Absolutely horrible! Never would recommend Chris to anyone.

New home projected to take about 9-12 months took nearly 3 years. They are better salesmen than builders. I liked the staff, they're personable just not effective. At various times the job supervisor would change without notice or informing who the new "point man" was. The supervisors were rarely onsite and did not communicate with each other. They rarely answered inquiries unless they needed something. I chose them not because they were the best bid, in fact they were the highest, but because of the promise of quality and support throughout the building process. The support team was mediocre and occasionally steered me in an expensive error, at my own expense. They ignored some of my basic requests e.g. ADA access until it was too late to do. Multiple areas of drywall cracked/split before I even moved in and the site is still full of construction debris after a year of promises.

Unfortunately, we had a terrible experience and never got further than having (incomplete) plans drawn. We had designed our own floor plan so, when we initially met with Chris, we entered into a contract (paid up front) to have his architect/engineer professionally complete them so that he would then be able to price out the building of the house. Chris told us it would take no longer then two to three weeks (given the time of year) and that, upon completion, we could either have him build our home or we would be able to take the plans to any other builder and they would be able to use them to build our house. Neither of these occurred. We did not receive the plans for 9.5 weeks, after many attempts by the two of us and our realtor to find out a status, and I still ended up having to pick them up myself. Upon receipt, we realized the two page version we were provided was not to scale, had a "skip" in it and certain numbers were unreadable. By this time, we were certain that we would not be having Battaglia build our house. We then provided the plan copies we were given to seven other builders and they all independently provided very similar feedback to ours. Upon this confirmation, we again contacted Chris to ask him for the product we paid for. After several more weeks, we had no choice but to give Chris the option of providing us clean plans or a refund by a certain date. On that date, we finally received a clean (but still incomplete) copy of the same two pages- so we had to start from scratch because there were no structural components to the plans. This experience completely disrupted our time frames and living situations and the only reason we aren't grading at an F level is because Battaglia's designer, Mark, whom we had just started to work with was such a pleasure to interact with.

We couldn't be happier with our Battaglia Home. The quality is superb. Any questions or concerns we had throughout the build process were addressed by Battaglia until we were satisfied. We found Battaglia when one of the larger "custom" builders in the area wasn't so custom after all and weren't willing to work with us on simple things like a front porch and a mud room. From the beginning, we could tell Battaglia was flexible, informative, and dedicated to a quality product. We've heard from many people who worked with other builders that once the contract is signed the builder wouldn't change anything after that. It was the opposite with Battaglia. They worked with us fluidly to accommodate our change requests and to make sure we were happy. We moved in a couple months ago and just couldn't be happier with our home. Thank you so much to Ben, Chris, and the entire family. You guys are great, and its no surprise that your company is growing based on the quality of the work you do. If you want to have a home you absolutely love and work with a company who won't settle until you are delighted, these are the guys to go with. Thanks again.

Build offers no customer service after the contract is signed.

First of all, we are very pleased with the final product. The quality of workmanship is very good and the cost was quite fair. The problem was that the builder was horrible at communications. The foreman, Don, was almost never at the job site. We communicated almost entirely by text messages, which he wouldn't answer until he was was going to act on a request. If I would send a text asking when a task was going to be started, it might be a week or more before he answers to say the plumber will be there on Monday. Subcontractors showed up on there own and built according to the plans (which often did not reflect any changes communicated to the contractor). I truly feel, my house was built whenever a subcontractor wasn't busy on other bigger houses that they were building. The subcontractors seldom, if ever, came exactly when I was told they would be there. Weeks often passed without any activity at the site. After the house was completed, the punch list which they were suppose to attempt to clear in 7 days (according to their worksheet) was finally cleared 9 months later.
