I've added clarifying SECTIONS in all CAPS TO THE contractors responses to clarify what actually happened. I've also submitted my reviews and comments here on AL since it seems to be an effective route to a response from the contractor. Overall, find another company to do your project, don't be fooled by their pitch. Per the response they did volunteer their time installing the ceiling and the fan, I appreciate that, but those items were done outside of the agreement and were done as a consolation to the delay's. I should have mentioned it in my original posting AND apologize for it. Pending a response from AHC, I will post additional photos and an update should we hear from the contractor.
Description of Work: Repeated no shows and no calls after scheduled appointments. Signed contract on Aug 12th with the written approval roof would be completed before Labor Day. After repeated no call and no shows, roofers showed up end of Sept to complete the project. They completed the roof, but did not do the fascia or the porch per the terms of the contract. After 5 further no shows after scheduled appointments, contractor showed up to cancel and delay another 2 weeks. After rains, we now have leaking in the attic whereby the improper install of the rain guard was not completed on the perimeter of the roof as well as the hatch to the roof was not properly covered in sheet metal subsequently causing further leaks. Office staff do not return phone calls and no one is informed about poor workmanship as well poor customer service. Company came and put filler in the gap in the roof line, and basically said the job is complete, please sign. Invoice was signed, but I would not recommend AHC for home projects in the future. Overall, feedback is communication, it goes a long way, vendor did not communicate timelines, did not follow through with appointments or finalizing a satisfactory job. Project in under warranty, and I assume they will be back in the very near future. Description of work: New roof project Services Performed: Yes Cost: $5000 Work Completed Date: 10/30/2017 OverallF PriceF QualityD ResponsivenessF PunctualityF ProfessionalismD Service Provider Response: Thank you for voicing your opinion. We have reviewed your concerns, and do have to say that this review is a bit of a shock to us. We do know the contract was signed on August 12th. At that time, the Project Coordinator did say he would TRY to expedite the roofing project, but could NOT guarantee this project get completed before you went out of the country. (HOMEOWNER) TEXTS AND EMAILS CONFIRM JOB WOULD BE COMPLETED WITHIN 2-3 WEEKS OF SIGNING CONTRACT This job could have been completed in a timely manner had you decided what color shingle you wanted. (HOMEOWNER) THAT'S STRANGE SINCE THE CONTRACT CLEARLY DICTATES THE COLOR WE REQUESTED UPON SIGNING THE CONTRACT. HOW DID THIS CAUSE A DELAY THAT WAS NEVER COMMUNICATED TO US. After this delay, the Project Coordinator stated several times that it was not looking like the project would be completed by the time you left for your work trip. (HOMEOWNER) NOT TRUE, CONTRACTOR NEVER CALLED OR FOLLOWED UP. CUSTOMER HAD TO CALL MAIN OFFICE TO SPEAK WITH STAFF WHO WERE BOTH NOT INFORMED AND DIDN'T KNOW WHY THE JOB WASNT SCHEDULED. AFTER 4TH PHONE CALL, I WAS TOLD JOB WAS SCHEDULED FOR A DATE THAT WASNT COMMUNICATED TO US AT ALL. ONLY AFTER SPEAKING WITH MAIN OFFICE WAS THE HOMEOWNER CALLED BY PROJECT COORDINATOR. The Project Coordinator was very clear and honest about the time frame of completion. Due to your request to be home when the roof was being installed, the project was put on hold. (HOMEOWNER) NOT TURE, WE TOLD THEM TO COMPLETED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE, NO COMMUNICATION FROM CONTRACTOR/PROJECT COORD SINCE HE WAS 'BUSY' WITH OTHER JOBS. When you decided that you did not mind the roof being replaced while you were out of town, the project was completed within a week of you giving your Project Coordinator the okay to move forward with the installation. (HOMEOWNER) THEY NEVER CONFIRMED THE DATE WITH US, I HAD TO CALL TO CONFIRM WITH MAIN OFFICE 4 SEPARATE TIMES UNTIL JOB WAS FINALLY SCHEDULED. After the roof was installed, you asked about the completion of the fascia board. (HOMEOWNER) AGAIN NOT TRUE, THE FASCIA WAS PART OF THE CONTRACT FROM START, LOOK AT THE SIGNED AGREEMENT... At this time, the Project Coordinator informed you this could not be completed until you replaced the soffit, which you wanted to do on your own. (HOMEOWNER) AGAIN IF THIS WERE TRUE, THEN WHY WAS IT IN THE CONTRACT AND PART OF THE NEGOTIATIONS IN EMAIL TO BE COMPLETED? I HAVE EVERYTHING IN WRITING FROM AHC To ensure the project was completed in the most timely way possible, your Project Coordinator volunteered his time to assist in the completion of the soffit replacement. He spent 8 hours one day helping replace this soffit AND installing a ceiling fan. He did this free of charge. (HOMEOWNER) YES, THIS IS TRUE AND THANK YOU FOR DOING THAT, TO WHICH YOU VOLUNTEERED GIVEN ALL OF THE CONTINUED DEALYS WITH OUR PROJECT, TO WHICH THERE WERE NUMEROUS MISSED APPOINTMENTS AND NO CALL AND NO SHOWS, BUT THANK YOU FOR VOLUNTEERING YOUR TIME AND POINTING THIS OUT IN THE REVIEW. Once the prerequisites for the fascia board project were completed, a date was set for finishing the job.Unfortunately, due to inclement weather, the completion date got moved back by 1 week, but was fully completed on the rescheduled date. On the date that the crew was at your home completing the final details of the project, you called into the office to speak with a manager. You were voicing concerns about the crew wrapping rotten fascia. We informed you the Production Manager was out of the office and as soon as he returned would be given the message. This is exactly what happened. The office staff member gave the message to the Production Manager who spoke with the crew chief to ensure the job was being completed to our high standards. Before we could even call you back, you called the office a second time. At this time, our office staff asked you to speak with the crew chief who was at your home. You informed the office that you were not even at the property. You never once voiced your concern with your Project Coordinator, who was at your home assisting in the completion of the job, and actually insisted the office not inform him. When the crew was completed, you signed the completion invoice and still did not voice concerns to the crew doing the job. They would have happily walked you through and explained step by step what was done. Please explain to us how upon completion you were so pleased with the finished product that you gave out beers to our crew, but are now complaining about their work. Let us know at this point what we can do to satisfy your needs. We noticed you included pictures with your negative review. (HOMEOWNER) YES I BROUGHT BEERS TO FINALIZE THE JOB. YOU'VE WRAPPED ROTTING WOOD IN ALUMINUM. YOUR CREW DID NOT FOLLOW THE LINE ITEMS IN THE CONTRACT. I WILL NOW NEED TO REMOVE THE ALUMINUM TO REPLACE THE ROTTING FASCIA BOARD, WHICH WASNT REPLACED, JUST COVERED. IT'S SURPRISING TO ME THE LACK OF ACCOUNTABILITY AT YOUR COMPANY. I CALLED YOUR OFFICE TO SPEAK WITH A MANAGER SINCE PROJECT COORDINATOR WASNT LISTENING THAT PER THE CONTRACT THE FASCIA WAS TO BE REPLACED, NOT COVERED WITH ALUMINUM. THE OFFICE NEVER CALLED ME BACK AND APPARENTLY JUST SPOKE TO PC ON THE GROUND. AT THIS POINT, WE SIGNED THE INVOICE TO NEVER HAVE TO WORK WITH AHC AGAIN, THE HEADACHES, THE LACK OF COMMUNICATION. These happen to be photos of your home before the work started. (HOMEOWNER) THESE WERE PHOTOS TAKEN DAY OF PUTTING COVERING OVER THE FASCIA. Why did you not include after pictures? You are intentionally giving the impression that we left your home in this condition. Again, this entire review comes as a shock to us and we just want to find a solution to ensure your satisfaction. (HOMEOWNER) THE WRAPPING OF ALUMINUM ON THE FASCIA BOARD HAS BEEN COMPLETED, YOU ARE CORRECT IT COMES AS A SHOCK TO US AS WELL. WE WERE SOLD A VERY DIFFERENT PICTURE FROM THE ESTIMATE MEETING. WE ARE DISAPPOINTED FOR THE DELAYS, THE WORKMANSHIP, THE POOR COMMUNICATION,, THEIR RESPONSE ON AL, AND THE LACK OF ANY WARRANTY PAPERWORK OR PAPERWORK AT ALL. IF AHC REALLY WANTED TO FIND A SOLUTION, WHY HASNT THERE BEEN ANY FOLLOW UP ON AHC'S END? WHY HASNT THERE BEEN A FINAL INVOICE OF WORK COMPLETED OR A COPY OF ANY WORK BEEN SENT TO US? THERE HAS BEEN ZERO COMMUNICATION ON THIS JOB FROM AHC'S END.
