Description of Work: David Myers, the owner of Boonsboro Clock Company, has had a number of health issues lately, as has his wife and mother. Dave himself is, in my opinion, experiencing mid-stage dementia. I have had two experiences with him, both of which have had negative outcomes. First, I got a recommendation for him and called him to fix my grandfather s clock. He took the movement, including the weights, back to his shop. However, a glitch occurred when I called him and he said he couldn t find the weights. He claimed that I had them, and that he never took them. To make a long story short, eventually he realized that he had given the weights for my clock to someone else. Another customer. So he returned the weights and the movement and set up the clock. It was working for some time. The second incident involved a French crystal regulator. I gave it to him to perform a routine reburbishing. After almost a year, I began calling him to ask about the clock. Every time he said it was ready, and that he would drop it off at my wife s store the next week. This went on for 5 weeks. Finally he dropped it off. But the clock did not have the same movement that it did when I gave it to him. It was a bell striker, but he returned it with a gong, and, as if that wasn t enough, the gong didn t even strike properly. So I called him yet again, and yet again he came up with another excuse. I would never, never, ever trust this man with another clock of mine.
