Atlas did a great job. Of course with the upgrading in the insulation and adding the sealant in the attic we'll see how comfortable my house will feel both winter and summer. Wyatt and Keith and their team did a great job. They were very carefull in my home in bringing in their materials. They cleaned up before they left. Everyone on the crew was completely honest while working in my house. I had interviewed at least 6 contractors before selecting Atlas. I felt comfortable with their sales people. They also had a coupon on their web site. With the work that was done I will be able to get a rebate from pepco.

The best investment I've ever made for our house is doing the work, after our home energy assessment. We had layers of different types of insulation injected in to our house plus had our HVAC sealed. It is a nice toasty 70 degrees in our house. The heat is set at 66 and hasn't turned on today. Prior to the work I would have had to have multiple sweatshirts and multiple socks on and had the heat set at 72 to feel as comfy as I feel in my shorts right now. If you're in the D.C. area, Atlas Home Energy was great to work with and very professional. They went above and beyond my expectations. Extremely professional, clean, organized, even going above and beyond what the work order had once into the job. Took 3 days to perform and I am noticing a big difference in the house as I was having issues with freezing rooms and my TV room because of a crawl space. I know I can count that they did the right job and I will be going back if I my Real estate clients even need a good company

as far as home improvement companies go, atlas ranks among my most positive experiences. referred by friend, i probably wouldn't have chosen them using angie's list (smaller volume of reviews) but this experience has encouraged me to try to change my search approach. before the job, jorge was professional, knowledgeable, and responsive. high price quote came down after pepco rebate. hiccups during job included that their first attempt didn't actually hit 16 inches of depth (code), some grumbling when i requested revision, but the guys sincerely apologized. hatch should be built higher in the first place, please allow customer to inspect work before (first) cleanup. collateral damage to bedroom paint, small touch-up that can be seen from across the room, no other remedy offered.

We initially contacted another highly rated company on Angie's List and they came out and provided us with a bid and sort of us were eager to get us scheduled. However, I wanted to do more research and boy was I glad that I did. What this highly rated company didn't tell us was that Pepco had a rebate plan in place to help with making your home more energy efficient. We looked at the list of approved Pepco companies and called Atlas Home Energy. They actually went through the entire home and also tested it for leaks. They came back with a comprehensive plan and bid beyond just adding insulation to the attic. They made recommendations and we were able to decide which portions of the work we wanted done. We agreed to having them seal and insulate the main attic, the garage attic (which went over some of the first floor of the house), sealed and insulated basement band joist area, they also appropriately rerouted some exhaust fans to the outside, and installed a more powerful bathroom exhaust fan with timer. They were very neat and careful. They completed the work in two days because a part to their blower was broken and needed to be replaced. They followed up with us several times and took care of all the paperwork to get our $2000 rebate from Pepco. It was very easy. We got a lot more work done and a more extensive evaluation of the home for the same price ($2779 after the rebate) that the other company would have charged for just the main attic.

He's very courteous and prompt, and explained everything very thoroughly. His quote was very detailed, as was his plan to encapsulate the crawlspace.

The inspection lasted 2.5 hours. The tech checked all three floors using an energy scope to show areas of energy loss. He sealed the house and turned a fan to blow air into the outdoors. He showed me, using the energy scope, areas where heat was penetrating untreated spaces. He provided tips to reduce energy as well as free light bulbs that were energy efficient. Finally, the company sent an audit report with photos of the areas of concern, energy scope readings, as well as proposal. The tech was professional and knowledgeable. The experience was enlightening.

I feel everything was done very well and professionally. The agent was very friendly and pleasant to work with and provided me with an information packet and one for my landlord for additional work if he so chose.I feel this is a very wonderful program that is provided thru Potomac Edison Company for free.

Our Atlas Home Energy experience was, by far, the BEST contracted service we have had since we moved to our home in 2013. The ATLAS workers were prompt, clean and professional from start to finish. The office staff / energy auditors (Ben & Jorge) answered all of my MANY questions prior to the work being performed. The job took a whole day from about 8 am till 4:30 pm. The foreman / owner (Mike) kept me updated throughout the day and, using his cell phone, even showed me pictures of the work in progress. We bought a small rancher built in 1980 and have made many modifications to make the home more wheelchair friendly and comfortable. Since 2013, we have contracted services to have walls moved, 15 windows replaced, 2 bathrooms gutted and rebuilt, kitchen remodeled, driveway and sidewalks repaired, 12 x 20 foot sunroom added, and landscaping done. So we are not unfamiliar with how a company performs. And my husband and I had completed many DYI projects over the 23 years we lived in our previous home. So, prior to the insulation project, I had researched guidelines online, thinking that I might be able to save money by doing the insulation myself. That would have been a BIG mistake: since ATLAS is an approved home energy expert partnering with Potomac Edison for Maryland's Home Performance with ENERGY STAR® program, they even completed all the rebate paperwork for us to save 1/2 of the cost of the project ($3797 / 2 = $1898.50 final cost). We got an estimate from another company which was a comparable cost. The reason we chose ATLAS was because they could do the proper venting at the same time as insulating and the other company could not. I'm SO GLAD that we went with ATLAS! P.S. I think all home improvement costs are too high - hence the 'B' rating for price...

The whole process from the initial audit through to the execution of the actions and then the final audit check went very well. The initial audit, including the draft check of the house was performed by Ben. He did a thorough check and prepared a report that included recommendations on items that we should consider addressing - we already knew there were some but he pointed out quite a few others that we hadn't noticed - he was clearly knowledgeable of the requirements for house construction and energy efficient design (we had good discussions related to the economics of fixing each item on the list). The report provided included detailed pricing for Atlas to complete recommended fixes. I checked pricing against other contractors and found them to be competitive. I chose Atlas to perform the work based on the following: a) their pricing was competitive, b) they had good reviews on Angie's list and c) they were a local company. I decided to go ahead with addressing all the recommendations in the report including providing new insulation in our main attic, routing of bathroom fan exhausts through the attic, supply and installation of a new attic door, new insulation and sealing between a dormer and the garage, sealing of door and insulation and the basement band joist. In addition I asked them to remove the old insulation in the attic and address some other minor items that needed fixing in the areas they were working in. I was very impressed with their execution of the work for the following reasons: a) Mike (one of the owners) led the team of 4 to 5 people in performing the work. The work took approx. 2.5 days to complete. Each day he explained what they were going to work on and where they would be in the house. b) They kept their access ways through the house clean and cleaned up their work areas at the end of each day c) They did a very good job in removing our old insulation. We were concerned that this would bring dust into the house and they worked with us to come up with an option to remove out of an upstairs bedroom window (after sealing off the area) d) The quality of all their work is very good (including the carpentry work to replace the existing attic door) e) They worked efficiently. I was paying a lump sum price for each item so while it didn't really matter how long they took it was still good to work with a contractor who had a good plan and who executed it safely and efficiently. They completed the follow up energy audit review (blower test) the day after they completed the work and submitted the paperwork for the rebate.

The crew were very professional, letting us know what they were doing at all times. When inside the house they preped the area as to not make a mess. They cleaned up after themselves very well. They did a few "extra's" to make a nice finished job such as replacing the attic access panel with left over material they had. They also stuck to the schedule. Very pleasant experience.

Everything was great. Anthony came to size up the job and give us an estimate. He gave very clear explanations as to what the work would involve and answered all of my questions. The team of four that came to do the work was professional and friendly. The work itself seems to have been performed extremely well, and the team was careful to contain any mess and left the worksites very clean. They submitted for the Pepco rebate that should cover half the work and sent me an email promptly to let me know to expect the rebate (and what to do if we don't).

I'm fussy on house work and I did some research on house insulation. ?I stayed home most of the 4 days they performed the work but it didn't seem necessary. ?There were any where from two to four workers on any given day. ?They were punctual, worked hard, and were very professional. ?They're work was excellent. ?They were also very neat since they took time to vacuum areas that were dirtied by them. ?I thought they walked me through the whole process well including getting the Pepco rebate afterwards. ?To get the rebate, they were required to show quantitatively the improvement made with the new insulation and duct sealing. ?I was around for most of the and they had good testing equipment. ?They delivered on what they promised in the contract and I was especially appreciative of the energy auditor Anthony who was very knowledgable in the contract stage and who followed through the whole job with leak testing before and after the work was done. ?I would not have any reservations with using Atlas Energy again.

The only issue was the installers did not have the weather stripping for the front door so that was removed from the bill.

It went very well from scheduling to the job completion. Anthony was very professional and responsive. The crews came out on time and were very knowledgeable. I highly recommend Atlas.

First 90 degree day of the year and my tenants AC isn't working. I called some of the other highly rated guys but it was too late, they were booked and I couldn't wait until June for a service call. A family member recommended I try calling Atlas Home Energy solutions. I called Atlas and spoke with Rob Gault, he's the owner and operator. He was slammed just like the others, but unlike the others he said he would try to work me in the schedule. It was near 7:00 when he got to the house he was polite, friendly, knowledgeable and professional. He assesed the problem right away and got right to fixing the problem. I don't know much about air conditioning but I do know he helped me when I was in a JAM and Rob did it for a more than fair price. If I need help again with my HVAC, I would definately call Rob at Altas Home Energy Solutions.

From day 1, when our energy issues were discussed, scope of work outlined and a cost estimate developed, to final completion of the work, all representatives of Atlas were professional, courteous, capable and responsive to any concerns we raised. We've had many contractors perform work for us, from major house expansion and periodic home renovations to all types of home improvement and maintenance projects. Of all the contractors we have dealt with Atlas ranks at or near the very top. We feel very fortunate in choosing them and would recommend them (and have done so) to family and friends. Atlas' initial energy audit indicated excessive air infiltration into the house. The Atlas representative recommended the above work, and advised us that air infiltration would be reduced by at least 20%. They advised that our utility company, Potomac Edison, would pay half of the cost under a Maryland state program, leaving our cost at $801.50. The 20% reduction in air infiltration would give us a cost savings of $78 per year on our electric heating bill, and over 10 years to recoup our cost for the work. We have a wood stove which supplies most of our heat, and the electric heat pump only operates on very cold nights, or when we are away during the heating season. We also use the air conditioning on a limited basis in the summer. Since we are committed to energy conservation we decided to agree to have the work done. Atlas personnel arrived on time, and were very pleasant. They finished their work in the prescribed amount of time. However, a followup air infiltration test performed by Atlas (which was part of the contract) showed that we received less than a 7% reduction in air infiltration. At that rate it would be about 31 years before we would recoup our cost for the work, and by then I would be 98 years old!! I complained to Atlas, and they agreed to come out again, fill in any gaps in their earlier work, and weather strip one other door. Matt Sera, company owner advised that this would give us a few more percentage points improvement in air infiltration, but we would not get near the 20% that was originally advised. Again, Atlas personnel arrived on time, and completed their work quickly, and in the allotted time. Atlas advised that they would not do another air infiltration test after the final work was done, so we didn't know at that time what our final air infiltration improvement came to. I wrote an initial review on this site which generally was negative due to the fact that we thought that we received much less air infiltration reduction than we were advised for our investment in the work performed. Shortly after writing this review I received a call from Matt Sera advising that he was concerned about the negative review, and that he could come out and complete another air infiltration test. He completed that test today, and it showed that we had indeed reduced air infiltration by about 20%. Apparently, adding weather stripping to our basement door, and filling gaps left from the initial attic insulation work was sufficient in reaching the 20% level that was originally advised. It crossed my mind that under these circumstances a company may perform an invalid followup air infiltration test to show results that were better than actual, and to receive a more favorable review. My gut feeling tells me that this was not the case with Atlas Energy Solutions. I believe the test was accurate. Mr Sera also made some good suggestions regarding other energy improvements, and we may call on him to make those improvements at some future date. All in all I am pleased that this company took the time to correct work that initially fell well short of expectations, and complete another test confirming satisfactory results.

I had 5 contractors give me an estimate for the work. All were excellent but Matt Sera, co-founder of the company, stood out. The 5 companies provided different approaches as to how to complete the work so I had to figure out which method was best for me. After learning what I could from the internet, Matt's method best suited what needed to be done at my house. Everything from start to finish (setting up the appointment for the estimate to the completion of the last detail) was handled professionally. The crew also was also very professional. Matt Sera actually worked (not just casually visited the work in progress or just supervised) along with the crew in the crawlspace and helped with the clean up. They left the house clean each day. Work was started and completed on time. There was excellent communication between Matt, the crew, and me and that helped the process go smoothly.
