WE CALLED THEM, THEY WERE VERY CONCERNED WITH OUR PROBLEM AND THEY FIT US INTO THEIR SCHEDULE. THEY CALLED US BACK WITHIN 1 HOUR AND SAID THEIR SERVICE TECH WAS FINISHING UP A JOB AND WOULD BE THERE SHORTLY. 45 MIN LATER HE ARRIVED AND CHECKED THE UNIT AND FIXED THE PROBLEM. HE THEN SHOWED ME WHAT TO DO WHEN OPERATING THE UNIT UNDER LIKE CONDITIONS TO AVOID THE SAME KIND OF PROBLEM IN THE FUTURE, GREAT TECH, GREAT COMPANY, KNOW NOW WHY MY NEIGHBOR PRAISES THEM SO HIGHLY.

Overall, I was disappointed with the appointment, because I felt that the service technician was bending the truth in order to push me to the most expensive option in fixing/replacing my current heat pump. Although the tech who came out on 8/7 said my coolant levels were fine, the tech insisted that there was a leak. I felt that this was stated in order to push me to purchase a new unit, rather than just repairing the fan. The he said that the cost of fixing the fan would likely be more than the $650 - $800 written quote he had just given me for the repair. Again, I felt that this was to push me to purchase a new unit. He also seemed to be steering me toward the more expensive of the two heat pump options by stating that the less expensive option would not result in savings on my energy bill. However, since I was replacing a 10 SEER unit with at least a 14.5 SEER unit, that didn't seem like a true statement. I contacted the office and discussed my concerns and was told that the service tech is the owners' son. I am left feeling uncomfortable about the whole thing. I chose another company to install a new heat pump.
Description of Work: On August 7, 2012, No Frost fixed the leaky drip pan on my heat pump. No issues. A few weeks later the blower stopped working. The heat pump, however, was over 16 years old, so I knew that it might be time to get a new system. However, I wanted first to see if the current system could be fixed. Therefore, I put in a service call to No Frost, and at the same time, requested a quote for a new system. I received an email with an estimate on a new system, and then had a tech come out on August 23. The tech evaluated the condition of the heat pump, including both the blower and the condenser.

On 8/21/12, customer called and said the a/c was not working. She said due to the age of the heat pump system, she wanted an estimate for a new system and I said I would e-mail her a quote which I did on 8/22/12 so she would have an idea of what a new system would cost before our technician would come on 8/23/12. I also told her since she had no water on the floor that it was not the same problem as the two times prior. I also stated again that I was not implying she needed to replace the system that we would have to look at it first and that I was not pressuring her to buy a new one. The technician never said that the prior technician had not checked the freon when he was there and that it was a different problem at that time when water was on the floor. He also stated that it is hard to get a correct reading when the blower inside isn't running which is what was needed to be replaced in order to get a correct reading. As far as the quote to do the repairs---it was just that---a ballpark quote as I was waiting for her to respond to my e-mail quote and also to tell me if she wanted a firm cost to do the repairs for the inside unit as I needed to call Carrier for the cost and availability of the parts. However, she never called me or e-mailed me back. Her existing heat pump combined with her variable speed indoor air handling unit actually gave her a higher rating than 10. I called her on 8/29/12 in response to her e-mail to me about getting another company to install her unit. She did not call me, I called her. I noticed this modified response was made on 8/30/12 and the other was made on 8/29/12. Per our conversation on 8/29/12, she did exactly what I and the technician had suggested as her best solution. As I said to her on the phone, I've seen customers spend a lot of money repairing the indoor unit and a few months go by and the ocmpressor goes up and they end up buying a new system anyway. We were trying to be honest with her and as it turned out she got a new system installed anyway by another company. The question is why she replaced the whole system instead of having the other company do the repairs. When I called her on 8/29/12, she couldn't remember the technician's name and I looked up the invoice and told her the truth who was there. Again, I was being honest. I pride myself with good customer relationships. I feel she should have had the decency to call me to discuss any misunderstanding or loss of "goodwill".

Service was completed efficiently and air conditioner is working fine. Total amount charged seemed fair. I will call them again if needed in the future.

The technician came out and was very upset by the type of thermostat we had because it was Smart thermostat and he didn't know how to work with that. He said he was not going to be able to help, but then he decided to try to help and all the time was being very angry about it. When he was done, he had taken off the thermostat and checked also the air-conditioning unit, but when he was done, he said he could not do anything unless I bought a thermostat through him. That was gonna cost $200 because he could not work with the one I had and basically left me with no air conditioning with a 100-degree days.

When our technician arrived, the system was running in the heat mode and noticed the customer had installed the thermostat with the wires pulled through the wall. When it was installed they damaged the wiring and our technician suggested cutting a hole in the wall to repair the wiring properly. Customer did not want us to do that and tried several times to switch different wires so she would have air conditioning. The only other option was to cut a hole in the wall. We did not charge the customer and decided it was not in our best interest to continue business with her.

Called them on a Saturday morning at about 9:30 AM. They called me back within 30 minutes to tell me that they woud be there within an hour. The technician arrived within 45 minutes and completed the work in about 20 minutes. They were very friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend No-Frost.

The No Frost Technician, Clint, was very sharp and professional. He diagnosed the issue promptly and was very curteous. We felt the price was very reasonable. I'm glad our in-person experience turned out well because I was initially a bit concerned when I called No Frost. I did not get a "live" person at first; I received an automated system and was placed on hold. After a short wait, I received a real person but she was just part of the answering service and could not actually set the appt. That was fine but she annoyed me a bit because she asked what county I lived in. I told her and then when I gave her my zip code, she questioned the county I live in. Of course I know where I live! But I let that go because of all the positive comments on Angie's List. Later that night, someone called me to set an appt. Again, the experience wasn't as smooth as I would have liked. Seems the woman from No Frost wanted a certain technician to visit our home but he had been out sick and she wasn't sure if he would be back at work in time for our appt. She set our appt with that tech anyway and said she would call me the next day to confirm who would be out to our home. Around 3-4pm the next day, I called No Frost because I hadn't heard back from her. It turns out the tech she wanted to send still wasn't back at work so she rescheduled us with someone else. I was hesitant to confirm the appt because things had not gone smoothly so far, but I'm glad I did. As it turned out, Clint - the No Frost technician who visited our home, arrived on time and was a pleasure to deal with. My husband and I are very picky about the people who do work in our home and we had another appt set up with another AC repair company just in case things didn't work out with No Frost. My husband met with Clint since I was at work. Normally, if my husband has any issues with a service person, he will send them away immediately. This time, my husband didn't text me until the repairs were all done because he said he felt totally comfortable with Clint and with his diagnosis. We had also already gotten a few approximate quotes for repairs, and my husband felt good about the price No Frost charged. He said it was very competitve. All and all, we are very satisfied with the service we received.

I Love these guys! Just really good, knowledgeable, thorough and super helpful. They also have a very reasonable price to perform the work. They came out and had a reasonable estimate and a good understanding of the work to be performed. We discussed various options based on my needs and what I wanted and decided on a course of action. They wrote up an estimate. I met with 4-5 HVAC contractors from Angie's List and selected this company based both on their price and my impression of their knowledge base and understanding of what I needed. They came out on time on the day they were scheduled. They installed all the new units, removed all the old units, cleaned everything up, and then met with me to go over all the details of what was what, and how to do everything with each unit. The icing on the cake was when something was leaking that turned out to be plumbing related. I had called them to come take a look at the unit as somewhere there was a leak onto the floor. The water on the floor was caused because the under the floor plumbing from the condensation drain to the sump pump drainage was not flowing properly. Even though it was not related to what they installed, he was able to flush it out and fix the situation. In addition, while he was there he checked all the units. The test he did for the A/C took awhile so during that testing, he cleaned the furnace filter, and helped me turn around some vents that we had discussed might improve air flow to the upper part of the house. I can't recommend these guys strongly enough. Good company with great upstanding guys.

Description of Work: I called 4 A/C companies when my AC went out during that last heat wave. 3 returned my call and Eileen at No Frost was by far the most professional and attentive. She guaranteed they could come the following morning, and if they could get here the same day, she would call me back. Matt arrived by 10 the next morning and the fan motor was replaced by 12:30. This included an hour to go get the part, since it was an unusual size motor that was not on his truck. He did not charge me for the hour he was gone, which I appreciated very much.

I apologize for not entering this sooner. Also the cost may have been a bit more.The whole experience was very professional, from a callback through the service call.Memorial Day weekend was hot this year. This was a SATURDAY call too!The system is an original from the early 90s. We need to make it last a bit longer. The suggestion to put the stop leak agent in the line was due to the refrigerant only being about 3lbs down. If it were more, the suggestion of replacing the unit would be more of a requirement. The company and it's people were outstanding in every respect. My family and I are very appreciative for the great communication and speedy service. I HIGHLY recommend No-Frost!

Our air conditioning wouldn't turn on this afternoon so after reading reviews I called No-Frost. The woman called me back about 20 minutes later and said a truck was in the area and just finished a job so could come over right away. He came shortly after I spoke to her and was very polite and thorough. I was so happy to have it fixed before it gets really hot again.
Description of Work: Ended up not being a problem, a switch got turned off and I didn't know. They were very fast and polite! Will definitely call them if I need anything else and would recommend to any one.

It went very well. They were punctual and went right to work. They completed the entire installation in a reasonable period of time and then explained the operation of the new programmable thermostat. The system functions perfectly. They cleaned up well and left the house as they found it. John was very courteous and managed the entire job to a successful completion. I would not hesitate to use NO FROST again, and would highly recommend them to my friends.

Installation took about 5 hours. The technicians were on time, explained the system to me, and left the property in good condition. No-Frost deducted the rebates from BGE and Trane from the total cost and took care of submitting paperwork, so that I benefited from the lower price immediately. In fact, their office manager alerted me to a larger rebate than was originally quoted. I'm very pleased with the new system and with my experience with No-Frost staff.

This was an excellent experience from the first call for help, until the job was promptly and professionally completed.
Description of Work: The folks at No Frost were prompt, professional, fairly priced, highly professional and up to any task. Our air conditioner was somewhat aged and had suffered wear and tear after years of exposure to the elements. The No Frost technician solved a difficult problem with clear thinking and amazing resourcefulness. I would hire them in heartbeat for any task or Air Conditioning challenge. The whole process was a painless as possible. Jack, Eileen and Chad are a wonderful group to work with. Scheduling was prompt, they answered all of our questions, called to follow up, and were warm and professional. The day of installation the crew worked all day and made sure everything was done properly and perfectly. They hauled away the old equipment and kept our home clean. I would (and have) enthusiastically recommend this company.

I called and spoke with Eileen and explained that on the coldest day/night of the year, my family and I was without heat. She immediately set up an appointment for the same day. Clint arrived at our home and discovered that our newly purchased home had two mix-matched heating systems, a leak in our Freon tank, and a thermostat that was not compatible with either unit! Clint was EXTREMELY professional, kind, and worked quickly to get our system up and running. He made recommendations and showed us how to trouble shoot if we had any immediate issues. I found No-Frost on Angie’s List and am so glad I did. We will definitely use this company again and probably request Clint to perform the service(s) if necessary. THANK YOU NO-FROST!!!

Called them worried that my heat pump had gone bad. Matt came in, checked the programming on my thermostat (which I had installed earlier), fixed the improper programming and then took at look at my gas fireplace. He just cleaned off the thermocouple and within an hour, I had heat upstairs and my fireplace was working fine again. No extra charges, very congenial, great service, a little late, but within the service window promised (9-12). I would definitely use them again
Description of Work: The air upstairs was not heated (heat pump system upstairs) and my gas fireplace was intermittently failing. I had just installed a new thermostat, and this was the first use of the fireplace with the cooling weather.

My experience with the company was exceptional from start to finish. When I called to set up a maintenance appointment they were very courteous and worked with my schedule. The 2 gentleman who came to my home to do the maintenance service were punctual and professional. They respected my request to wear bootie covers on their shoes since it was raining outside and we had recently had our floors refinished. They explained the process to me and gave me useful advice to keep our HVAC units running smoothly. They even sent me a thank you card for choosing their company. I would definitely recommend No Frost AC and Heating to friends and will be using them again for repairs or maintenance.

The overall experience was first-rate. I will recommend them to all my friends and neighbors. Everyone I dealt with was very knowledgeable, courteous, and professional. The office manager is a gem who made the whole process very easy. Jack and his sons and employees were very personable and efficient.
Description of Work: I called No-Frost early on a Saturday morning because our air conditioner was not working. Despite the fact that they work only to noon on Saturdays and had a full schedule, Jack, the owner and his son arrived at our house about 1:00. They found the problem within ten minutes and explained it to me in terms I could understand. They also showed me the leak that was the origin of the problem. The repair would have been $2500 to our 15 years old system so I asked for an estimate for replacing the system. The estimate was $8800, but with the available rebates and the Angie's List coupon the final cost was $7700. We will also get a tax credit between $300-$500 next April. Jack and his son were very pleasant, explained everything to me, and exerted NO pressure for the replacement. They left me with the estimate, encouraged me to get another opinion, and made a temporary repair so we could cool the house. One of the deciding factors for replacing the system was that the new system would be a Trane, which is rated well by Consumer's. The replacement was scheduled for a week later. The team sent out was on time. The office manager, who is extremely pleasant and very efficient, called me to say they would arrive in 20 minutes. Though the repair was scheduled for the best part of the day, the team finished a couple of hours before I anticipated. They were very professional and I appreciated that they explained everything to me and posted directions for the dehumidifier so I wouldn't forget. Any mess they may have made was cleaned up before they left. They even noticed a problem on our roof from the hurricane which had excaped our attention. I was very grateful they pointed it out so we were able to have it fixed before the next rain, thus avoiding further damage. They gave advise on replacing the filters and told me that the office would call me at the same time next year to come do a maintenance check on the system.
