WOW- found my faith again in honest, reliable service technicians when Mike responded to my house for a service call on my refrigerator. He was on time and efficient. He told me exactly what was wrong; how much the parts would cost (he was on phone with manufactuor to get that information) and how much labor. He gave his recommendation (not to fix) and told me it was my choice, but given age of refrigerator and the fact that we had experienced a huge power surge, he recommended replacement. I then asked him to look at my oven (not in my original service request) and he was able to locate a part and provided an estimate to repair that. He will be my go to person for any appliance calls in the future. I love that I found him on Angie's List and listened to what others had said about him; it was all true!

Paul from Mike's called me within a day of sending my inquiry for dishwasher repair. When I described the issue, he described how I could fix the problem myself (turns out I had done--or not done in this case--something simple and rather silly) and save a service call. I am grateful for Paul's honest assessment--one that potentially took money out of his picket and kept it in mine! How often does that happen? For this reason I will call Mike's first anytime I have this sort of need in the future. Thank you!

I was assuming I would have to wait several days and pay big $$$ based on using other services in the past. However, I looked on Angie's list and found Mike's Appliance service, and they seemed to have a good history. Within 24 hours of calling them (I would recommend calling instead of filling out the on-line form) they were at my house. Paul was very polite, called 30 minutes before he arrived and quickly diagnosed and fixed the problem. All for a great price. THANK YOU PAUL! The service professional from Mike's Appliance Service not only fixed our dryer, he found the least expensive option for us. He was very friendly, yet professional, and really knew his business. I have complete trust in this company and will definitely call again.

The gentleman arrived in the time window quoted. He was polite and professional. He quickly diagnosed the problem, and called in for the part price. Our dishwasher, however, could not be saved. The storm had killed the computer in the unit, so we elected to get a new dishwasher rather than invest in this older model. I will use them in the future.

I called Monday morning, they called back early, gave me a time frame for Tuesday. Paul showed up on time, he was polite, thorough, and neat. He explained everything he was doing and how to prevent the problem from returning. He was fast but completely checked everything on the refrigerator. And he was a generally pleasant person to have working in my home. He fixed the problem, and the bill was reasonable. I would call them again.

They saved us from having to replace the appliances. It was simple repairs. I gave them the model numbers and they were able to bring the pieces with them. I would use them again in the future.

Paul, the serviceman, arrived on time, and got right to work. He was thoroughly professional, answered all my questions, and finished the repair quickly. He returned everything back to the way he found it after finishing his work. Excellent experience.

It went smoothly. They needed to order a part. They came back a few days later with the part.

The guy who came out was Paul. He was very good. He came out to determine what was wrong with it based on what I had told him by phone. He did come out with the parts and changed the damaged one. The cost of that part was only $100. I ended up paying only for the service call. He was very well informed and he told me that the part he brought would not necessarily solve the main problem with the machine; so I asked him what my options were in terms of cost from the least to the most and I chose to replace the machine. He was very courteous and prompt. I thought considering that it was a house call, his price was not ridiculously expensive. He even gave me his cell number in case I needed to contact him before he was coming back. I would use him again in the future too.

They are wonderful. He figured out a way to save us money. He was very personable. He’s now my go to guy for appliance repair; I have his card on my fridge. He also was able to look at my stove when I said I had an issue and help me fix that, without charging me. He seemed to care mostly about the customer being satisfied.

Mike responded quickly and came on time. He thoroughly checked the machine but found no issues. The tub leak mysteriously healed and the drum rotated when Mike checked it. He thoroughly tested the controls on the machine to prove that they were not the problem. I know that intermittent problems are tough to find. Mike shared his suspicions on what was causing both issues (transmission) and also said that if this was the problem it probably would not be cost effective to replace the transmission even thought the parts are still available. We also discussed why repairing would be a good idea if we wanted to keep this machine instead of being subject to having to use a new high efficiency washer. His experience was the real help to us. Even though nothing was actually repaired I can't imagine a better service call.

My GE refrigerator and freezer was not working and I called Mike's Appliance Service at 9 AM. I received a prompt return call and Mike arrived at the appointed time. After a check of the refrigerator and freezer, Mike determined that the motherboard had malfunctioned. He fortunately carried the replacement motherboard on his truck and was able to make the repair on the spot. The price he quoted for the motherboard was actually cheaper than what I had found on the internet. The refrigerator and freezer are working perfectly. Mike provided excellent service at a fair price.

Paul was very professional and followed through on every detail of a complex stove top repair. I am an out-of-state- landlord and Paul worked with my tenant to schedule his visit and complete the repair. Definitely will use again in the future!

Our two-year-old GE washing machine abruptly stopped working--it would fill and would drain but wouldn't agitate. We found Mike's Appliance Service through Angie's List. Paul arrived promptly, took the time to evaluate the machine's problem carefully, and concluded that it needed a new motor and a new ECB. Parts and labor would cost between $320 and $470, he estimated, suggesting that buying a new machine might make more sense. We thanked him, sighed heavily, did our homework, and called Bray & Scarff to order a new washing machine, explaining the whole, sad story. The salesman there, rather than selling us another washing machine, urged us to call GE to tell them what had happened. Amazingly, it turned out that GE had found a problem with the motor and therefore would give us a new one. Paul came to install the new motor and ECB--but the washing machine still didn't work! He went away, did research, came back and worked on the machine again, and voila! Success at last. Throughout, Paul was professional, knowledgeable, courteous, and patient.

Mike's Appliance was great. They came out on the first day I was available to be at the house and were on time. Unfortunately, I can't remember the technician's name but he was friendly and worked quickly. They didn't have the part on hand to fix my washing machine but were back the next day to fix it. I was quite happy with the service.

I called and spoke with Paul. He was able to come the same day I called and identified the problem. He ordered the parts we needed replaced, and told me the price. He returned 2 days later and completed the job. Everything went smoothly and he explained everything and was very pleasant to deal with. He worked efficiently and I thought the price was reasonable.

I called Mike's Appliances and talked to Paul. He was very nice to deal with, and we scheduled a time for him to come look at the oven. He quickly figured out the problem and ordered the part. He returned later in the week to remove the faulty part and install the new part. Both times he came, he gave me a 3 hr window, and called me about 15 minutes before he arrived to the house. He was friendly and easy to deal with, and very punctual. The price was great too. Overall, I'm very satisfied with the work.

Service provider (Paul) arrived on time, in the evening, one day after we called. He had the parts he needed and fixed the dryer in a matter of minutes. The locking oven was a lot trickier - but Paul was unphased and tried several different ways to get the oven door to open, including snaking a wire hanger through the top lid of the door to try and trip the lock. (We ended up flipping the circuit breaker controlling the oven on and off and that did the trick - try it yourself before calling anyone!) Paul was great and seemed to charge a reasonable price and was able to fix the dryer easily without replacing anything big. We just can't say for sure if the price was great because we never had this problem before, nor have we gotten an estimate from anyone else. Only complaint: He charged a little extra for having to come into DC, and would not waive that - even though we are closer to Frederick than many areas in montgomery county, for which there is no extra fee.

When you call for an appointment they give you an approximate time. About 20 minutes before they are coming they call to let you know. He is a very nice guy. There is no fooling around, he is good.
