concrete repair
+ -1 moreCharged us $5000 to reseal concrete countertops in kitchen. Professed to be experts in this area. Looked good for 6 months then started to crack, peel and stain. Called company multiple times, they said they were busy but would do job when time permitted. Continued to put me off for 3 months then stopped responding to my inquiries. This company is a sham and absolutely does not stand by their work. They sound knowledgeable up front but they are not. Hire them at your peril and only if you want to be ripped off!

Description of Work: It was hard to get someone to respond to request for estimate. When they finally did, after I complained to Angie's List, they just gave me a high ball price - without any personal follow up. I got the feeling they realyy didn't care about doing business.

Description of Work: I was looking to replace a wrought iron railing and hand rail on an outdoor stairwell. Also, I wanted to do something to repair the crack in my concrete front porch. While the receptionist I called was very polite, Mr. Engels never called me back. She said he was busy, but after trying about 3 times, I gave up and had other contractors do the work.

+ 1 moreBased on the information on Angie's List from another customer, and my limited contact with this company, I would certainly give them a chance to perform services to my home.
Description of Work: Called regarding installation of railing on carport porch and stairs. Mr. Oretel returned my call promptly. He said that he doesn't really do railings, but does concrete work and refers people to George Eckert and Sons for railing work. Unfortunately, our concrete work was already done and we were just looking for railing work. Had his company showed up on Angie's List last year when we were looking for someone to do the concrete, we would have gotten an estimate from him. He seemed very knowledgeable and professional.

+ 0 moreMy illness makes it difficult for me to walk on uneven surfaces, especially with a baby, and I particularly wanted the new walkway in front of my house to be installed before snow became a problem. In my initial conversations with the very pleasant and helpful office manager, she expressed sympathy for my difficult situation and promised to expedite my request. We received a prompt initial response from John Oertel, quick and patient answers to my (numerous!) questions, and a speedy and very reasonable estimate. The installation was done within two weeks, enabling my new wrought iron stairs to be installed the day before Thanksgiving perfect timing! The installers did an excellent job of installing the walkway and the work site was immaculate when they left. We especially appreciate the fact that they widened the walkway without our having to ask. We are very pleased!
Description of Work: Removed old uneven walkway, evened out and widened walkway area including moving wood border rails, installed new concrete walkway.
