The job when as stated my our Salesman Chuck for replacement of two complete systems. Overall took 2 days, all Technicians were very professional and took time to answer my many questions. Installation dates were cold in the high 20's low 30's the install team stated around 8:30am and made quick work of removal of the old systems, had the new systems installed and operational with heat blowing upstairs around 3:00pm and downstairs around 4:30pm. They protected my home covering all floors with drop cloths and cleaned up at the end of each day. The new Daikin systems are functioning great can't wait to see my first months gas and electric bill. Thanks to all the Blue Dot crew involved in my systems installation, great job!

The service went well. I ended up going back to Angie's List and finding another service provider the next time it went out. I purchased a coupon online, and I had to pay again when the guy came out again, because I could not print my coupon. I had to give them my card again. They wouldn't even talk to me until I had the coupon, but of course I had already paid. I did a quote from them for getting a new furnace. They are a really big company, and you don't know who is coming out. They came out pretty fast, it wasn't expensive, but I got double charged by the guy, and he did get the furnace going. I am not terribly convinced that the problem was what he said what he was. He did point out that it would nickel and dime me, and he told me that the problem was the control panel which was $1000 to replace, but when it went out 3 months later, it was a different problem that would cost me $300 to replace.

The initial deal was to check our system, but we actually had them replace our whole system. It was like $9000. We've had two different calls. So they put our system in, but then we had a problem with our system and we weren't happy the second time, just with the person that came. But generally, they were great, it was just that one person. What happened was, after our system was put it in November, probably about a month ago we got up in the morning and the whole system was down. It was when it was like 20 degrees out. So we called Blue Dot and they did send someone that day. He told us that the control panel needed to be replaced. He went out and he was on the phone for a while and he came back and said he had to go on another call, but somebody was getting that part and going to be back that same day and nobody ever came. So by like 5:30 in the afternoon, my husband started calling to find out if somebody was coming. Again, it was 20 degrees and we had no heat. So that was an issue. He finally got to a manager who called him back. It was a Friday night, of course. I don't know if the guy just never followed through or didn't get the part but he left saying somebody was coming back and nobody did. So it did escalate to a manager and he was responsive, but we did have to wait till the next day for somebody to come. They sent their master electrician, who then told us it was only a fuse, it wasn't the control panel at all and had it fixed very quickly. So initially the service was great, the sales guy was great and my husband was really happy with them answering questions. The electrician, the master guy who came secondly said there was something loose and he wasn't surprised that it happened, so he was great. Everybody else was great except the guy that came and said that they were coming back. We had to put heaters on and all that kind of thing. So that was bothersome and the fact that he got the diagnosis absolutely incorrect as well. Overall, we were happy but that experience was pretty bad. I think they were competitive on pricing. We didn't have a second opinion or anything on a different system.

Serviceman was punctual and professional. The problem was that a wire had gotten unattached and stopped working. He put a plastic piece in to reconnect the wire, but it only lasted a week before it came off again. He also added a safety valve, which I later found out was kind of overpriced though necessary. Someone else then came to reconnect the wire at no charge with a stronger piece of plastic (which has stayed in place for several months now), but he recommended some very expensive repairs/parts replacement to stop the furnace from vibrating. We haven't made the replacements and the furnace keeps functioning fine, so the verdict is still out to see if the repairs actually have to be done or not.

This was the first time using this company. Had HVAC problems went to Angie's list and bought a coupon for $100 worth of work for $50.00 the next day I was getting ready to call the company when they called me. Talk about being fast. Great customer service we spoke over the phone about setting up an appointment until I told her the HVAC system was not operational. She set it up for a technician to come out to see me on the same day. Once again I was impressed by her customer service & dedication to the customers needs. I was given a 4 hour time window for his arrival. I was called 30 mins prior to him arriving which was great. Justin arrived on time extremely professional. Found the problem right away (Blown Fuse) fixed the problem system kicked on. He went on and traced the problem to the thermostat wiring which needed to be replaced soon. He gave me a quote. I was extremely happy from the beginning to the end. Highly recommended.

The service was fine. They had to reschedule, and I didn't like that, and they came out on the day of the rescheduling, and then everything was fine. They are good. I would recommend them. They seemed to have overbooked themselves, and I would advise them not to overbook. The pricing was excellent.

The service turned out okay. They came out and did their thing, there was some follow up that was needed, but that didn't happen, and I had to follow up with them, and now they are scheduled to come out on Friday. There weren't any additional charges.

I'm completely satisfied and will likely call Blue Dot the next time I need service. The tech, Justin B. was thorough and answered all my questions. He made some recommendations about items to watch and upgrades I should consider. He backed those recommendations up by showing me the meter readings and explaining what they should be and by pointing out components that showed signs of corrosion or wear, but he was never pushy. I called Blue Dot because of its high rating on Angie's list and it seems to me that they deserve the high rating.

Skip F. came the next day and found the short (outside) and after several round trips from the basement to the heat pump outside, fixed the problem and the got the system working normally. Luckily our system was under warranty (installed by Blue Dot) so there was no charge. We want to thank Roger and Skip (and their dispatcher) for their responsiveness and professionalism and will continue to use Blue Dot to service our system.
Description of Work: Our thermostat suddenly went dead on a Friday evening. We called Blue Dot, who we have used for many years, and they sent a technician, Roger C. within a couple of hours. Roger diagnosed the problem (a blown fuse caused by a short) and got the heat back on temporarily and arranged for a service call the next day to find the exact cause and fix it permanently.

The service we were provided was pretty disappointing overall. We have an infant, so were a bit panicked to get home and find the heat not on on a night it was forecast to be below freezing. After unsuccessfully trouble shooting the problem ourselves, we were very motivated to get a technician in as soon as possible. Since it was after hours, our options were somewhat limited, but seeing the reviews here and having heard of Blue Dot from others, we decided to give them a call. The technician called to give us an estimated time of arrival, and seemed to be trying to talk us out of the visit ("You know this is $82, right?"). He arrived as scheduled and was courteous, going so far as to put on booties to cover his shoes before coming inside. From there, though, things were disappointing. He initially totally misdiagnosed the problem as being electrical and started asking about whether we had recent work done claiming the problem was probably related to a junction box on the other side of the basement. We've lived in the house over 5 years, and have not had any rewiring done. He examined the boiler for a little while longer, then "jiggled some wires" and managed to get the boiler to restart. He diagnosed the problem as possibly being related to an attached component, but said he couldn't be sure, but still quoted us $760 dollars to replace the component (aquastat), which seemed to involve another service call. He then said he couldn't be sure what he did was responsible for it working now, or that it would keep working. He did want to sell us a $120 service contract, though, that seemed to be the only way to get any kind of guarantee about repairs. We were less than impressed. Even less impressed when we arrived home the next day to find the same problem again. We were able to get a competitor to come the following morning and he immediately accurately diagnosed the problem, a connection leading to the aquastat that he fixed by securing the connected wires using zip ties. He confidently said he felt should prevent it from failing again and showed us exactly how we could adjust the connection ourselves if there is a problem in the future. He also quoted us a price for the aquastat, if we ever did decide to replace it, that was over $200 less than the one quoted by Blue Dot. So, while the technician was punctual and courteous on an after hours call, the repair we were hoping for lasted less than a day, we were pressured to purchase a high cost service contract, and the quote we received for future work was $200 more than a competitor, even the "discount" cost after the service contract. I don't think we'll be contacting this company again.

We used the coupon for the $39 diagnostic check for our HVAC system that we got through Angie's List. We couldn't have been more pleased with the service we received from Adam B. He was courteous and professional. He quickly diagnosed the minor issue with our system and fixed it. There were no additional charges to fix it. He recommended some things we could do for our HVAC system but didn't pressure us to get them done. That's a breath of fresh air compared to other service providers. We would gladly use Blue Dot again and would recommend them.

They were on time, scheduling was great and easy and the quality of work was good. What wasn't great was the entire system was not included. Did not include the outside a/c unit when the forced air handler system handles both the ac and heat although it is now gas heat as opposed to a heat pump. If it had been a heat pump, it would have had to have been done as a single unit. Also, the service tech kept trying to up sell me on the service contract after I declined. I felt pressured and while not uncomfortable it was annoying and he said he was just doing what he was instructed to do.

Our technician D.J. was absolutely wonderful! We called blue dot because our home warranty company had given us the okay to contact a new contractor after the one they sent out left us with only emergency heat. The house would not heat up on the normal heat setting. D.J. thoroughly inspected our HVAC system and explained everything to us clearly, patiently answering all of my questions. He found a wiring error the previous technician had missed and was able to accurately diagnose that the problem in our thermostat. We are now back to a warm home! D.J. was courteous, honest, and professional. We will definitely call him again for future hvac needs! **We cannot say much about pricing because we were refunded through our warranty company and thus did not shop around for quotes. The $82 is their fee for running diagnostics. Our technician said that Blue Dot's prices may be higher than some other hvac companies, but you're paying for quality work with warranties on both parts and labor.

We had frozen pipes in our laundry room. Blue Dot sent ALS, Inc. It was a cold weekend, and we waited several hours, but the house was OK. The ALS tech came, explained what happened and why, and made an adjustment to the outdoor spigot that is fed from the pipes that feed the laundry. We were heating the room substantially in the meantime. The representative explained how we could avoid this in the future with a simple re-routing of the feed lines and offered to return later for a formal quote. He charged $59 for this on a Sunday. We were quite pleased.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. It went well. The guy was polite. They are polite and courteous. They squeezed me in. There wasn't any problem with them. They came the day after I purchased the coupon. The price was good. They told me that they would be there at 4 and they didn't get there until 8 but it was bad weather and they squeezed me in. I would definitely use them again.

I had received another estimate before Blue Dot. The other company told me my issue would cost around $120.00 dollars and take no more than 15 minutes to fix. When Blue Dot came out I was told they found the same issue but they were going to charge me $800.00 dollars for the same 15 minutes of work. I would not use this company in the future.
