Went surprisingly well for our house which is over 100 years old. I talked to numerous companies before deciding on Home Breakthrough and I picked them because their pricing seemed most reasonable and also because Francisco both cared about our project and was totally trustworthy. Throughout the project, the rest of our house was kept spotless and all the workers were reliable and professional. The bathroom looks great and the project was on budget. What more can you ask for?

We had a confirmed appointment for Francisco to come and give us a quote/proposal to remodel our kitchen and two bathrooms. He never showed up, never called.

My highest recommendations for the Home Breakthrough crew! From our first meeting onward, Francisco demonstrated integrity and commitment to quality. I was won over when he explained the process he would follow for removing and replacing our aged hardwood floors. As my Capitol Hill rowhouse is over 100 years old - with the old hardwood flooring nailed directly onto the joists - we agreed the 'right way' to do the job would be to pull everything out, box and level the joists, put down a plywood subfloor (with screws, not nails!), and then install the new hardwood on top. Francisco was also very upfront about some of the obstacles we may run into when doing this type of work in an old house, which was much appreciated. Francisco was in regular contact and set a positive tone for this project. The HB team followed through with competency and masterful craftsmanship. The guys worked there butts off... seemingly non-stop for 2 weeks. We couldn't be happier with our new floors, and can't wait for our next project with Home Breakthrough!

Company was mostly interested in selling me a new kitchen. When they learned that I was not going to renovate in the near future, they lost interest and I never received the 3D renderings for my kitchen.

Home Breakthrough had done a major renovation on my home three years ago that turned out amazing, so I had them back to renovate my basement & an additional bathroom. They have done a great job again. They are easy to work with. They have a lot of great ideas ( it is like having a decorator/ designer/contractor all in one). They stand by their work. I couldn't ask for more.

Working with Francisco and his team at Home Breakthrough was a positive experience from start to finish. His initial quote to completely remodel my master bath was the lowest of the bids I got. But another -- equally important -- reason I picked him was because I sensed that he would be responsive and pleasant to work with, which he was! With his expertise and years of working in this field, he was able to tell me what is commonly done/not done in modern bathrooms as well explain clearly what would be needed in order to accomplish what I wanted. He asked great questions and made many constructive suggestions, but never took control of the project away from me. I got exactly the bathroom I had visualized and it was finished in the timeframe he promised. One thing that customers need to be aware of is that the estimate/bid you will receive is for the labor only. The materials, fixtures, and other supplies will be additional costs and they can add up quickly, especially if you chose high-end materials. This is not unique to Home Breakthrough – many good contractors work this way and it makes a lot of sense because the customer can control how much they want to spend on certain items such as vanity, tiles, plumbing fixtures, etc. Francisco helped me make my selections but it was totally up to me whether I wanted to buy these items from high-end or medium-priced or lower-priced vendors. The surprise for me was how many other items are involved that are not really open to choice, such as the pipes, valves, fittings, adhesives, grout, etc. that also really add up. These items would have needed to be purchases regardless of which contractor I chose, so this is not a negative comment, but just a heads-up not to be surprised when the initial bid turns out to be just a starting point and not the bottom line for what you will ultimately spend. I love how much this company cares about their customer. They do high quality work and take pride in it. It is backed up with a 6-year warranty, which says a lot, especially since the competition offered only a 1-year warranty.

Very well. Three men worked very hard (about 12 hours!) and finished the job in one day.

We like their approach - they provide labor costs up front that they stick to and we picked out and paid for the materials separately. Overall it went well and we are pleased with the outcome. They had to redo the shower floor at their cost because water would pool and not drain. But Francisco (the owner) offered good advice and guidance especially in the planning stages. The overall cost did exceed our expectations by about 20% but the finished project made us happy. On a scale of 10, they were about a 6 or 7...

The work was professionally done to high standards and completed on schedule at a fair price. The workers were always on time, curteous and always asked us to ensure things were done how we expected them to be done. A few change orders were fairly priced and handled promptly with no bureaucracy.

Francisco and his team were professional, courteous and very responsive. They also worked with Reico in Bethesda to come up with a beautiful design that worked for our small galley kitchen, creating a pass through that completely opened up the room and brought a lot more light in. The team displayed a lot of attention to small details, and a level of craftsmanship that seems unusual among a lot of home remodelers.. Home Breakthrough was very up-front about any unexpected but necessary costs (like the floor was rotting in the kitchen and needed to be rebuilt). They worked to minimize disruption to our household, and worked to keep the job affordable for us. They were generally pleasant to deal with.

In a word, phenomenal. For the last several years I've wanted to install my ideal dream basement bathroom in my current home. Since it was just bare concrete and drain plumbing to start, I was able to build EXACTLY what I wanted. Francisco and team helped me build that exact vision. I knew 85% of how it needed to be done, but with his added consultation on the proper fixtures, brands to use, and even some additional ideas I was able to have it executed perfectly. I had what I think were some difficult asks (custom slate for the entire shower, linear drain, multiple showerheads, unique molding/trim). Everything was done how I wanted and there was constant communication with him the entire time. If I needed something modified they were able to do it without an issue. However this was rare as I was always consulted before any large items were installed or tasks performed. They are coming back later this year for additional projects.
