Completed project is fantastic. Rich very responsive to ideas and questions. His people are very professional and do a good job. Created absolutely gorgeous great room with vinyl plank flooring and expert painting. Added bar, dishwasher, and bar fridge from 3rd party retailer which was more expensive than expected but looks fantastic. Also added den with closet and finished storage room. Did a very nice job opening up the stairwell with added banister. Tiled bathroom shower and vanity. Electricians also provided cable,ethernet drops and cable to garage for future car charging. Plumbers were first class. All work passed county inspections without any issues.

We had to reorder buttress glass due to engineering problems. Other projects have gone great

Rich did a great job making our small powder room into a wonderful full bath. We had some complicated space issues but he was creative and figured out how to make the bathroom into what we needed. He was very professional and completed the project in a timely fashion. The contractors he used were also very professional and friendly. If we came across any issues, Rich addressed them immediately. We would definitely use him for other projects!

Rich and his team did a great job on the basement renovation. Rich came up with a design just as I had requested. The project started on time and completed within the estimated time frame he gave us. Most importantly, the project stayed within the budget that was set at the beginning. He was also very flexible with small design changes as the project progressed. The worksite was kept clean throughout the project, and the rest of the house was protected while the project was in progress. Rich's communication was great, always responding in a timely matter and making clear who would be working on the project on any given day. Overall, we are very satisfied with the Rich, the attention to detail, and the outcome of the project.

We are very happy with the end result and the way the whole project went. From the beginning, Rich Cochrane (the owner) was very responsive, patient and flexible when we repeatedly asked him for estimates with different options since it took us a while to decide on the final plans and renovation project. We got quotes from several other contractors and he came in noticeably lower so we took our chances after reading the great reviews from previous customers. Of course the cost of the whole project ended up being more than originally thought, but we were kind of expecting it because of the scope of the project. He had no issue letting us do the demolition so we could save a little bit of money. He and his crew are very friendly, professional, reliable, detailed, and they took whatever measures were necessary to make sure that we were satisfied with their work. They protected the rest of our house as best as possible from the dust and mess that come with such a project. We will definitely hire Cochrane Construction and Design again in the future.

I can not say enough good things about my experience with Cochrane Construction and design. I contacted Rich Cochrane about having new counter-tops, sink and appliances installed in my kitchen as well as installing a gas fireplace with surrounding built-ins in my living room. Rich responded promptly, came to the house to discuss the project and provided me with a very accurate and reasonably priced estimate. Once he started working on the project, I was immediately impressed with attention to detail and communication skills. He worked with me to make sure that the design was exactly what I had envisioned and made sure every aspect of the project was done right and of the highest quality. I will definitely be calling Rich for all my future remodeling needs.

Project went great. We are 2 years into our new basement and love everything about it. Communication with Rich was great and all of the contractors brought in were very professional, helpful and listened to our needs to make everything as perfect as can be. Highly recommend for any basement remodel or other projects around the house.

The quote was fair. It was fair priced for the work. They were quick to provide it. I would recommend them because of their responsiveness.

Rich was very easy to work with, and is a contractor with a high degree of integrity. We live in a 1971 house with a basement that had a few code issues. Rich was proactive in identifying these and coming up with a strategy to avoid issues with the county on inspections with little to no financial impact. The work took a little longer than we planned, in part due to some decisions made during the renovation, but Rich and his team were on task while on the job. The contractors were very courteous, and never presented a problem to us while working. The finished project looks great, with almost everything being as specified or better compared to the original contract. What's truly impressive is that Rich has shown commitment to ensuring his work stays looking good as it goes through its first year of aging. I can't say enough about how easy Rich was to work with. He was patient, and made it feel like no question was a bother. I would work with him again.

Excellent. Took a little while to get the job scheduled, but good contractors are in high demand.

Price was on par with other contractors quoted. Rich and his team were very meticulous. You will not have to worry about checking up on any projects if Rich and his team are working on them. They have a distinct appreciation for quality. Always on time, very professional and Very good at communication throughout the project. Hiring Rich allowed my endeavor to be literally turn key. I am incredibly pleased with the results, and would surely call Rich again for future jobs!

Rich was professional and knowledgeable. His scope of work and pricing was very competitive. After much deliberation we went with another company but we will certainly ask Rich to bid on any future jobs we have. In fact one more comment - Rich has great communication and follow up skills. I am convinced he would have delivered a great result.

We tried to get 4 estimates, and all the others flaked on providing it or were difficult to follow-up with. Rich stood out because he was responsive, punctual, polite, and his expertise was obvious. We decided to go in a different direction but we wouldn't hesitate to use Rich in the future.

Rich Cochrane, his workers and contractors were all personable and professional. I was amazed at how the rough-in for the plumbing, running through the wall from the basement to the attic, was completed in a single morning - the plumbing team really knew their stuff. Ignacio, the backbone of the project, did the framing, sheetrock, and painting with quiet competence. Electrical team, vinyl installers all wonderful, thoughtful and responsive to work with. The project was completed in just a few days, with minimal disruption to our home.

Rich is a very professional business man. We had wanted to redo two old bathrooms with a new face lift, new fixtures, many improvements. HIs estimates are very well thought out and very well written. He is punctual and seems to know his stuff. In the end,after much deliberating with myself, I wanted him to come into a cleanly demolished area, install all plumbing, electrical and dry wall, and leave me with a room ready for the finishing. I have acess to free labor to do the grunt work of demolishing and the finishing work. Since my funds are limited, I would be foolish to NOT accept this free labor. Rich chose not to work with me on these terms. I can respect his decision to not take on a job where he does not have complete control of the entire situation,and I can throughly understand his position. On top of that, his proposal got lost somewhere in the bowels of my computer and I cannot find it anywhere! I think he may have been a little insulted. It was a very thorough proposal. I was disappointed to have him dismiss my business, but he has a level of involvement and integrity that he is choosing to protect. I see no reason to discredit him for it. By all means, call him. I feel that he is a professional in what he does and I am certain that his work would have been just fine. HIs proposal seemed to be in line with many others. He just did not want to work with me , and that is his choice for his business.

We interviewed and got estimates from numerous contractors before hiring Rich Cochrane, and couldn't be happier. Rich is very professional, personable, and eager to handle any and all issues that came up during construction. He is also honest, gave us a fair and reasonable estimate for construction, and stuck to it. We have a house built in 1924 and hired Rich to finish the unfinished basement and install a new bathroom (sink, toilet, tub). We liked working with Rich because he respected our tight budget and allowed us to do the work ourselves where we could (we tiled the bathroom and did all the painting ourselves to save money). We had some changes in plans along they way, but Rich was always fair, patient, and easily accessible. His carpenters, electrician, and plumber were also great guys that are easy to work with.

His workers did an excellent job removing tile, putting up tile, replacing fixtures, and toilets, and painting.the three bathrooms in under 2 weeks. Very happy with the results.An excellent job again

I had Cochrane Construction and Design construct from nothing a bathroom, craft room and closet in my basement. Once the start date was selected Rich moved swiftly ahead scheduling his team to do framing, rough in, drywall and flooring. The painter and porcelain man was Ignacio. The framer was Derek. Both men were creative, hardworking, diligent and precise and excellent. The plumber, Vance was pleasant, humorous and outstanding in his field. Despite 4 snow storms they managed to finish on time in two weeks. I wouldn't hesitate to hire Rich and team again In fact, right now I'm completing a list of things for them to do. A simply excellent job!

The service went great. They came out, they were pretty accurate with the quote what they found it was gonna come to, did the work and they stayed on the budget.

I want to finish my basement to include a bathroom, a storage/laundry room and the rest would mostly be open. I contacted several Angie's list A-rated contractors. Rich responded promptly. He came to my house, took a look at the basement and provided an detailed estimate 2 days later. He was flexible and provided options for some items. Even though he has fewer comments on the Angie's list, I decided to work with Rich for the project. The reason why it eventually didn't work out is that, even though his estimate was detailed, I guess it is still not detail enough to include many items that I thought would be included in the original cost estimate. So this could be only a communication problem. This is also something I was worried about would happen before I chose him. For example, there is no existing rough-in for the bathroom. The basement floor is flat and sewage pipe location is good. Rich has seen the layout of the basement more than once. But after his plumber saw the basement, Rich came back asking for $500 more for the bathroom. I couldn't figure out why his original estimate couldn't account for the true cost of bathroom. There is a closet under the stairs. The original estimate didn't mention anything about it. When we asked what he would do with it, Rich opened the closet and realized he would need to add dry wall under the stairs to meet the code. He said he need to charge for that. Also in the original estimate there was no mention of the 3 old windows although we clearly discussed about replacing them. When I asked about the windows, of course there is extra cost to replace them, which is not included in the original cost estimate. Since I don't know exactly everything that need to be done or included in a contract, the fair price Rich initially offer quickly added up to be more expensive than others when we finalize the plan. I have to say that throughout the whole process, Rich was professional and courteous.

I was very impressed with the knowledge Rick provided. He is willing to work with me on what I want done and explained why he would do some things certain ways. He could answer every question I had. Seems like he would be very easy to work with. 10/25/14: The kitchen and bathroom remodeling was excellent. He communicated with me very well in terms of what I should expect, and updated frequently. Any issues I may have had he took care of immediately, and the job was completed on time. He's a great guy.
