A/C unit was having trouble cooling the house. I called No-Frost at 6pm Wednesday evening and left a message. Eileen promptly return my call that same evening by 7pm, and was able to schedule service for 10am that very next morning (Thursday). Eric arrived on time with all necessary tools. Vehicle was marked with No Frost logo which is nice. He proceeded to inspect both systems (Attic and basement) and performed various diagnostics. Service was informative and efficient. Small leak in the system was likely the result. Would highly recommend again.

They come out annually. They come in the spring and the fall. We have everything checked out twice a year. I think they came in March or something like that.

Our air conditioner on our heat pump on the second floor was not working. We contacted No Frost on May 29th, the Friday before Memorial Day weekend. They came out to troubleshoot the problem on Memorial Day. The motor on the 21 year old heat pump needed to be replaced so we decided to replace the heat pump. The heat pump has one part on the outside and one part in the attic. They ordered the new heat pump and came out on that Friday, June 3rd to replace the old one. They arrived at 7:30 and were finished by 2:30. They were very professional. The installation went smoothly. They laid down cloth mats and wore booties over their shoes. They cleaned up everything afterwards. They took the time to explain the system and how the new thermostat worked. They waited until they were sure that the system worked and called back a few days later to verify that it was still working. I would use them again in a heartbeat. The cost above was after 2 rebates.

Called No-Frost and had to leave a message on the machine. It was during a heat wave and it took a couple of days for a call back. When they called us, they said they had been backed up responding to the elderly/infirmed and existing costumer calls. That earned points with us as it showed a certain character in the company. We scheduled an appointment and the technician arrived on time. He quickly diagnosed why our unit was not keeping up, which was a clogged drain in the system and serviced our 2 units. He was professional and friendly, even to the family dog. My husband was so impressed he called the company to tell them what a great experience it was. It is nice to be able to support a local company. We would definitely call them again!

I got a call back from No Frost and was able to schedule a technician to come out to my house at noon on Thursday to look at the unit. He showed up on time and and found no Freon in the system. He also noticed other things wrong with it and recommended a replacement system. I was told someone would shortly to give me a call to schedule a estimate. After not hearing from them I decided to call them back before they closed but only got their answering machine (I left a message). Then we had Memorial Day weekend and I figured I would heard something on the Tuesday but its now Wednesday night and still no contact (even with repeated phone calls). Guess I will contact another firm tomorrow and discontinue my use of No-frost (aka No-callback).

About a week ago, I woke up with no heat in my house. Initially I thought it was an issue with the thermometer (I have a Nest thermometer). However, after troubleshooting stuff with the Nest people, they told me it was an HVAC system issue. I called a couple of places, however, this was the only place that could send a person on the same day. The tech came in and checked the HVAC system and found out that there was an issue with a part. He called the company to see if they'd be able to get the part on the same day; however, they part had to be ordered and it would arrive the next day. The next day the tech came with the part and installed it and checked to make sure the system was working. Overall I was very happy with their service. The tech was punctual on both times and it was great to be able to have someone come in on the same day.

Fall HVAC inspection covering major components. Replaced a worn-out part; provided recommendations to prolong service life of the equipment.

I called in the morning around 11:30AM & left a message re: the problem I was experiencing- i.e. furnace blowing cool air/ burners not staying lit. They didn't get back to me so I called back around 1PM. They said they would see if they could have someone out that afternoon & would call me back if they could. They called back around 2PM to say they could have someone come by & that I would be charged $97 for the first half hour, and that they would automatically apply the Angie's List discount of $25. The service guy, Clint, came out. I believe the job took only 5 to 10 minutes. The job was finished & he was gone by 2:34PM. The heater is now working. I couldn't ask for more professionalism or efficiency! Great job. Thanks Clint!

The estimate was great and they recommended a nice system, but a competitor recommend something a little lower SEER ... For the money I thought I should consider it ... In order to compare apples to apples I asked them to price the same unit (both Trane) and except for one follow up question I never heard back from them ... I called once to inquire but never received any other correspondence. Weird, great initial experience then nothing ... Honestly made me wonder about their communication and dedication after the system was installed. The other provider listened to me, talked me through the options and when I asked them for the higher SEER to compare apples to apples they provided it quickly. So, sorry, but a great experience for me.

When I needed them , they were not available to do any work so I never called them back .

We have been using No Frost for thirty years. Always great. Gave up front estimate. Discussed options for installation. Installed sink and switch on furnace. Ran line to sink. Tested install. All in less than an hour. Best job possible.

The homeowner always needs to take their time to do their homework and to do comparison shopping on something as expensive and important as a home HVAC system. We were pretty educated going in. And Angie's list certainly helped us identify top-rated firms to interview. The various firms' presentations varied in thoroughness but all covered the essential info for the homeowner. After getting quotes from the top-rated service providers in our area, including our long-standing existing provider, we selected the family firm of No-Frost for the work. They provided the exact same system that the nearest competitor had offered us but for over $2000 less. Yes - the exact same system including heat pump and air handlers. Well wait - their price also included a Carrier air purifier that was not in the other quotes - and they repaired and integrated our Aprilaire humidifier! While their presentation was not as polished as one of the other firms, their honesty, workmanship, professionalism and reliability have been top notch. They came when agreed, they completed their work on-time, and their clean-up was flawless. They were flexible as well - reconfiguring the arrangement of the indoor unit in our tight utility area to allow greater access for the homeowner and for future maintenance. The firm also informed us of all the manufacturer and State of Maryland energy rebates and handled all the paperwork for the latter. This saved us nearly $3000 from the normal price. And when I called with some follow-up questions they responded quickly and thoroughly. Just a very good experience with these folks. I don't hand out recommendations easily but I can recommend these folks.

I was seeking a price quote to move our A/C unit concurrent with patio construction. I contacted No Frost First because they had responded quickly to a minor problem several years ago. I filled out the request on their website which promised an answer within 24 hours. After two weeks I called them and spoke to someone who first asked if I was already a customer and then took a message, saying I would get a call back from (female's name). Never happened. I called another service provider who was very responsive and professional. I guess No Frost has more business than they can handle.

It took a couple hours before they answered the phone or my message, but service was very prompt after that. The service person really knew what he was doing and got the repair part quickly from a warehouse.

John showed up right on schedule, and went straight to look at the heat pump. 15 minutes later he reported that it was fixed -- he was able to immediately see a blown capacitor when he took off the access panel. Once he replaced that, everything was working properly. It was clearly something he had seen before. Everything is still working fine a month later. They were prompt, courteous, and professional. Eileen was checking in with me periodically regarding scheduling -- they were swamped during a heat wave, and I had informed them that I had multiple zones, so my bedrooms were fine and there was no rush. I have also had no-frost come out for seasonal equipment inspections after a winter of high electric bills to make sure everything was working normally -- to their credit, they did not push me to upgrade my equipment. Very happy with their service. Parts pricing may be a bit high, so if you have the opportunity to get and compare itemized quotes, or source the parts yourself, I would consider it. If I need someone to 'just fix it', I'll call them again.
