Bob Nichols Paving

Bob and his team were a pleasure to work with. I was very selective on who I was going to hire to remove and replace my driveway and very glad that we chose Bob Nichols Paving. We also needed a new front walkway installed and was glad to find out that Bob's team specializes in concrete and masonry work as well. Bob personally came over multiple times to answer questions, explain the process to us, and work out the design details of the new front walkway. Bob offered the best price and best material of the three quotes that we received. Our next door neighbor ended up having their driveway removed and replaced on the same day and another neighbor two days later. We continue to receive compliments on the new driveway and front walkway pavers.

Bob the owner personally showed up to give me his quote and was responsive to all questions. He was present and worked during paving job. His price was better than other quotes I received and the work was top notch

Bob was very prompt & polite when returning my call. Came to look at the job the next day & gave me a price that I thought was very reasonable. Job was finished that same week.

Bob was a pleasure to work with. From the moment we booked our job he stayed in touch with us and answered all of our questions and made sound recommendations. The day of our job he led his large professional team as they resurfaced our driveway. Our next door neighbor had theirs done at the same time and Bob carefully monitored each task and inspected as if he was doing his own driveway. Bottom line our new driveway looks amazing and well worth the money we spent. I highly recommend Bob Nichols and if I ever need paving work again, he will be my first and only call.

Prompt, pricey but worth it

Everything started out fine when I first decided to choose Bob Nichols Paving, but I didn't like that I had to keep calling him to confirm the date of when the work would be done. After the date was confirmed, the workers didn't arrive on the day they were supposed to. The contractor blamed it on the asphalt not being ready. They arrived 3 days later, and began the work. The workers assigned seemed to spend more time smoking and taking breaks than having to complete the work that I was told would take about 3 hours and it took all day. I was asked if I wanted to keep some of the dirt to use as soil. They ended up leaving a ton of dirt which was more than I wanted to keep, and I had to end up digging up quite a bit of dirt that lead from the door of my fence to the asphalt. As for the extended driveway, the ground wasn't evened out so there is a small incline to park the car, which is not what I expected. Bob Nichols didn't even check in with me after the job was completed. I had to call him, again. This is not what I epxected.

I had Bob Nichols do a small paving job on our driveway. His crew was hard-working and professional and they did an outstanding job at a reasonable price. I can't recommend Bob Nichols Paving highly enough.

It has been about a year since this work was completed. The review was delayed to ensure the quality of the work. The work involved repaving half of a very large driveway and parking area and adding drainage control. It looks as good today as it did a year ago. Bob did not skimp on materials as in my experience many pavers do (I have a lot of experience). The overall quality of the work was and still is excellent. The reason the quality is not 5 stars is that the tack coat was not applied using industry best practices (as I understand them).

Bob Nichols Paving recently repaired and repaved our driveway. We got proposals from 4 different contractors and Bob’s ideas made the most sense and his price was very fair. Bob had repaved our neighbor’s driveway 3 years ago and we were impressed by how good it looked after that time. For our home, a long stretch of driveway was completely rebuilt and the remaining driveway was repaved. The crew milled or cut out areas adjacent to the garage and walkways so that the new pavement was flush and did not have a water drainage issue. They also installed conduit for low voltage lines for lighting. All edges were nicely formed. Even for this rather large project, the work was completed in 1½ days. The crew was professional and courteous and Bob supervised the work the entire time. The driveway has performed beautifully and looks great. We had Bob back to apply an oil-base sealer. We are pleased to give Bob our highest recommendation.

I was promised a 8 year warranty but never received in writing. Advice: Get the contract signed and in writing and not to be pushed into doing the work without contract. Also warranty is a joke. Must hire them to do sealing every year at high price or no warranty as even other licensed "companies's sealant work may not up to our standard". Area covered should be in writing so the non sense such as that "I checked the county record and will have to remove the additional corner with gravel but not the original paved driveway without new permit" even though all neighbor's drive had the same corner covered and I asked the corner be covered initially before the work.

Bob Nichols is a matter of fact contractor who does not waste your time with needless chatter. He provided an estimate, listened to our concerns, made appropriate solutions, and was fast and thorough. When another job kept him from coming when he had scheduled, he called, explained the situation and asked if we would mind him coming a day or 2 later. No problem. His crew were neat and cleaned up after themselves. I would hire again.

Bobby Nichols came out to my home and repaired my existing driveway as well as extended it to increase parking. I interviewed 4 contractors and absolutely made the correct choice in hiring his company. He offered sound advice and his crew was professional. He stayed in close communication with us throughout the process. Did what he said he would do and showed up when he said he would. Our driveway looks spectacular and is a much better quality then even when it was originally done by the builder when our home was brand new. I couldn't be happier and would absolutely recommend him and his company again. As a Realtor..I know that I will have ample opportunity to do just that and look forward to making many of my own clients as happy as I am.

They've done my driveway (layover and extension) in less than one day. I have a long driveway. There are lots of machinery and man powder Bob owns and utilizes. A great customer service and work well done. I highly recommended.

The paving of a long drive for 5 houses was generally well done. However, since the asphalt was laid on top of the original paving, the increased height created drainage problems. This was pointed out to the contractor at the time, and he fixed one of the problems, but not two others. He denied these were problems and got rather belligerent with one of the owners. He promised to come back and fix the problems, but has been unresponsive to several requests.

They came when they said they would and returned every phone call promptly. That's important to us; especially given our experience with the first company we contracted to do the job. The driveway looks really good. The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars for work quality is that, with paving, only time will tell how good a job they did. Right now I'd say I'd use them again and recommend them to others.

Bob Nichols Paving did an excellent job repairing and resurfacing our drive way. Bob and his crew were very professional and did a great job. His pricing was very reasonable. They did an outstanding job and are very meticulous in everything even the cleanup they did after. He even removed an old stump next to our driveway as a courtesy which was outside what he was contracted for. We will definitely use for all our paving needs!

They were there when they said and they completed when they said. I had a sudden time crunch...wanted it done in a small open window I had: between neighbors moving out and new ones moving in. Mr. Nichols perfectly coordinated the timing.
