Description of Work: Prior to purchasing the coupon, I contacted Motivational Movers to inquire about their service area, availability, etc., as suggested. Based on their response, I purchased the coupon in January 2013. In March 2013, I contacted them again to request moving services and indicated that I requested assistance removing furniture and other items from my present apartment and that most items would be disposed of or taken to disposal facilities, not moved to my new apartment, I was informed that the could not honor the coupon for this purpose. Therefore, contacted 1-800-GOT-JUNK and paid them $379 to remove the items.

Description of Work: The team was professional, polite. They were several additional measures that I should have taken when self-packing (cover the legs and bottom of furniture to prevent nicks and scratches and discuss procedures for loss and damage.

Description of Work: I sent an email to the provider requesting information for how to schedule my move. They indicated that I would need to complete the estimate form on their website. They estimated to move two bedrooms worth of furniture dining room / living room furniture and some boxes would take six to seven hours, and with the mileage and gas fees I would have to pay an additional $400. Which would make the total cost of the $630! When I moved from that same location four months ago I paid professional movers $400 so I was excited that I could get the same service for $230. I feel Motivational Movers inflated their price.

Description of Work: Prompt, efficient, got lots of heavy and valuable stuff in and out of tight spots with no issues. Very impressive.

Description of Work: The crew worked diligently and completed my move in 4 hours which was the amount I paid for in advance. Everything went like clockwork.. On time, efficient, professional. Moved furniture from a large high-rise building to an apt in a boutique building. Shrink wrapped all pieces as requested.

Description of Work: This is the second time I've used them to move me. And once again they completed WOWED me!!!! In fact, I paid for 4 hours, and they got it done in less than that. They were amazing! Watch for their Angie's list deals! They're great deals, and it's a great organization! I recommend them highly!

Description of Work: Moved from my apartment on the 6th floor of a building to my new condo on the 2nd floor of a remodeled old home. They were on time and helpful during the move. Three of the four-man crew were great. The fourth seemed uninterested and lacked any enthusiasm. This was demonstrated in the quality of his work; he banged boxes and furniture into the walls in the hallway and into my new condo's door frames, doors and walls. The hallway and stairs leading up to my condo was new, but the walls were pretty banged up after the move. I think the whole team was responsible for that, but not all of them were responsible for the wall and threshold damage on the inside because I was watching them closely once they entered the actual space. I finally told the team lead that I didn't want him bringing things inside anymore and they had him work outside from then on. The office people were great to work with, were responsive and accommodating during planning. Afterward, they gave me a call to see how it went. Although they apologized for the one problematic mover, they offered no compensation, which was OK, I guess, but I think good business should have resulted in offering a handyman to do...say an hour of repairs.

Description of Work: The movers were on time. They finished on time, but that is only because we moved a lot of stuff before they arrived. They quoted us for four hours, but told us when they finished they had actually planned for 7 hours. When were they going to tell us about the increased fees. They slowed down tremendously the last two hours and it was almost as if they were trying to mil the clock. They had three guys, but one never left the truck. They also damaged slightly two pieces of furniture. If you are budget minded and do not need everything to arrive as it left, they are the movers for you.

Description of Work: Workers were efficient, friendly, and responsive to directions. They emptied two large storage conainers on-site, moving lots of heavy furniture into the house.

Description of Work: Had some issues when they moved us. The guys didn't follow protocol of packing furniture correctly. Then dropped our bookcase on our new floor in the new house. We contacted them to complain about the service and the response was exceptional! They sent us a report on how our complaint was handled. 2 suspended, 1 fired and they replaced the bookcase for free. I will definitely recommend them! They take criticism extremely well and work out a plan to make their customers happy!

Description of Work: I am so glad that we decided to use Motivational Movers as our moving company. We purchased the Moving Truck and 5 men for 4 hours special. On moving day, the company called to inform me that one gentleman wasn't able to show up so it became a 4 man crew. To compensate, they gave me an extra hour. They were prompt, professional, and did excellent work. I would definitely recommend them to anyone I know if they need to move.

Description of Work: My daughter was moving to a new apartment. I called Motivational Movers the same morning and two persons showed up as promised within 2 hours. They were very courteous and the job was done on the time that they had promised.

Description of Work: WE were so happy with motivational movers that I plan to use them again this summer to help my daughter move! The three men gentleman were professional,friendly, fast, & cautious- They did an excellent job! They even came 15 minutes early!

Description of Work: Packed and moved my son out of a house, and put the goods in storage. They were very nice to him, and very understanding that he was making the move due to his wife's untimely death. They were late in arriving by nearly an hour, and were short of boxes. They were very apologetic and polite, once we told them we had been there an hour and a half waiting for them. The only other issue was that I was not told that they would not take a credit card in payment., and that it had to be cash or a check. I used a card to pay the deposit, and there was nothing on their website that advised they did not take cards. I also had several phone conversations and email conversations with them, and no mention was made of their cash/check only policy. When I asked aboutit that day, I was told by the manager that they "had just given up their credit card machine" and needed cash or a check. I would not have a problem with that if they'd told me up front, but I only found out when they presented me with a bill for over $500 and wanted cash. Advance notice is critical so people know to have the cash in hand at the site on the day of the move.

Description of Work: Word of advice, Do not use this company. The first clue was when they arrived with a BUDGET RENTAL TRUCK. I selected a Angies deal that was 300 off and you pay 179 for 2 men. and four hours of labor. At 90 an hour, the whole house was packed, there wasnt any living room furniture, just a tv, two bedrooms of lite funiture, no dressers, mainly boxes. They came with 2 young guys and I guess their supervisor. Who sat in his truck and kicked backed the whole time. The guys where nice, but young and inexperienced. My things where carefully packed and boxes marked, they have torn my boxes up, I spent 100+ in cardboard boxes and extra packaging to protect my things, that didnt matter. They dropped them tossed them and basically just tore my things up. that coupon crap is a bunch of BS. Because whatever they discount you, they will work those hrs right back on in overtime. I had 130-530 of paid labor. They blew that time in just loading the truck, with an hr over, so the clock started ticking at 531 , they didnt finish loading until 630, then charged me 65 for mileage, they drove less than 1 mile to a storage unit, then it took them two hrs to unload it, and I started helping their a****!!!!! at this point the supervisor could see that im watching the clock, and now im p*****. Now he decides to get off his mighty a$$ and help them unload. by then, Its approaching 8 now. They had some type of dispute amongst themselves, and I wind up paying for it, they packed my storage unit any type of way, and tore up my funiture doing it, and didnt even bother notifying me that they caused damages and broke a few things in the process. Jammed it and when I returned the next day, I couldnt get inside it, I had to get help from the property mngr, to assist me in getting that gate up! I went inside and was horrified to see my things crapped up in their like it was trash. I could go forever on this report. I am a Blk Female age 38, they clearly wouldnt have done this to some other clients if the circumstances were different. they definitely would have came correct. YOU ARE BETTER OFF GETTING A RENTAL TRUCK AND YOUR BUDDIES AND DOING IT YOURSELF, ATLEAST THEY WOULD TAKEN BETTER CARE OF YOUR THINGS, AND YOU WOULD HAVE CAME OUT A WHOLE LOT CHEAPER, STAY AWAY FROM MOTIVATIONAL MOVERS!!!

Description of Work: They were on time, fast and extremely reasonable. And nothing was broken. What more could you ask? I will absolutely use them again if I move again.

Description of Work: I bought the big deal moving coupon $250- worth of moving for $129-. The initial communication was okay. I called an wanted to shedule a move. The lady called back the next day unsure of which of my requested move out dates was available or the cost. I looked on their website and found the listed prices. The day prior to the move, I called and emailed to confirm and got no response. At this point, I was a little nervous. I didn't hear anyting until the day of the move and the movers were already there. Not a great communication but the actual move went very well. They showed up with a truck, three helpers and a supervisor. They three movers worked very efficiently on this very unbearably, hot May day. Overall the experience was very good, it would have been great if they had communicated better.
