B T Martin Contractors

They were very reasonable. They do outstanding work. They're great, very reasonably priced, and very professional. They really go through all of your options, laying out all of the options that are available to you. We were actually going to have them do the finishing work on the basement but we have too many, I just couldn't deal with multiple contractors with all the family things that were going on that time so we ended up having another company do the basement. We're perfectly happy with the work the other company did but B T Martin was outstanding too. One of the reasons we're having them in now is because I felt bad not having them finish the basement. I'm making sure whatever we're doing now, they're getting the work because they're very good.

The Martin brothers performed the work we agreed on, consulted with me about the parts (i.e., the carpentry) that could not be determined until the work was in progress, and did everything in a pleasant and professional manner. Perhaps not the cheapest guys around, but they don't try to be. The principals were onsite every minute of the job, not some random day laborers.

Dan and Ben Martin have been painting my houses, inside and out, for twenty years or so. For this job, they also had to perform fairly extensive wood replacement around the eaves and some of the doors and windows where rot had set in (21 year old wood). They did a great job, consulting with me about the trade-offs between cost and absolute perfection at regular intervals. They did stuff like pruning back some overgrown bushes (after asking me) to get access without complaining about it. Dan and Ben were onsite every day, sometimes with one or two helpers. I think these guys are excellent painters and darn good carpenters. They chose their materials carefully - Ben tested a brand new premium paint product on one door and then closed it up and returned it when it did not meet his standards. They have the right tools for their work. Their helpers were courteous and competent, not random day labor, and Dan and Ben do the bulk of the work themselves in any case. These guys are grown-up, professional, expert workmen who are also pleasant and personable to be around. Highly recommended.

I called on a Monday to schedule an estimate for a few general contracting projects in a house I had recently purchased in downtown Frederick MD. I spoke with someone who was on a job site at the time, and he said they could and quot;swing byand quot; on Wednesday, either during lunch or after work. He asked me to fill out the online contact form on their website, and to call back on Wednesday morning and quot;to remind themand quot;. I filled out the online contact form immediately, and called back on Wednesday at noon (granted, not in the morning). I left a message saying that we had tentatively scheduled an estimate for today either during lunch or after work, and that I hoped it was still on, and to please call me back. I never received a return phone call and they never showed up. I did a lot of scheduling work for them (fill out their online form AND call to remind them, when I was talking to them on the phone in the first place?), only to have them not respond. Also, I was living over an hour away at the time, and I had to schedule a day to take off from work and drive in to get contractor estimates. This was one of the estimates I had planned on, and it turned out to be a big waste of time. Very unprofessional and uncoordinated.

They are veyr courteous. They as if we like everything, they are very accomodating. They have three men working in a bathroom and they always in a good mood which is pleasant. They always clean up and they try to please their customers. They did ceramic tile around the floor. They did the plumbing, electrical work, and painting.
