LADY BALTIMORE HARDWOOD FLOORS

Great service from start to finish. Had them give me estimate to install hardwood floors in 2 rooms. The house is old one room had multiple players of vinyl tiling and the other had carpeting. Both floors were uneven currently. They did an amazing job. The wood was beautiful, the guys who sanded and the guys who finished the floors both did outstanding work. After it was done the salesman came out to see how the work looked which I appreciated.

We are happy with the way the project turned out however, I would not use this company again. We were given resistance and attitude for questioning thier billing on items they charged us for, yet were not done. The project was completed four days ago, and even though they did not provide us with an updated invoice, they took it upon themselves to charge our credit card without authorization.

Lots of decisions in the Hardwood market... we went with a site finished, rift/ quartered White Oak. This is not an easy process, but Lady Baltimore got us thru it. They were on time and met the established schedule. The floor turned out incredible. A few minor problem were immediately corrected without any hassle. The great thing about site finished it that issues that WILL come up as you use your floor can be easily repaired.

It was a rough job. The floors were very damaged to begin with. They ended up looking very nice at first. The problem was the finishing. The existing wood trim was not masked so there are splotches in nearly every room. The air vents were also not masked so they were filled with sawdust and polyurethane. The house was also not cleaned afterward. There was a thick band of sawdust on all walls. Whatever the top sealer is it scratches if you look at it wrong. We were working with someone at the company to resolve some of the issues but he left the job. We never heard from anyone else.

Tim, the owner, visited the site and provided an estimate and a professional package that described his company, its insurance, and licensing credentials along with what to expect during the refinishing process. Based on other reviews of this company on Angie's List and my meeting with Tim I decided I knew I wanted to use Baltimore Lady Floors to do the floor refinishing that was a part of a larger kitchen remodeling job. My intuition was correct. The floors turned out drop dead gorgeous! Scheduling was a dream...if only the whole kitchen remodel had gone as smoothly as working with Baltimore Lady Floors. I was told the whole project would take four days, but I had my kitchen back in three. The crews arrived on time and worked diligently. All in all it was a wonderful experience.

It went well, although the quality of the installation on the floors could have been a little better. Some of the gaps between the boards should have been closer and a few nails around the room's perimeter were left sticking up "headless." Some holes were not filled in either. Color wise, the stair treads and risers didn't match each other well or the floor. I had plenty of extra flooring which LB could have taken with them in order to do a color match. It would not have taken that much extra effort to take a piece of flooring with them to give to their shop refinisher. With that said, I must commend and give the highest praise to Larry, who was sent to do my trim work. Larry is a young guy and a very skilled carpenter. He had excellent work ethics and took pride in everything he did in our home. He was polite, courteous, prompt and professional. We owe him a tremendous amount of thanks and gratitude for making our house a home. He is a carpenter who genuinely cares about the quality of his work!

Best price estimate. Knowledgable salesman. Great every day communication on time of arrival throughout the process. Floors look great and stained to match our current floors. Great people to work with. Highly recommend.

Fantastic. I can't say enough good things about this company. We hired them on our friends recommendations. The were very prompt and courteous. They actually finished the work a day early. Very reasonable price for all the work that was done. The only problem we had was that there was a miscommunication about a piece of quarter round we wanted replaced. One of our walls was different than the other. It didn't not have baseboard and was only had quarter round part the way down the wall (not sure why, we bought it that way and never fixed it). So, when they did the floors they didn't redo the quarter round on that wall. I expected them just to remove the old quarter round, not worry about the baseboard and just put new quarter round down. I new it wouldn't look great, but with getting a new house, selling the old one, and everything else a baseboard was the least of my worries. So, once we straightened out what I wanted the worker from Lady Baltimore decided it would look better with baseboard. So, he got matching baseboard, redid the entire wall and around the corner for everything to match and then redid the quarter round so that it all looked great. They didn't even tell me about the extra work. I only got a message that the work had been completed and to please call back if there were any questions or issues. I didn't know what extra they had done until I got back out to the house a few days later to check. When I called I offered to pay for the quarter round and extra work, but was told it wasn't an issue and there would be no extra charge. You really can't ask for better service than that. I don't have hardwood floors in the new house, but I definitely recommend them to anyone that does. Just did an above and beyond job.

Tim DePaula, the President Lady Baltimore came to provide the estimate. Tim was very pleasant and explained the work in full detail. I had received other estimates and LB was by far the most professional. Tim provided a glossy folder that included information sheets on each step of the process and even included a copy of the Company's insurance policy. I was originally going to have a "satin" finish but after speaking with Eileen in the office she convinced me that the semi-gloss would look nicer. I'm so glad I listened to her advice! We scheduled the work for several weeks later since we would need to move out of the house for about 4-5 days. Zack and Jacob arrived on time and showed me how the stripping machine worked. They took the time to mix several different stain colors to get the exact color (gunstock) I wanted. I gave them a key to the house and they explained they would put a lock box on the front door since it would be a different crew who would be there the next few days to put on the polyurethane finish. Each day I received an email from Eileen stating the work had been completed and the schedule for the next day. My floors are beautiful and really look like new!

I contacted Lady Baltimore Floors in February to schedule an estimate. Matt came to my home and we discussed the work to be done and the time frame for it to be completed. The time frame was important because we both work and had to adjust our schedules to be available when the work was performed. We were not comfortable giving strangers access to our home. Matt stated the first day would be essentially all day to sand, clean and then apply the first coat of poly. He said it would take about 2 hours on days two and three (the floors were not stained). I asked about being scheduled first thing on days two and three; Matt said it depended on their schedule on those days. Matt provided an estimate within a few days. After reviewing other estimates, we chose this company. Part of our decision was due to the great ratings on Angie's List, especially about it's professionalism, quality of work and follow-up Upon receiving my deposit, Eileen called me to schedule the work. When speaking with Eileen I again asked about the time frame to complete the work. She said all day on day one and roughly two hours on days two and three. Eileen said they give a one hour window for arrival; our window each day was between 8:30 and 9:30. Day one: Two men (they never introduced themselves) arrived to sand and apply the first coat of poly. They explained what they were going to do and about how long it would take. They sealed off the kitchen and closed all the doors on that floor and sealed off the downstairs to minimize the dust in the non-affected areas. They vacuumed all the dusk and removed the seals. The non-affected areas had very minimal dust as was expected. At the suggestion of the men, I called Eileen to schedule days two and three; she accommodated us by scheduling us as the first stop. Day two: Barry arrived. He buffed the floor and then applied the second coat of poly. Barry failed to close any doors on that floor and did not seal the kitchen. This caused every room and everything in each room to be covered in dust. I was livid. There was ten times more sanding the day before with little, if any, dust in the non-affected areas. Barry completed the work in two hours. The next day I called and informed Eileen of this issue. She apologized and said she was calling Barry. Day three: Barry arrived 20 minutes late (9:50) without calling. Upon request, he did seal the kitchen and close the doors. The work was completed in four hours, not two as we were informed. This caused serious issues with my husband's work schedule. Had he known it would take more than two hours, he could have better prepared work-wise. I emailed Eileen to inform her of Barry's tardiness, going past two hours and the impact it had on my husband's work schedule. I also remarked again about the amount of unnecessary dust in the non-affected areas. We are happy with the quality of the work performed. The floors are beautiful. Sadly, the avoidable dust, tardiness and misinformation about the completion time has made this experience very disappointing. It's been one week since I emailed the company and no one has responded. Had they done so, our ratings would have been higher.

Lady Baltimore first refinished the wood floors in my sunroom/conservatory. They patched two areas and then sanded and refinished the room They did such a good job that I also had them do the same work in the foyer and kitchen. My only issue was that they did not cover the kitchen cabinets to prevent dust from getting into the cabinets. They were meticulous in sealing the sunroom and most of the kitchen and foyer from the rest of the house, but I would have liked them to seal off the cabinets with plastic sheeting. They use equipment that captures most of the dust, but it does still get into the cabinets. Nonetheless, i was still pleased with their work overall and hired them to install tile in the laundry room. They were very reasonably priced and did a very good job. They office staff was always very responsive and the workers were polite, professional, on time and did good work. I would recommend them as long as you insist on them covering cabinetry - cleaning the inside of 50 cabinets was not fun.

Lady Baltimore was professional from start to finish. Matt, Erin, Tracy and the crew were great to deal with. The contract was very detailed and anytime I made updates a revised contract was sent to me for review. I knew what to expect from the beginning. Lady Baltimore worked with my time frame including a schedule change due an issue I had with a contractor. In additional they were willing to answer all of the questions that I had. The original floor looks amazing. My expectations were exceeded. The one issue I had was that the molding on the stairs was damaged unintentionally and was not told about it. Once I brought that to their attention they were willing to help us correct the situation. Their goal was to make sure I was happy with the job. We ended up fixing it on our own but I was happy that the company offered to help us fix it. Overall the company did a great job and I would recommend them to people.

We could not be more pleased with the results! Our floors are gorgeous, and all of the on site craftsmen, including the delivery man, installer, strainers, and finisher who top coated were pleasant, professional, clean, and helpful. We would recommend Lady Baltimore to anyone.

According to my wife, the estimate went fine; the owner was on time, professional, knowledgeable, etc. Lady Baltimore showed up on time, if not a little early, the first day to start work. The sand guys were very friendly, very knowledgeable, and answered any remaining questions we had about the project. I only give a slightly downgrade in responsiveness because my wife was very anxious about the project and did not receive a confirmation phone call that we were suppose to receive a couple days before, no big deal. Regarding price we didn't shop around much. Lady Baltimore is very reputable, and their price was in line with most online estimates, so we just went with them. Bottom line, we were pleased with the end result and the experience as a whole. We would definitely recommend these guys and would definitely use them in the future.

The estimate was precise and thorough. I did end up paying more for oil finish rather than the standard finish, but it was worth it. Imperfections were sanded out. They took several days. The process needed to take as long as it did so several coats could be applied and have time to dry.

They had the best prices and were very reasonable. They were prompt and easy to work with. The sanding and staining took about 4 days to complete and they wanted us to leave the house so they could finish everything on time.

Everyone from the store ,delivery and installer showed friendliness,politeness and professionalism.

So Tim came over at the end of January to give me an estimate to refinish the floors. I asked my sister to meet with him as an emergency work meeting came up for me. She talked with him about what we would like to get done- living room, dining room, stairs and upper hallway. He asked specifically if we would be able to remove the stairs from the old carpet before they started work (we were just trying to cut down on costs), my sister assured him they would. He sent me an estimate about 5 days later. The estimate was lower than the other two estimate so I called to arrange a day for the work to start. The problem was he hadn't included the cost of the stairs, and I didn't read the estimate closely enough to realize the stairs were not included- we were both a bit at fault, I was just assuming that had would include what they had talked about. Anyway, the day the work started they let me know the stairs would be an additional $350. I told them not to do the risers and they cut the price down to an extra $275- so I guess they gave me a bit of a break, but I was frustrated I had taken the time to get three estimates only to end up with the highest cost of all the estimates because of the stairs. The floors look great and the two workmen that came were courteous and professional, so the work they did was good, just look over the estimate carefully and ask any questions because they don't negotiate much after you've given the initial deposit.

I thought the estimate was professional and they showed up on time. Overall I thought they did a pretty good job. They were pretty close to everybody else in terms of price.

The two jobs turned out beautifully. We changed the color of the original dining room floor from golden oak to a provincial ? and had the office stained in the same color since you can see both rooms as one enters our foyer. The workers were punctual and professional, as well as trustworthy. Since they were in our home in our absence. The transformation of what used to be a formal living room into an office/library has been amazing. This is attributed to the wonderful job Lady Baltimore did on the install of the hardwood floors. My only concern was more emphasis could have been put on how strong the polyurethane smell could get and about how long that would last. The owner did mention we may want to move our cocketiel to another room which we did but it turned out the smell was so bad we had to get him out of the house late the first night of the poly application.

Fantastic job! My expectations were far exceeded. I truly thought my hallway was beyond repair from years of wear and some water damage, but after refinishing and staining it looks brand new! The work was performed on time, the crew was extremely professional and accomodating, and I truly could not be more pleased with my results.
