The Technician Mark was prompt and friendly. He listened carefully as I mentioned my concerned with the gutters. The work was completed quickly and he reviewed with me what repairs were done, along with pictures. Very impressed with his professionalism.

They were unable to perform job because of the gutter covers I have. They did identify another problem on roof. Refund my payment in very timely manner.

Mr Marc Burkett did an excellent job! He took care of all potential problem areas. Upon completion, he went through each item he did and took time and explained to me - professionally. When I asked about the current condition of the old roof, he honestly suggested that it's a good idea to get a free estimate, so I'll do it sometime next year. Thanks Marc!!

The technician arrived and was friendly, had a smile on, and was ready to start work. Pictures were taken, which were sent to me a couple days later. Issues were revealed which I was not aware of, like facia not covering all of the wood behind the gutters and lose gutter anchor points due to rotting wood. Besides trying to re anchor the gutters in the technician spent most the time removing the clog (golf ball!) and material.

Mark Burkett did an excellent job. Very prompt, courteous and knowledgeable. He not only performed a great roof tune-up he also pointed out some larger issues with my roof that will need to be addressed in the future. I am vey satisfied with the service.

It went well. The men showed up only several days after I signed the agreement. I did not get notification that they were coming on that day, but it wasn’t a problem. The men went straight to work with no wasted time. It only took a couple of hours. They cleaned up all the debris. The gutters look fine and have been working well.

This is my third gutter cleaning with this company, they do a great job. The technician is very professional. Photos before and after are provided. I would recommend these folks to anyone.

American Home Contractor Review This is an up-dated review to a previous review I provided to Angie’s List on 11/29/2017 In Summary: I purchased an Angie’s List Big Deal costing $3,600.00. The deal was for an 800 square feet asphalt roofing system. I purchased additional footage costing $400.00 and up scaled roofing material for $400.00. Total cost of roofing project was $4,400.00. On the install date sales representative text and told me I need to replace my deck boards. The number of decking boards replaced were 35 (4x8 CDX plywood at a cost of $60.00 each), for a total cost of $2,100. After all is said and done my new roofing system cost me $6,500.00, $2,100.00 more than the estimate. I Purchased a New Town Home Roof with Asphalt Shingles for $3,600 on August 31, 2017. The offer was to cover up to 800 square feet of shingles. After purchasing the offer: 1. I phoned American Home Contractors (AHC’s) to schedule an appointment with a sale representative. The appointment was scheduled for 9/20/2017. 2. I received a voice mail from American Home Contractor (09/19/2017) to remind me of an appointment on 9/20/2017 @ 2 pm 3. I returned their call explaining I was not in town and needed to change the appointment. I requested a change to 9/27/2017. I was told they have no availability until the end of October. I said thank you and how should I go about requesting a refund. Would you provide the refund or Angie’s List. I was told to contact Angie’s List for refund. Then I was asked for my name which I provided. 4. Two minutes later and with a changed in attitude, I received another call from AHC’s, explaining she thought my appointment was in regard to a roof tune-up, not a complete roof install. AHC’s was now availability and could schedule me for 9/27/2017. 5. The sale representative arrived on 9/27/2017 on time. He began by providing information on how long he has been in the roofing business. He also provided information on how long AHC’s has been in business; and mentioned they are a locally owned company, and their exceptional reputation has been built over years. But, He did not share with me displays or samples of any products offered. I then interrupted, and told him I have purchased an Angie’s List Big Deal. The deal was for an 800 square feet of roofing on a townhouse at the cost of $3600.00. He asked if I could cancel the Angie’s deal, because he could offer a better roofing deal. He went on to say those deals are only advertisement to get us out to the house. He then went out on the roof to measure the square footage. He returned and said forget about canceling the deal, I can work with the deal. When he left, I had a roofing project costing $4,400.00 ($3,600 for the deal, $400.00 for add square footage (my roof is more than 800 square feet) and $400.00 in up charges for roofing materials) 6. At some point during the presentation, I received a call from my son, and he suggested I ask how much does the decking cost for the roof. I ask the sales representative how much would the decking cost for the roof. He said he didn’t understand the question. Day of installation, October 25, 2017 the installer arrived to install the roof. Early that morning, I also received a Text message, not a phone call from the sales representative. The following communications between the sales representative and me, via text messages are outlined below: Sales Representative -- Mr. Marshall, your roof needs 25 sheets of plywood. So there will be an extra charge for that. $1500 more Homeowner -- I don’t understand! Are you here at the site? Sales Representative -- I am on my way. My crew is. Homeowner -- Ok, I will see you when you come. Sales Representative -- It will be around 12 but my guys cannot continue without replacing the plywood this has to happen Homeowner -- My question is how many sheets in total dies the roof contains. That is a lot. I thought you would have noticed this issue. Sales Representative -- The entire roof holds 38 sheets of plywood I cannot tell what's underneath of the shingles Homeowner -- Well, it has to be done. But a $3600.00 roof turns into a 6000.00 dollar roof. Unhappy about this! Sales Representative -- I apologize for this mr. Marshall unfortunately you can never tell what's underneath the shingles until you tear the shingles off Homeowner -- How much does each sheet cost? Sales Representative -- $60, My crew just called and said there may be a few more pieces than 25 You can go outside and talk to the foreman. I am trying to get there as soon as possible End of text message communications between sales representative and me. Sales representative never arrived at the project site. Roofing project completed on October 26th 2017. The next time I had communication with the sales representative was in the following text messages below dated November 20th, 2017, with a final bill attached of $6,500.00 Sales Representative -- Mr. Marshall you can pay over the phone with a credit card Homeowner -- I am out of town until November 30th, 2017. I will come into to your office and handled this matter. I will come in and discuss this matter on December 1st, 2017. I have questions! Regarding the $2,100.00, I am aware, of the $800.00. Been waiting for you to come by and inspect the roof. Since you are the Project Manager. I have not heard or seen you since the roofing was done. Very bad customer services. See you then. Sales Representative – Ok On November 22nd 2017, I called and spoke to the VP of AHC’s. I asked him to address my concerns and issues regarding the cost of (35 sheets of CDX Plywood at $60.00 each, for a total of $2,100.00) not included in the estimate provided to me. I wanted to know how an experience roofer could walk across a roof. Consisting of 35 sheet of 4x8 Plywood and not know the decking boards could possibly require replacement. Or at least know how he could not feel a give or weakness in some of the decking boards. And not suggest to me the decking boards may require replacement, which would be an additional cost. The VP could not provide a definitive answer to my questions, but he did show some concern. He did not offer a reduction in the cost for the decking boards. He did offer to allow me to pay the additional $2,900.00 over a period of 3 months. The following is a text message from The VP of AHC’s after I provided Angie’s List a review Ken Duncan - VP American Home Contractors I have reviewed the contract and spoken to Ian. I am also aware of your online complaint, which I find to be somewhat un called for. AHC has completed all of the work properly as per contract. While it is not clear what was or was not stated with regards to the plywood, the information is in writing on the contract. Either way, the balance was due upon completion of the project. I have discussed the situation with my partners, and we are willing to do the payment plan as discussed, on the condition that you would remove the complaint. If you agree then we will accept the $2900 balance to be paid off as follows: $1000 to be paid by Monday December 4th $1000 to be paid January 1, 2018 $900 to be paid February 1, 2018 Thank you very much I greatly appreciate your business. I can assure you that AHC will be responsive should you ever have any service issues. Marc was very professional and thorough. There was a hiccup with communication, but was resolved without any significant issues. It hasn't rained yet but I expect the gutters to run very well after the work.

Walked the whole roof and identified area, caulked and replaced nails.

Went well. Marc was wonderful. Took time to explain his findings and suggested items that needed to be completed in the future to keep our gutters/roof in good functioning condition. Will definitely used American Home Contractors again for gutter cleaning and other services.

Great - Mark showed up right on time, told me what he was going to do. We walked to the front and rear of the house to check areas he would clean and check. He took pictures after he reviewed the roof and showed all areas of concern . After he did the gutter cleaning- he blew off all around the property to leave the deck and walkway clean.

Mark was absolutely awesome. He was very knowledgeable and professional. He was very courteous also. He gave me a call to tell me he was on his way. Mark is a hard worker and I couldn't have asked for anyone better. Great experience.

Marc from American showed up punctually and explained what they were going to be doing while on site. His explanation was thorough. He promptly got to work and after completing the job he spent time explaining his findings. I was impressed with his knowledge and appreciate the throrough effort. Would definitely recommend their services.

Very well. They were on time, polite, gave us helpful advice about a leak they found and repaired the leak. We felt they were trustworthy to work on our home. It was a good experience--they will be a company we will consult when we need other work done.

Chuck did a great job cleaning my gutters and made me aware of a few issues. He came back and made corrections and I am very pleased with the work.

The vendor arrived on time (in fact, he phoned to come a bit early, but I was unfortunately out). He began outside, by blowing leaves and seeds from the gutter guards then he removed the guards to check for leaks and damage (none found). Importantly, he re-secured the gutter pegs with a hammer as they'd become loose over time). When done outside, he checked the attic for leaks and other damage (again none found). The whole process took about 45 minutes.

The work was completed in a very professional manner and I was given a great overview of the condition of the roof after the work was completed.

Work was done in 2 days as promised. They provided a ton of pictures to document their progress and the condition of the roof before and after. Can't say enough nice things about John and his crew. Would hire them again in a heartbeat.

Marc did a great job all around. He called to let me know when he would arrive and arrived on time. He was very professional and performed all work required to clean out the gutters and downspouts. He also cleaned up all debris when finished. He was also very knowledgeable about roofing and shared some advice for general maintenance.

Fantastic! I really appreciated getting a call that due to traffic, Marc B was running a little late. Marc did a good job cleaning out the gutters and letting us know of some issues we have. He was very polite, professional, and easy to talk to.
