Our tune-up tech, Marc Burkett, arrived promptly, 10 minutes before our scheduled appointment. He reviewed the job expectations, then set to work inspecting our skylights, roof, and gutters. He took pictures of everything, which was so very appreciated - since we can't go up on the roof, the pictures make everything easy to understand. He provided a complete report, which outlined areas that were ok, needed repair, and needed replacement. There was no hard sell or scare tactics, just straightforward information as to how to maintain our skylights. Going forward, we will definitely contact American Home Contractors for the maintenance of our skylights; this inspection was money well spent.

Howard Shires arrived exactly on time, was courteous, professional, friendly and very informative. He explained the results of his inspections, where he tightened and sealed the gutters, and helped me with a window that needs further repair. He got it closed for me, which I had been unable to do. This roofer was spectacular from start to finish. The owner himself came and discussed options with my husband and I. He clearly described our various options in terms of pros and cons, allowing us to make an informed decision about everything from color to design. We opted for the lifetime warranty architectural shingles, and it was a good choice. They look nice and they are sturdy as all get out. His crew was prompt, polite, and efficient. We were delighted to have almost a whole new roof in one day, and especially happy when Superstorm Sandy came and we sat comfy and safe under the serious protection of our new roof. They also did a great job with cleanup. I think over the past couple of years, we have found maybe 3 errant roofing nails, which I would say is pretty darn good given that removal of the old roof meant that it was practically raining nails. The roof has continued to look spectacular 2.5 years later, and I feel confident that we will never have to replace this roof. Best of all, the quote provided by this company was right in line with even the cheapest quote we got. Also, when we talked to neighbors we found the price we got was more than fair, and there were no unexpected markups later on. Great price. Great service. Great roof!

Went very well. Contractor arrived right on time, got to work and completed the job quickly and efficiently.

The project went very well and was done in a professional manner. When roof is replaced need to address vented soffit and needs ridge vent installed as well as ice/weather shield to eaves and rakes. Also, install drip edge to eaves and rakes.

He explained what he was doing, what he saw and any potential problems. He was very helpful.

The process went very well. I was quite pleased with the punctuality of the workers and the information provided regarding the condition of my roof and gutters. Although, the promotional only provided for 100 linear feet of gutters for the quoted price, the number of feet were much more. The lead technician (Marc Burkett), however, worked with the manager and was able to do the full job at the stated price by cleaning the areas where the debris was located. He also explained in detail some of the roofing problems that I was experiencing and recommended preventative measures that should be taken.

Josh is great. His staff were very professional and did great work. They came when we were told they would come, finished the job on time. They cleaned up well each day. House looks brand new. Would definitely hire them again.

I called a few days prior to appointment and there was some confusion as to my not being in their system. I found another roofer to do the job. I did receive a call from the company explaining the mix up. I found this to be quite professional.

Marc did an excellent job cleaning the gutters and showed me pictures of the cleaned gutters and places on the roof where he had some concern. I have scheduled a follow up appointment with someone from American Home Contractors to give me an estimate on either repairing or replacing the roof. Looking forward to working with them. Impressively, Marc Burkett was right on time as scheduled and proceeded directly and efficiently to execute the job as per agreement.

I called two days before to confirm my appt,...I was NOT in their schedule....called another roofer to get job done..thet called me back to say they "found Me"...still had a bad taste about them..they may be outstanding but my first impression was not a good one.

My appointment was scheduled for 10:00, but Marc called and asked if he could arrive 30 minutes early. He introduced himself politely and got straight to the tune up. After he finished, he explained to me the issues that I was having with my gutters, roof, and skylight. He immediately got me on the phone with one of their schedulers and set up a consultation for a future date. Overall, this was one of the easiest experiences I've had with any contractor and would not hesitate to use them again.

The technician was prompt. He was knowledgeable on gutters and diagnosing the specific issues associated with our gutters. In addition to cleaning the gutters, he did some repairs that stopped the water leakage we were having over the front door. He provided before and after pictures and made reasonable and cost effective recommendations for what we should change/replace to prevent a leaky roof in the future. He also assessed the condition of my skylight .

The contractor was extremely professional and knowledgeable. He discovered an issue when checking my attic area and told me how to fix the issue. After his check of the gutter he decided that he would take care of the issue for me, though he was not required to do so.

The technician, Marc, was very professional. He performed an outstanding job; showed up on-time, explained procedure step by step, provided information about the inspection, my gutters' and roof's condition. Although, he got stung by a bee when he was cleaning the gutters, he tried to complete his work. He had to stop because of the bees and he recommended to schedule a time at a very early time during day when the bees are more calm to complete the rest of the work. I definitely recommend the company and ask for Marc.

After purchasing the deal from the Angie's List website, the company was very prompt in setting up an appointment time. On the appointment day, the tune-up technician, Marc Burkett, showed up on-time and immediately went to work. He checked the attic first and notified us of the need to increase our insulation to make it up to code. Then, he went to inspect the roof and gutters. He gave us a thorough breakdown of the needs for the gutters and roof by providing pictures to explain why the repairs were necessary. He also made recommendations for moving forward with repairing our roof and gutters, but did so in an informative way that made it clear that his focus was on educating the customer rather than just pitching a sale. We have scheduled a follow-up appointment with the company's estimator.

The worker was punctual and courteous he explained what he was going to do and took pictures to show the condition of my gutters and roof. He completed the job of cleaning my gutters and I was very satisfied.

The office called the day before to confirm the appointment and tells us who would be doing the work. Marc Burkett was the technician, and he called in advance on the morning of the appointment to tell us when he would arrive. He did the work quickly and very well. He also cleaned up debris on our roof from a storm the occurred the night before, which (I think) was above and beyond what we paid for. He inspected our rook and found just a few minor items. He made suggestions as to what we should watch for. I found the whole experience very professional and would definitely put American Home Contractors on my short list for future projects.

American Home Contractors considers the roof-gutters-downspouts as a connected system that works together, so the inspection began with a look at the roof from inside my attic to identify insulation values, ventilation, and any leakage issues. This was followed by a thorough inspection of the roof, gutters, and downspouts from outside. All debris was removed from the gutters and the gutter was well-caulked at one corner joint where I had noticed some leakage. The contractor photographed all parts of the gutters and roof before and after the work was done, and he displayed these photos for me on a large cellphone -- a definite plus that boosted my confidence that the work was done correctly, and a service that I have not seen other gutter services provide. The contractor identified a potential problem with warped plywood (which was visible in the photos of the roof shingles) and returned to the attic with me to point out the problem from inside. He did not recommend immediate repair, but instead that I monitor the situation and he outlined how repairs should be done in the future. He gave me a complete written inspection report on the condition of my attic, roof, and gutter system and said that I could request the photos of my roof by email. The technician (Howard Shires) arrived within the expected time and was very professional and courteous. I would highly recommend this contractor for this type of inspection, cleaning and repair service.

This was the first time I used Angie List Big Deal and I must say, the cost and service I received was prefect. I schedule for my gutters to be cleaned on 22 July 2015, and informed the company that they will need a 40 foot ladder to get onto my roof which was not a problem for this company, I am mentioning this because before joining Angie List, I have hire contractors before who did not have the proper ladder length or tools. Anyway, Howard (the roof specialist) called to let me know he was in the area and can start earlier, this was not a problem. He first inspected my attic and took pictures and informed me of a few things I need to check on. Next he went onto my roof and examined the gutters,and the shingles and provided a detail report with pictures and pointed out which intersection of the gutters system was installed incorrectly and needed to re-pitched. By the way, I have a three story home which I just purchased and my gutters were so impacted that trees shoots were growing out of them, but this was not a problem for Howard. After showing me the pictures of the roof and gutters he informed me what he will be doing to clean the gutters out and how he can adjust one of the elbow on the gutters due to it facing the wrong way. The entire process took about one hour and half. Once Howard was completed he provided recommendation of how many times I should clean my gutter system and left the surrounding areas CLEAN and hauled away five to six large black bags. Howard was very friendly, detailed orientated and in very knowledgeable in his field of work! I will defiantly use this company and technician again Thank you.

I was very pleased with the results after he completed the inspection my entire roof, along with taking pictures. He cleaned & tightned my gutters, showing before & after pictures.He recommended a follow-up cleaning in 6 months.

Initial tuneup included a roof inspection inside and out. Provided an estimate of the work needeed. Came back and performed the recommended work.

Dave arrive early and completed the work quickly. He was very knowledgeable and pleasant and we will be having the company come back out to provide a roofing estimate.

Mark,the repair man arrived at exactly the appointment time. He explained to me exactly what he was going to do and I took him to attic to point out a small leak. He proceeded to do the inspection and review with me everything he did by showing before and after photos. He explained why the small leak happened and showed before an after repair pictures. He gave me complete evaluation of the condition of my roof. I asked a lot of stupid questions and he very politely answered them. I was very satisfied with the service and Mark the repairman.
