Contractor conducted measurements, explained the cost and how it would be a two person job. Assured me the work could be done in about 4-5 hours. He stated he would turn in the work invoice estimate that day and we would here from them in a few days. I did not hear back from anyone at Handyman Matters, for sometime, so I called their offices, I was informed the job was too big for them, so they were not able to take the job, and offered another contractor for the job, but the company they suggested does not do any installations. From the moment I reached out to and scheduled the in house measurements, I was clear I needed the door, sidelights, and molding replaced. According to their web site, - "Our Craftsman can repair and replace your door frames, window trim and hardware. We can also upgrade your doors and windows to more energy-efficient models." - "when it comes time to assigning someone to your project, not only do we schedule the craftsman most skilled for your particular job, we also ensure that they will be competent, experienced employees, who will have your best interest in mind." Seems the craftsman they sent was not skilled or competent enough to identify a job that is over the head of his company. In addition seems the company overstates its ability. To save money contractor suggested on replacing only sections needing replacement due to rotting even though I was clear on wanting to replace everything, For a company that has been around for about 20 years, and is a franchised organization across the country would know from the start if the level of job is beyond its scope and not after measurements with an invoice is charged. The founder touts their craftsman are experts in his messaging, but when it comes to a simple front door, frame, sidelights, and molding. Why such a big disconnect between Handyman Matters and the contractor they employed. This cost me $125.00, and a wasted day away from work.

Handyman basically removed and reinstalled area of siding that had shifted to the point that a piece had come away from the edge molding that holds it in place so it was flapping away from the house at one end. Replaced another piece that had fallen completely off and broke when it hit the driveway. Looks like new.

The tasks were all completed with very professional quality work, and within the estimated time frame. Craftsman was very capable, friendly, and we felt the service provided was excellent. Scheduling with the company was also excellent. Would highly recommend this company to others.

Overall, the installations went well. A few adjustments needed to be made on the sink/drain/faucet and the mirror was slightly loose and a little crooked but they came back out and adjusted everything.

I would never use them again. It was horrible and ridiculous. I called them and left a message and on Monday, I called them again. The owner said he was getting ready to call me back. I described exactly what needs to be done and wanted it done correctly. We scheduled a time for him to come and he insisted on coming the next morning. I planned to go to Home Depot to get some stuff, but I was running late. I found out the material I wanted is not available, but it was after hours. I left a message asking him not to send anyone out. The next morning someone came and I let them know I left a message and paid them the visit fee. I called the company and the representative yelled at me for not having work for the handyman they sent out. My husband got on the phone and told the rep to stop yelling. I gave him a check for coming out and he insisted that he at least caulk the door. I told him several times very politely that he can just leave. Finally, I hear banging and he was doing the job totally wrong. Now I am the one that has to undo what he did to my porch and the side of the house. They did not respect the customer. They insist doing it their own way. They don't know what they are doing. I asked other professionals and they all knew what they were supposed to do.

Work was completed in timely manner. No complaints

I could not have asked for an easier or more professional experience. Initial call to signing off on the repair was done in the space of 5 hours. Very straightforward.

I could not be more pleased with the services performed by Handyman Matters of Frederick. First, when I called in the woman who answered the phone (sorry, I am terrible with names) was very friendly and very helpful. We talked about what I wanted done, where I was located and how they estimated the work to be done and their pricing. She asked that I send her several pictures of the work to be done and they would estimate the same. This was on a Wednesday. They called on Thursday with an estimate, which I accepted and they came out to the do the work on a Friday. Very impressive. The professional who did the work was named Dave. What I really appreciated, was that Dave and I went over the work to be done and agreed on the same almost immediately. No trying to do more work then was necessary and over-pricing the job. I was given an estimate to do the job and Dave stayed within that pricing. The woman, that I talked to previously, advised that to purchase materials, the pricing would be no more than one hour of labor time charged and Dave was within that estimate as well. Dave did very nice work. He very much wanted to do a good job and make sure that I was happy with the final product. Dave replaced the material so that it exactly matched the retaining wall that was in place previously. Further, I had the coupon that was on the Angie's List site. When I was giving the owner (again, terrible with names, sorry) my credit card information, I mentioned the coupon and he accepted it no questions asked. He even mentioned it to Dave so that it was included when determining the final bill. Again, impressive. Note, the owner was very friendly and very personable. Very easy to deal with and came across as a regular guy. In the end, the work was done timely, exactly as they estimated and billed accordingly. In this day and age, it is not easy to find a vendor who charges a reasonable rate and does good and honest work. That is exactly what Handyman Matters of Frederick did for me.

Awesome. Responded to inquiry immediately. Accommodated my schedule and weather concerns. Made the right paint choice for us and very efficient in painting the fence.

They actually did not preform the work. They contacted Frederick glass company who actually came out and installed the glass.

Came out did the measurements. Said they would email one. Never got an estimate. I sent a follow up email, but no estimate, which is fine I would not use them anyway. Maybe the job was too small. Its a $140 lesson.

I love using this company. I used their website to make a request on Monday night, and on Tuesday morning, they called me at 9:15am, and I had a handyman at my house by 10:45am. This company is very responsive and very customer service oriented. Their prices are market competitive. The handyman, Dave, was very nice and respectful of my home. He estimated it to be a 2 hour job, and he was done in about 1 hour. Dave clearly explained his plans to complete the job and worked hard.

Called Handyman Matters, they able to fit me in with short notice and made scheduling very easy. The service man was punctual, professional and did a great job with the repair. It was more expensive than I hoped, but drywall repairs and hourly rates are not a great mix... you have to apply, wait for it dry and then re-apply... nature of the beast I suppose. At the end of the day, I was glad that it was done and would call them again for drywall issues in tough locations like this one. I also received a follow-up call after the service to assure that I was satisfied... that finishing touch was greatly appreciated!

Fabulous experience beginning to end. Mike was right on time, got to work right away, and finished the work an hour ahead of schedule. Everything was done very well and he gave me good advice on not mounting my flat screen TV to the plaster wall. I would absolutely hire him again the next time I have work that needs to be done.

I explained my problem to Ed (the owner) and he gave me an estimate, but warned me that due to the unpredictable weather, the handyman may not get to perform the job and if i still wanted him to send his guy. I really wanted to get the window secured before all the bad weather/hurricane coming in. I prayed for good weather, but still rained when Glen came promptly when Ed said he would get there. He assessed my problem within a few minutes- whoever put the window in never secured the top of the window properly... And his estimate was right on with Ed's. Despite the rain, Glen climbed his tall ladder and secured the window. It took several attempts to reattach the window as close as possible and close the gap. He did a beautiful job recaulking and it looks great! What a wonderful gentleman! Any other problems I will be calling Handyman Matters first!

Handyman Matters was very easy to work with. I like that they only charge by the 15 minute interval instead of half hours or hours like we were quoted by other services. When they removed our frame, there was some extra time left on the clock so he looked at some other problems we had and gave us quotes and what it would take to fix it, which was nice. My only complaint was that I assumed they would reattach the door and it would look as it did before. We told them we would touch up any paint that needed it, but all the nail holes needed wood putty, there were gaps in the frame, and between the walls. It looked very sloppy. We then had to go out and buy the caulk and wood putty to fix that and paint overtop. Not what I was expecting. Maybe we should have been more clean but when you are asked to remove something and reattach same as before, wouldn't you assume it should look as nice as it did before? Even if it needed painting? We would use them again, but I would be more specific next time.

The professional technician was Mr. Jim Williams. He showed up 10 minutes before scheduled time (which pleased my wife and myself since so many people nowadays have forgotten the meaning of time and punctuality). Mr.. Williams projected and executed utmost professionalism: (a) How he executed his professional techniques. (b) His clarity in explaining what he was doing and why he did certain things. I totally appreciated how didactic he was in responding to our questions. I was also pleased that he was honest in his responses. He made some suggestions (related to the gutters) that would ameliorate ongoing and future clogging problems. I have no doubt that Mr. Williams will be visiting again not just for aforesaid items (a), (b), and (c), but for other issues that will definitely come up in the future. To reiterate, the garage doors is a future issue since I have some priorities that should be done soon. I would not hesitate in recommending Mr. Jim Williams to my neighbors and friends. These guys are the best! Ed and Mary are so responsive and get someone out as soon as possible. And the handymen- I can't say enough about them- they arrive on time, do the work well- and are polite and friendly and thorough. The best handyman service I have ever used- hands down!

The service was excellent. I called to inquire that morning, got a quote, and Mike came that very afternoon and did the work. Mike was very friendly and professional. He went over the work with me, did the job, and cleaned up very well. He also gave me a quote on hours for another job I want to have done. I and so happy that I called. I will definitely call them in the future.

John has done excellent work; he is on time, provides an estimate that is pretty much dead on- and does what it takes to get the job done. Excellent work- I won't go to any other handyman service. Reasonably priced- and I trust them implicitly to do the job, whatever the task, correctly. Great Handyman Service!
