flooring contractor
+ -1 moreMorningstar delivered the wood and stocked it in the house three days prior installation. The payment schedule was one third at signing of contract, another third after two days of work, and the final third after completion and our satisfaction. The job turned out beautiful especially the steps. Dick, the owner, with his crew showed up on time every day for 3 days. His crew was experienced and they showed up in proper uniforms. They respectful of our home while doing the job and they cleaned up everyday. When the job was finished Dick walked me through to make sure we were happy with the final results.
Description of Work: Morningstar installed hardwood flooring in our master bedroom, hallway and steps. Morninstar saved us money by purchasing unfinished tread and risers, and they stained and finished them to match our finished Bruce floors. After they installed the wood floors they installed the quarter round molding around the baseboard. There was no need for quarter round molding on the steps.

hardwood floor
+ -1 moreDick arrived on the job exactly when he said and stayed with it over the 6 days it took. He was accompanied by a younger helper and his father. They took up the wall-to-wall carpeting and installed a plywood under-flooring. They applied plastic draping to reduce the dust and they cleaned up at the end of each day. The finished result is really beautiful.
Description of Work: We wanted to extend hardwood flooring in our foyer and kitchen into the dining room, powder room, and partly into our living room. We had estimates from Bode Floors and Family Floors which seemed quite high. Another firm was too busy to do the job but recommended Dick Weinknecht. He is an experienced installer and gave us a good price and we purchased the pre-finished flooring at his cost from Mohawk Flooring. Part of the job involved some custom work on a step. Dick came with a scrapbook showing his work and gave us a long list of references. He also showed us his license, insurance certificate, as well as his certifications by the various flooring manufacturers, He was the only one of the 3 other estimators who offered to do that.
