician was prompt and thorough and moved heavy items away from the foundation before treatment. Altogether a good experience.

I have had a pest control contract with the same company (Home Paramount) for more than 25 years. Among other services, they do an annual termite inspection. I?ve been happy with their service until now, which is where Ward enters the picture. During my termite inspection, the technician discovered that I had a mouse infestation in my attic. The recommended action was to eradicate the mice, pull out and replace the attic insulation, and seal all points of entry. I was told their usual price for that service was $6/square foot ($14,400 for my house), but since I had been such a loyal customer, they?d do it for $4/square foot ($9,600). When I said that sounded very high for the work to be performed, they brought the business manager out to my house to negotiate. He brought it down to $3.25/square foot ($7,800). I asked if I could finance a portion of it. We filled out a credit application and he called their credit provider. I asked if I could get an interest-free loan for a specified period of time. What the loan company offered me was 6 months credit free and 12.9% after that. I told the credit person he was crazy, no deal. I told the Paramount biz manager that I?d go to my bank and see about a home equity loan and get back to him. The drastic price reduction from $14,400 to $7,800 set off some warning bells for me, so I decided to get a second estimate. So I called Ward for a 2nd opinion. Mohamed came out to do the estimate. When he got up into my attic, he started laughing. ?You don?t have a mouse infestation.? At worst, I only had a couple mice, and he saw no evidence of recent activity. Any problems could easily be solved with traps, and there was no need to change the insulation. Thank you VERY MUCH Warn Pest Control! I?d give you an A+++ rating if I could. And shame on you, Home Paramount.

I loved that I was scheduled the day after I called. The person who coordinated the service, Jolene, never emailed k9 inspection information requested pertaining to the quality and process. When I called back the next morning. I spoke with Jolene again and let her know I didnt receive the requested info on k9 inspections. That info was not emailed to me. The k9 handler was nice and the actual k9 inspection was completed in mins. I was concerned that it took under 5 mins for the k9 to go through my 2 bedroom apartment. No bed bugs were detected but I still wonder if enough time was spent (I stepped out of the apartment while the k9 performed the inspection as recommended by the handler). I recommend you stay to observe so you may ask questions as they arise throughout the process. Keep in mind it's expensive $175.00 for up to 30mins and $225 for anything over 30 mins -1hr. After the service was performed, my credit card was charged for $225 when less than 30 mins was spent during the entire visit. Jolene came through for me and I was reimbursed $50.00. I recommend that you request for an invoice via email when your card is charged. It is not provided unless requested. The invoice I requested is basically the k9 handler's report time of arrival and completion along with findings/summary of visit. I recommend that American Pest work with k9 handlers to leave a carbon copy of date/time/duration/findings of inspection to avoid confusion. Keep good records of times and sequence of events. I'm not sure how the handler got to charging me for 33 mins when the visit concluded in no more than 20-25 mins. I figured they charge for writing the report and loading up the dog???? I will say that customer service was good. Staff were polite, knowledgeable and encouraging. I didn't need further service but I think it's a bit pricey. Shop around first. Keep in mind that quality supersedes $$$.

They did a good job. I've used them for a number of years. One time we had a gas leak in our home that they found even though it was not their job they did notice it and I was able to avoid a terrible incident. They do a great job at termite control. Their annual service for that issue has been excellent.

I called Ward after getting attacked by bees at the townhouse I'd just purchased, and the young man who came to help (whose name I'm unfortunately forgetting) went above and beyond to get rid of them. I had thought he would only need to spray inside or underneath a plastic storage shed to kill the bees, but when they just kept coming, he had to get underneath the shed to figure out what was going on. In the end, he had to deconstruct the entire shed before he could get under the base, where he found a big ground beehive in the mulch and rotten wooden frame the previous owner had used to balance the shed. The hive was attached to the base of the shed itself, too, not just in the wood/mulch. Obviously, the exterminator killed all of the bees and destroyed the hive. Then, he gave me advice on how long to wait before it'd be safe to clean up, the best way to clean up, and pointed out how the shed would snap back together again. He also warned me that - as if the bees weren't enough! - he had sprayed a black widow spider and a number of her babies, who had also been living under the shed. I'm very grateful that he took the time to find the root of the problem, take care of it so thoroughly, and warn me about another issue!

I did find some ants after the initial treatment, but they came out and fixed this issue. I have not had any problems since then.

The technician originally scheduled had called in sick that morning no they notified me that they were working on finding another technician but it might be later in the day. It worked out that they found another guy who came to my house a few hours later. He was very nice and went into my attic to check for signs of squirrels and identify any entry points. He also got up on my roof to look for signs of entry. After a thorough inspection, he let me know the he did not see any signs that the squirrels were getting into my attic but it did look like they were trying to nest in the broken attic fan. He said he couldn't take my money because no rodents were getting in and his advice was to get the attic fan replaced which would prohibit them from nesting in it any more. I was very impressed with his honesty and have told neighbors and friends about what a good experience I had. Found out several friends and neighbors already use and love Ward's too!
