+ -1 moreStefan is a real pro, he fixed up the piece of roof that was rotting and fixed it so that water didn't collect there by adding a cricket. He also found that our bathroom vent was going directly into the eves and the moisture was rotting out the wood. He put in a new vent for the cost of the vent. It even poured rain when they put the roof up and they kept it totally dry under tarps and finished the same day.
Description of Work: Our roof was old, and shingles were either gone or coming off in several places. The gutters were also long overdue for replacement. There was also a section of roof over a porch that had rotten boards. Some miscellaneous soffits and flashing also needed replacing.

Description of Work: I could not be more pleased with the new roof installed on my house and detached garage by Frederick Roof Repair. Stefan Mach and his crew were highly skilled, professional and efficient and performed every detail exactly as promised. The work and materials were top-notch, the job was done right; clean-up was meticulous. Stefan is the kind of business owner you would like to deal with on every project. I say business owner, not businessman, because he is not a businessman, he is a roofer. The first time we met, I could tell he knew everything there is to know about the subject, including the pricey "systems" that some other companies offer, and and where they were or were not effective or relevant to my needs. He was generous with his time and expertise and offered to do more for the lowest price. He was on site personally directing the crew, answering my questions and theirs as issues came up. We had a particular problem coordinating with the Electric Company to disconnect the power for the day, due to the way the line into the house hung over the roof. Stefan went to their office in person and got the situation resolved so that the project could proceed on schedule the next day. He truly went the extra mile. I can wholeheartedly recommend this company.

He kept me inform with his progress and he came on the date promised. He checked out the roof and the pipe. He caulk the pipe and the seams to prevent leakage. He took photos for me to see what he did. He always explain to me about the roof issues because I like to learn for any future problems that might arise. I recommend Stefan if you need any roof repair or a new roof.

He also provided us with addresses to ride by and look at some various types we were considering. The roof was completed in one day as promised, with the spouting done within a couple day which exceeded our expectations. We are extremely pleased with our roof and spouting. The crew was outstand, or I should say amazing. To say they were efficient would be an understatement. I stood outside watching them in all for a few hours. I would highly recommend you consider Frederick Roof Repair for your roofing needs. You may find another roofer that exceeds your expectations as did Stephon for us. If you want the very best - this is it.
Description of Work: Our roof, fascia, spouting & downspouts were replaced. The roof was completed in on day as promised with the spouting done within a couple of days which exceeded our expectations. The clean up was fantastic and we did not have one piece of debris to pick up.

Work was performed exactly as he said it would be and right on cost (no "surprises"). All mess cleaned up when work was completed. Finished product looks great AND works great! Call Stefan if you need roofing, period.
Description of Work: Just joined Angie's list and had to go back and find these guys and offer a "review" although it's been about 18 months ago the work was completed. Had our 20 year old roof shingles/sheeting materials replaced along with all the flashings around chimney and pipes. Also had a vent cut into the top of the attic to allow better ventilation. Removal of all old shingles and trash.

I've yet to meet a contractor who explains how roofing works and the causes for damage. Stephan's also an honest man--he tells you how much things will cost and there's never a surprise element in what he does. He's also very customer focused and is highly responsible. There are lots of contractors out there who will fix your roof...and most may either over-charge you or do a poor job...or even both. Both not Stephan Mach--he's the perfect guy for the job and an asset to all Frederick (and beyond) homeowners! One of the best people you should trust with the thing you value most--your own home!
Description of Work: This was Frederick Roof Repair's second major project for my townhome and I cannot think of ever working with another vendor to fix a roof....EVER! Stephan Mach is the best roofer I've met and he's extremely knowledgeable and easy to work with when it comes to repairing that thing over your head! Stephan first replaced a piece of a damage ridge vent during a storm in 2011. Back then, he advised that we eventually replace the entire ridge vent as he felt the one put on by the crew that built out home lacked the proper safeguards to keep leaks out. At the time of the original repair, he offered to replace the entire vent at a reduced rate at a future date so long as I reminded him of the deal. Well, that day came and when I called Stephan, he honored the deal and replaced the entire ridge vent for the cost quoted nearly two years ago.

+ -1 moreI had a bunch of storm damage in the summer, starting looking for a roofer. I got 4 quotes ranging from 6-14k. (One was 6k, the others were 10-14k). I didn't have a good vibe about the response time and the lack of communication. I actually wanted to talk to the roofer, not to an office assistant. So I looked on Angie's and saw this guy, checked out his website, and I liked his matter of fact approach and straight talk. So i called and actually Stefan Mach answered the phone. Wow, I am talking to the roofer!! sweet. So we talked about all the details, what costs a lot, what is the right way to do a roof, etc. Man, I like this guy. Then he gave me a quote that was around 9k, and I asked for the skylights and roof fans, which were about $800 his cost, he said he would buy and install them for $1000. Plus he upgraded the drip edge and some other details to prevent leakage and improve the longevity of the roof. Did the whole job in 1 day, plus a stellar cleanup. It was a pleasure having a regular guy who knows his business, and gives a great deal and great service.
Description of Work: I had a complete roof replacement (not the sub-structure) with architectural shingles. Stefan Mach is a great guy to work with, very professional, knows the trade very well. He made a few recommendations that improved the quality of my roof without increasing the price. He also installed new skylights and roof fans at a fraction of the cost to have third party do it. His crew pays attention to the details, replacing the vent boots, flashing, etc. We ran into some weather issues for several weeks in a row, and he communicated with me regularly about his schedule and the changes. Very pleased with the quality and speed. Exceptional value and a very competitive price.

Stefan allowed me to purchase my own bundle of shingles so I would have them on hand for a future repair if needed and gave me a material discount. He took time to explain why I had a leak and how the shingles were installed. He glued and nailed the shingles so they will not be blown off. He suggested that based on the type of shingles I had which is no longer available. I will definitely recommend him if anyone needs a roofer. Thank you Stefan!
Description of Work: Stefan did a roof repair. I had some shingles blown off from the Sandy storm. He re-caulked around the exhaust pipe because I had a leak from the storm.

+ -1 moreStefan came out one day after calling in my problem and had the job fixed in no time. He was prompt, efficient, and did impeccable work. Just an honest business leader who enjoys his work and gives you a fair deal.
Description of Work: After a horrible wind storm, Stefan came to my house to replace a loose vent on the top of my house. He also fixed a bunch of shingles and pointed out an area that will need addressing in the future. What I liked most about Stefan is that he's honest, reliable, and to the point. When he pointed out a long term potential problem for my roof, he told me it wasn't an immediate issue and that I would wait to finish some other major projects before calling him again. Anyone else would have probably told me I needed it done right away, but Stefan listened to me and told me to focus my attention on the home improvement projects that were more of a priority. He's a great guy and is all about giving you the best in service at a decent price. I can't think of anyone else I would call for a roof job!

+ -1 moreThe crew (nine people) arrived at 6:20am and was on the roof with work started by 6:30am. They laid tarps outside to pick up debris and were very clean. Stefan suggested installing a new skylight since ours was close to the end of its lifetime and an attic fan. These additions did not add substantially to the cost. He provided a roof quote when he came to see the house and that was the price. It was thousands of dollars less than the two competing quotes I received and the material was top quality.

The workmanship is excellent and the work was well organized and efficient. I chose Frederick Roof Repair based on cost and the time Stefan took to explain the estimate and material choices with me. He involved me in the decision process and moved quickly to achieve project completion. They also did a nice job of cleaning up after themselves.
Description of Work: Stefan replaced the metal roof on the wrap around patio, replaced a rubber roof on the addition of the house and replaced a shingle roof on the smoke house next to the main house.
