He is an excellent carpenter, he takes his time and does it right, and he stays with it until it is complete. He is not jumping around to other jobs and things like that. If people want quality work, he is an excellent work. He may be pricier, but he does quality work, and I figured that before I went in, because I read on Angie's List, and he did what he said, and didn't disappoint at all. When I contacted him, he was doing a job, it took him about a week before he came over, looked at everything that I wanted, and about 5 days later, he came back with a proposal. I said fine. This house is probably over 100 years old, and he ran into things he didn't expect, but he never waived from the price. There were extra trips to do things that he needed to finish, and he never changed the price. If that had been somebody that was an amateur, or somebody who did not have the experience that he did, this job would not have been done to my satisfaction. He made it all look new, and I considered it a safety item. I didn't not compare the prices to anybody else, but I have no qualms about the price. When he spoke to me and explained everything that he had to do, he did it, and he ran into problems, and it took him an extra 6 hours for him to do, and there was never any waiver of the contract. I paid in 3rds, when he finished in parts. He said I should pay in a third when he started, a third when he was half way through, and a third when he finished. I was happy with that, and he was happy with that. I have been with my daughter looking at new homes, and the workmanship cannot compare. It would be hard to beat the quality he did. He and his son work together, and they took measurements, looked at everything, and got the materials that he thought was needed. When he came with the proposal, everything was broken down. Once he started, they stuck to the job. He left the door unpainted until the weather warmed up, and it took 3 coats, so he took it off one day, and he brought it back the next evening. He said he would be here at 8:00, he was here at 8:00, if he said he would be here at 8:30, he would be here at 8:30. I told him I have a masonry job that I don't want to get done right now because of the freezing temperatures, so when the spring comes, I will get in touch with him, and he said it is fine.
Description of Work: He had to do some painting on a door, and it took a while because he had to do 3 coats on the door. He replaced 12 steps on a stairways going upstairs. He had to place the risers, hang the hangers, and that took most of the time. He had to stain, and put 3 coats of protectant on them. He completely put a door where there was not door in the past. There was a door on the side porch, and he put a door on a little entryway.

It was a very good experience. We were very pleased with the work he did. He went above and beyond the call of duty. He was like the Angie's List TV commercial. One day a tornado warning had been issued and we were away at work. We called Will who was working in the basement, but because of the sawing and hammering he did not hear his phone. within 5 minutes or so he called to see what it was that we wanted. We told him about the tornado coming to Mt Airy, Md and if he could go to the patio to get our 3 dogs inside. He went out in the pouring rain and brought the dogs in with him, Luckily Will was also a dog lover,. He took care of our pets. He put up with them while he was working. We also mentioned that we wanted to add shelves in a storeroom in the future and asked his advice on how to do it. The next day he had done the work which was not on the work plan. He did it on his own. He was very customer oriented. He ensured that we very happy with his work.
Description of Work: Will came in an framed my entire basement of approx 2000 sq feet. He had Lowes deliver all the lumber and when it arrived he made Lowes come back and pick up about half the 2.x 4 because they were not true. His attention to detail was evident there. As he continued to work on my basement I would ask some questions and he would tell me why he did certain things a certain way. When he was working, he was very professional and thorough. He he was introduced to us he mentioned he was from New England. I had seen the TV show "THIS OLD HOUSE" and saw how they worked and their work ethic. Will displayed the very same characteristics.
