I called this contractor since it says in the information guide that Washington DC is part of the service area; I called and left a message; he called back 20 mins later and I missed the call. I called him back and asked about services for Racoon removal in Washington DC and he told me he doesn't do work in Washington DC. This is not the first time I have called a contractor and they tell me they don't work in DC even though it is listed - might be helpful to have accurate descriptions of the work area covered - so as not to waste people's time? Good idea?

Couldn't be more pleased with the result, the time it took, or the price. I'm glad to have his card for future reference!
Description of Work: A neighbor reported they saw a possum crawling into my garage, and sure enough I saw a hole chewed in the corner of the box of an old, artificial Christmas tree that was stored in the garage rafters. I checked Angie's list for recommendations on local companies, and called Chris Knott. He returned my cell phone message within 15 minutes and we scheduled an appointment for the middle of the next day. He said if he could catch the critter at home, he could trap him then and remove him for $65. A couple hours later I got a call from Chris - he'd had a cancellation and was in my neighborhood. I was home, so he came by and was able to trap the animal and remove it that afternoon despite precarious footing in my garage - and all less than 7 hours after I left my first message, for the price quoted.

I called Chris after a skunk sprayed our house. We could only smell the skunk and did not see it but we wanted to have it removed if it was still hanging around near our house. Chris responded promptly to my call and came out the same day for a consultation. On the phone he was very clear about what his services included and his pricing structure. During the consultation he appeared very knowledgeable about the wildlife in the area and their behavior and habits. Although he seemed to be the type who is probably happy to just get on with the job, he was very patient about answering all the questions I had. He said he could see signs of the skunk trying to burrow under our house and also found a groundhog burrow in our backyard. Chris recommended ways to prevent the animals from digging again and offered to set a couple traps if that was what I wanted. At NO time was there any pressure to take on and pay for any additional services. Although from our conversation it seemed the animals had likely left and maybe gone down to the woods for the winter I decided to have him set some traps anyway. Chris also put a little mini stake fence along our back fence as a temporary deterrent. Nothing was caught in the traps though we kept them out for about 10 days, but I don't think this was a reflection on Chris's ability to catch wildlife, just that they had already left our yard on their own. I found Chris to be highly professional, excellent at responding quickly and keeping in touch and very knowledgeable about his field. I would definitely recommend him.
Description of Work: Consultation for removal of a skunk. Two traps set and later removed. Installation of a temporary animal deterrent (essentially a sort of mini fence) along part of our back fence.
