When he came on August 25th, he said they did not deal with gutter helmets. He was calling to get the $99 credited back to my account. I have not received the credit back to my credit card.

Somehow the first appointment didn't get posted to the calendar, but the reschedule went very well. The office called the day before to confirm the appointment. On the day of the appointment, Mark Burkett arrived exactly on time and asked me to walk around the house with him and tell him about any concerns we had. We have Mastershield gutter covers, and he verified the front gutters and all of the downspouts were clear. I told him the rear downspout was fountaining when it rained, with water pouring from the gutter by that downspout. After checking the downspout, he climbed to the 3d story roof and found a small piece of house wrap in the gutter that was trapping debris at the elbow, and grass growing through the gutter cover. He cleared all of that out and replaced the cover. He also walked around the house; did a general inspection of the roof, windows, and siding; and made suggestions for future check ups. He was extremely polite, friendly, and helpful, and I would be happy to have him do work here again.

American Home Contractors were professional from start to finish. I was contacted a few days after my purchase from Angie's list because the dates I had selected online were not available. They were able to find a day & time that worked for our schedules and arrived on time. While cleaning our gutters, the employee noticed areas on our roof that were concerning to him, and took pictures of them to share with my husband. He also noted that the tree on the side of our house was really encroaching on our house, roof & section of gutter and recommended that it be trimmed. He also gave us a heads up that there was a large bee/wasp hive on that tree. Overall this company was professional, easy to work with, and truly demonstrated they care about their customers!

Very well. Charles Fistek was the technician that came out. He was punctual, knowledgeable, and very professional. He explained the services he would perform, and he answered all my questions. Additionally, he showed me photos of everything in the attic, as well as on the roof. He was very thorough, and I was very pleased with the entire experience. I highly recommend this service.

My visit went extremely well. Steve cleaned the gutters very quickly and did a great inspection of the attic and roof.

Excellent job, courteous and friendly. Chuck Fistek took pictures of the gutters, so I could actually see what he had done. He also did some extras, including fastening a problematic downspout for me. And did a total clean-up! I couldn't speak more highly of Chuck, and will be having American Home Contractors doing more work around here. I was very impressed.

Contractor arrived early and was extremely professional. Work was done quickly and professionally. The contractor was extremely informative about the condition of my roof and provided photos of work that was done.

Horribly. Do not use these contractors despite the ratings you see. I choose them based on ratings and a slick sales process. What went wrong: * First sign of trouble - the roofers trashed my property with their bottles, leftover job materials, you name it. I flagged this before any of the problems arose to my sales rep but he blew off my concern. * Did not protect a brand new beautiful standing seam metal roof and stepped all over it - damaged beyond repair - $6,000 to replace * Incorrectly sized skylights installed despite the fact it was apparent to the installer they were wrong. Had to take all 4 of them out and replace causing significant wall damage to 4 rooms - $2,500 to fix walls and repaint including 3 newly renovated rooms. * Nails used for siding came through dormers and wallboard damage had to be replaced and walls repainted - $1,500 to fix * Had to call out several install problems starting with too wide a gap between the trim boards and siding A nightmare for my wife and I. Did they step up and fix the problems - yes but they never should have happened in the first place. I can't understand how this happened and how they are still in business. The reason I am writing this now is the contractor made good on the problems they created (which never should have happened) and I was on the fence about issuing such a poor review. However, I recently asked them to help with a small flashing issue and they blew me off without trying to help. After all the money I spent and the grief they caused my wife and I, it seemed like a small request. I decided that people using Angie's List should hear my SAD story. Use AHC at your own high risk. Paid for roof inspection and tune up. Technician Marc inspected the entire roof including the area that leaked. He said the leak was do to popped nails. He fixed the nails in that area, a few other nails that had popped across the roof and some cracked caulking. He gave a through explanation. I'd gotten 2 other estimates and this assessment was very different and much less expensive so I'll have to wait until it rains to evaluate the work

Overall, the experience was very positive. Generally speaking, nothing is perfect; however, the positives in working with AHC, particularly our rep James Im, far outweighed any negatives. Price: AHC was definitely on the higher end compared to other contractors we received estimates from. Nevertheless, our priorities were hiring a reputable company and making sure that the work would last. We are residential home owners and would like to enjoy our home for a while. Because of AHC's reviews and the approach of James, we felt comfortable moving forward with AHC for this major project. Quality: The quality of the work was good. I'm no expert so my evaluation of the final product isn't the same as someone in this field. I may return in a couple years to update this review. However, from my standpoint, all went well, the roof looks great, and the roofers were very professional the day of the install. The day of the roof install, I noticed the original choice of shingles (not the final choice) were delivered. I notified the installers, a call was made, and the correct shingles were delivered...with no inconvenience to me as the customer. In addition, the owner of the company called me directly when I had concerns about receiving assurances that the ventilation would be done to Montgomery County's strict codes and emailed me the information I needed within an hour or two. As I recall the work was finished in 2 days. Professionalism: I can't say enough about James. He was responsive throughout the process and even brought over a metal detector when I lost my keys in the back yard. There was one major hiccup where a line a gutter guard materials were no longer being installed by AHC, but we originally contracted the gutter services based on that discontinued line. Although the whole situation could have ended up negatively, AHC worked with us to come to a more than fair resolution. I think the outcome of the gutter situation spoke more volumes about the company than anything because when the company realized a mistake was made on their end, they took the most professional approach possible and did what it took to make sure my wife and I walked away from the transaction satisfied. If you are looking for a home contractor, I would definitely recommend AHC. They were honest, responsive, and client oriented.

Steve came out twice ,first time rain was a factor. Came back week and a half later to finish the job. He took several pictures and explained everything to me. I would hire again in the future.

Steve was great, he came for a repair and looked my whole roof over before expressing concern for needing a new roof. He presented the pictures for evidence and gave me options of if I wanted them to come back for an estimate. He didn't pressure and was honest about the condition of my roof! Would definitely recommend their service.

Chuck Fistek, our roofing technician, was excellent. Chuck was punctual, friendly, and professional. He originally came to my home in order to conduct a roof tune-up, but after we walked the roof together and identified any potential problem areas, we determined that a tune-up was not possible. Instead, I scheduled a free estimate since it is clear the roof is aging. Based on my experience today, I would highly recommend American Home Contractors.

They never even looked at my gutters. They didn't really do a gutter tune up. They did more of a roof inspection looking for ways to up sell me and I am disappointed. I don't feel I got my money's worth. I feel as though I am a victim of a bait and switch.

I wasn't actually there my wife was, the only thing is I had intended for them to give a quote on additional work. But they didn't do that. She didn't remember. I think they did fine. I got the inspection report. The price was a deal. one of your deals. It was a good price what I agreed to. Actually it took a little bit to get it going. When they finally said they could go, we had to cancel a couple times but they finally said they could do it. They were there.

The technician, Steve did a fantastic job. I would hire him again! Thanks much!
