Initially I purchased an Angies Deal for Gutter Cleaning and Tune-up in summer of 2015. Howard did the Gutter Cleaning. He was on-time, professional and thorough. He took pictures of attic, gutters and roof both interior and exterior. I subsequently purchased a new roof. Other than installation being pushed back couple of time due to other projects and weather the process went very smoothly. the crew arrived on time, worked efficiently and cleaned up any debris. The roof is holding up nicely. Since then I have contracted routinely for gutter cleanup. I always request Howard as he is very thorough.

Mark was very polite and professional. He took time to explain things in detail and discovered some issues with the roof. He explained them and showed me pictures. Glad I hired this company and Mark came out.

Here we are, 4 months after our signed contract and deposit. The inspector said 2 weeks. Contract said 3-4 weeks. We were then pushed out 2 months. Then further due to rain. I kept having to call for updates until they got the picture that we needed to be kept informed. The materials should have been delivered the day before, instead it was 2 weeks that boxes sat on our lawn. We were confirmed for one day, with little chance of rain and they were a no show. I get a call the next day that the crew sent a screenshot at 6am of a 60% chance of rain, so they didn't come. There was no rain that day. Then we're told, and confirmed, Saturday is the day. There should be no rain. No show, no call, no rain. I call and email and there's no response. With a <10% chance of rain and a confirmation, I expect a crew at 8am. That was yesterday. This morning, I go to walk the dog before we go out for our day plans and there's a crew. No warning or anything. Fine, we'll finally have a roof but we now have to change all of our plans for this. Well, they get started. Our inspector said that tarp would be laid down the front of the house to cover and protect the siding. That hasn't happened on either side of the house and we have things on our deck that needed to be moved away because they're dropping shingles and nails onto it. There's a tarp on the front lawn- that's it. They're also using my neighbor's lawn for a staging area with all the materials... are you kidding? There is a perfectly good sidewalk and 2 free parking spaces at your disposal. We are extremely unimpressed at this 'Overpromise and underdeliver' situation. Let's hope the worksmanship is good. We haven't heard anything about payment, either. The saga will continue.

On May 7 we bought a deal from this company for a gutter cleaning and tune up. They completed the work on the day and after the job pointed out some issues with our roof that they recommended fixing, he also noted that we have a dual layer roof. Ok, I understand this is how these companies work, doing a small project in hopes of finding other work to do. Nothing wrong with that. The tech that day took pictures of the issues. They sent out another person to give us an estimate. This second person looked at the roof from ground level as well as the pictures that the tech took the first time and said that we only needed a “roof tune-up” that would cost $149. Great news! We got the tune-up on scheduled for July 25th and thought all was taken care of. Fast forward to this morning, the day that the service is supposed to be performed. I receive a call from someone else who did not identify himself. He says that a person is on the way but that they were looking over our work and that the roof tune-up only included certain fixes, and that we’d have to pay more. I say this isn’t what we agreed to and not what was said to me by the person that was sent out before. The guy on the phone says that they didn’t realize it was dual layered when the estimate happened, despite that being made very clear to us when the first tech came out, and that the package didn’t include all the things we needed fixed such a collars for pipes, etc. The person also said that we should try going through insurance to get the work done. I say that’s not what we discussed and why, since this appointment has been scheduled for two months now, was I just hearing about it on the day the work is to be completed? No answer other than “I dropped the ball.” I ask well if it’s not going to be the $149 we agreed on then how much will it be? “I don’t know, I’m not the person that estimates this stuff, but I really think you should go through insurance.” I say that it makes no sense that this appointment has been on the books for two months but you wait until the morning of the job to call and tell me that what your own estimator said to me was incorrect and it will now cost more money and that you can’t tell me how much. He responds by telling me again what is included in the roof tune up and that it won’t cover the work I need. So I ask him again why, since they had all this information for months now, this is just coming up now. He talks again about using insurance. I told him that they could either complete the repairs for the price told to me or cancel their person from coming out. He says again that insurance should be involved. So I tell him to cancel the appointment and hang up. I’m not sure what is going on with this company but they just wasted two months of my time. Even if we should be going through insurance you can be sure we won’t be going through this company.

They arrived on time and more importantly took before and after pictures. The gutters are 4-stories overhead and I do not have a ladder to reach that height so the pictures were super helpful

We had 5 shingles blow off during a windstorm this year. I called several different places who quoted me $650+ and up to replace them. I saw American Home Contractors offered a 'roof tune-up' where they will replace up to 10 shingles and do a roof inspection for $149. It is a great deal and now I have peace of mind that my roof is fine (since I had concerns with some of the shingles blowing off). The technician that came out was extremely knowledgeable and professional! They also offer gutter cleaning and inspection which I will be taking advantage of in the future.

Prompt, professional service resulted in clean gutters. Dennis was great with communication. We would hire again.

It was very easy to make the appointment. In fact, they were able to send someone out the next day. The technician, Marc, showed up on time and introduced himself. He thoroughly explained what he was going to do. He also informed me he would be taking before and after photos that he would be sending to my email. During the repair work, he kept me up to date with what he found and what repairs he would be making. He made suggestions for future work I should have done when the time comes for replacing my roof. I was very pleased with Marc's knowledge base, demeanor and attention to detail. I would definitely hire again.

Marc was excellent. He took the time to explain all the work he was going to do and pointed out a number of things I should consider to protect my roof. He was professional and courteous. I will definitely have all my roofing and gutter work done by American Home Contractors!!

The gutter work was performed, pictures taken before and after. Explained the deficiencies found and provided recommendations. Work was done. Very pleased with their professionalism. Very prompt. Also, assessed the roof.

Very well. Howard arrived on time and was done in under 1/2 hour. He confirmed the gutter system was in good shape and the only issue was a missing roof shingle. I will happily hire again next time!

The price basically doubled from the voucher we purchased. A complete scam job. Requested our Money back from Angie’s list and did receive a refund.

John R our salesman was very attentive in keeping us updatted on scheduling, delivery of materials and actual installation. Installers very professional and cleaned up after each day.

Marc did an outstanding job explaining what he did and he also recommended things to be aware of when the roof needs to be replaced.

They arrived on time, but after inspecting the gutters they informed me that they couldn't do the job due to the gutter guards that were in place. They were reluctant to remove them, as they indicated they were attached in such a manner that they did not want to risk damaging the roof. They suggested I get in touch with another company that did that sort of work. I appreciated the professionalism and honesty and would use them if the need arose.

Charles was friendly and efficient. He even got here early. The job was done well and everything was shown to me through pictures so I could see exactly what was done.

I contacted American Home Contractors Inc; to do some work on my roof, just a simple roof tune-up. It took almost two months for an appointment. I specifically told the associate that answered the phone that my shingles were a certain color, and I told her what the color was. She assured me that they had a variety of colors. When the tech came out to do the work, he had one color to choose from. I had to reschedule the appt, because they didn't have the color I told them my shingles were. I had to drive 45 minutes to go to a company that had the color shingles I needed. They didn't even offer to go and get the shingles after I was told they would have an assortment of colors. I called to reschedule because the woman that I spoke to on the phone said she would get me in quickly. The date she gave me was several weeks away. I told her that her offer was unacceptable because of the heavy rain. I asked her why would they tell me they would come back out right away, and then when I called back, they started back peddling. I told her I would contact another company from Angies List. Her response showed me that she didn't care, in my opinion. The deal that they offered was for $150. They may have not been putting a new roof on my home for thousands of dollars, or some other expensive job, but a $150 job should be treated the same as a $4,000 job. That $150.00 job could have added up to thousands of dollars for them in the future, from me, and also from my friends, neighbors that I would have told about their company; if I had a good experience with them. It was also difficult to get them on the phone. I called another company from Angies List and they came out the same day I called them. The owner of this company came out to my home, after I told him about my previous experience with American Home contractors Inc; and how long I had been waiting. He told me that they were extremely busy, but he would come out and do the work, since it would not take long to do. If I ever need any type of roof work again, I will be calling HF Roofing Contractors. I was very impressed and thankful for their quick response. It doesn't matter how small the job is, perform it, and don't keep pushing the small jobs to the back. You never know when the next job from that customer will be a huge profit. I'm having my balcony rebuilt, which is costing thousands of dollars. A small job can eventually bring you thousands, and a loyal customer.

Marc did a thorough, thorough inspection not only of our roof, but finding a problem with window siding we hadn’t noticed before, and he did this all at a bargain price. He is a credit to his company, and left us very favorably disposed to also have them work on changing a door. Overall, he went above and beyond.
