It went smoothly very courteous and focused team.

I have never experienced such a bad interaction with a professional contractor in my life, and I am no spring chicken. I called Dave's Tree Service and scheduled a free estimate for the next day. The owner, Dave, arrived at the scheduled time. We walked to my backyard. I said that I wanted the tree removed and the stump ground. He immediately said, "eighteen hundred". I said, could you give me an estimate in writing? He handed me a business card and said, "You can write it on that." I said, "No, I need an estimate in writing which indicates your business address, professional license, and a description of the work that you are quoting." He hastily walked to his truck, and I followed him. I handed him a postage-paid envelope and said, "I don't need the quote right now. You can go back to your office, print out the information, and mail it to me in this postage-paid envelope." He took the envelope and jumped into the driver's seat of his his truck. No hand shake, no--- I'll get you the information that you need shortly. As a good consumer, I had already prepared a list of questions that I wanted to ask. So, I said, "Wait a minute, can I at least ask you some questions?" 1) Me - "How long does the estimate last?" Dave - "A week". Me - "So I have to have the work completed in 7 days?" Dave - "Yea" 2) Me - "What methods of payment do you accept? Dave - "Cash or check." 3) Me - "Will you provide a certificate of insurance, so I know that you are insured?" Dave - "I have it right here. You can look at it." Me - "Can you mail me a copy with the estimate in the postage-paid envelope that I gave you?" Dave - "I have it right here. You can look at it." Me - "I would like a copy, so my accountant can look over it." Dave - Blank stare Dave starts the engine of his truck at this point. 4) Me - "Will you be contacting, Miss Utility?" Dave - "Yea." Dave shuts the door to his truck and drives away. Wow! Wow! Wow! I must give him his company credit for scheduling the estimate on time and arriving on time. As far as customer service and professionalism, I must give an F. As he drove away in his truck, I shouted, "Sorry to have wasted your time!" Wow! Have never experienced such a bad interaction with a more unprofessional contractor in my life. And I am no spring chicken. Please do not contact this person. He does not behave in a professional manner.

Could not be more disappointed. Dave came out and gave me a quote saying he could come out and cut down a tree in our front yard. He said he needed to be paid in cash so we went to the bank and took out the cash prior to his arrival. Furthermore he said that he needed all the cars on the section of our street moved so I went to all of my neighbors and and personally asked them all to not park in front of the house the scheduled morning. The tree company did not show up and I was told they might be there at noon. I was not happy and said that I had scheduled my day around their stated time. I was told that that he "wasn't dealing with someone like me" and then hung up on. I can only suppose is was because I had an expectation of prompt arrival as I was inconveniencing all of my neighbors by blocking a large section of the street parking and I had other places to be later in the day. He said I didn't have to be there but I can't imagine not being at the house in case something happened...not to mention how does he intend to get paid if I am not here to pay him.

Terrible. I have never received such unprofessional and rude service from the start just to meet with a potential customer, for an estimate. I received no written estimate and he was very rude to me and to my family. It was a verbal only and without thoroughly inspecting the trees, which I intend to have serviced. He showed up and stood outside for about 5 minutes. Provided a verbal estimate only and then asked who else I have gotten out to provide an estimate. I told him the wide price range, which I have received from the 4 companies. He said to me "then call that company," while he walked away from me as I was still talking and asking questions. I am in disbelief that a contractor of any sort would schedule a visit to a home owner / a potential customer, and treat them with such disrespect. He got in his truck and left while I was still standing outside and had other questions. So, I called him on the phone right away after he drove away to finish my discussion and ask additional questions. It is very rude and unprofessional to walk out of a potential job and in the middle of providing information. It is obvious that this company has so much work that they can pick and choose who they want to service. Perhaps the job is too small? Regardless, no one should treat another human being the way I was treated simply by calling a company who advertises affordable and competitive service. He made it known that I wasted his time and could not have been more rude to show it. The level of service compared to the other 3 that provided an estimate, took the time to discuss the condition of my trees and what service is needed, the customer service and kindness, what a difference. When I called him back, I asked about the price payment plan, which really is not a payment plan like advertised. It was a 3 lump installment payment presented verbally. Again, he would not provide anything in writing. I also asked about the "Spring Special 25% off coupon, which I have. He replied "I already knocked off $300 for the job and I cant do anything more." I am absolutely disgusted and in disbelief over the way I was treated and this was just to obtain an estimate. All I wanted was a full and thorough estimate. I would not recommend even calling this company out for an estimate unless you want to be treated like you are not a human being with unkind words and rudeness. In this day, customer service is above all and people deserve to be treated with respect. I would not recommend contacting Dave's to anyone unless you are an individual who wants to be treated with severe disrespect. It is a shame that a business owner conducts business in this fashion.

He ripped us off. The service was poor. The job was done in a very poor manner and we were extremely unhappy with the job. He covers the entire local area with flyers and stuff like that so we got him from that. He was actually a friend of a friend and we had found out later that he had purchased the business from his brother. It has been previously called Frank’s. Now, it is called Dave’s. His name is Dave Franks. He had to change the name from Frank’s to Dave because he had been getting so many poor reviews. So, he basically covered our town in these advertisements with a very poor business. He did not remove the stump. We paid him to have the stump ground down and instead he told us, even though he took the money for it, that we would have to have our fence removed to have the grinder brought in, but he did not give us any kind of refund for that. We have some large Leyland Cypress trees which are very tall and kind of pine looking. It basically looked as if you took a chainsaw across the top of them and gave them a flat top. It was pretty bad. They were punctual but that was it.
