After I learned the previous HVAC contractor wasn't going to stand behind their work, I gave Maryland Heating and Cooling a call. I'm so glad I did. They gave me a price quote over the phone and were able to make it to my house within a few hours. The previous HVAC contractor had hacked together a rig to hold the igniter in place, only it failed over time and the igniter broke in two. Maryland Heating and Cooling installed an appropriate bracket and igniter and the furnace was back up and running. Although it took them a little longer to complete the job due to the poor workmanship of the previous HVAC contractor, they honored the price they quoted me on the phone.

Two people came to fix a leak in our furnace. They took awhile to decide they did not know how to fix the problem. They had no suggestions for what we should do, and for all this, they charged $120! We ended up calling another company that cost $85. They made a suggestion of something to try, and if that didn't work, they said to call them back. We ended up calling them, and they came back for no charge and fixed the problem. This is my first bad experience with Angie's List. In response to your response: My husband said you had told him to call back if it wasn't fixed, but never mentioned any warranty. Of course he would have called you back if it thought there was a warranty. You had given him the impression that you had no other ideas for fixing it, so when it still was not fixed, he chose another company. I believe you have a warranty policy, but it would have been nice if you had clearly stated the fact.

They did a fantastic job. Gave us advice on year round maintenance. We also purchased an annual service contract. A great local small business.

They were very responsive and worked to fit me into their busy schedule during the recent hot spell. Quickly diagnosed the problem and explained various options. Overall good experience and would use them again.

Given the positive experience, we'll use Maryland Heating & Cooling for any future HVAC needs.

It was a Saturday. I needed service on a furnace that was covered by my home warranty. After calling the issue in from 7am - 1pm and getting no service, I called Maryland Heating. They were at my door in 20 minutes. Less than an hour after my call, the heat was pumping. They didn't charge extra for weekend, urgent response, evening rates, nothing. Just the standard price for the job needed. This company provided great service, quick response and no gimmick pricing. They were very knowledgeable. When the needed part was hard to find, they were in constant contact with updates and follow up. Supporting small business locally was just a great bonus. I'm glad to support them for my HVAC needs.

lCalled on a Sunday so I wasn't really expecting a call back until Monday. Deb called me back within 45 minutes. She said that she and Ron were out on a job, but would be glad to stop by. There would be no overtime or weekend rates; just there standard rates. Deb called to say they were running a little late ( timely communication is so important). Upon arrival they started trouble shooting and found the burnt control board. They also smelled a small gas leak which was confirmed by a simple soap bubbles test. Ron immediately found a replacement cutoff valve and installed it. Just observing how he worked you could tell that he knew exactly what he was doiing. They returned on Monday with a new control board (again calling before hand to let me know where they were and when they would arrive). Unfortunatey the warehouse had given them the wrong part due to a computer error, Deb called the manufacture rep and the warehouse to verify the proper board. They went back to the warehouse, picked up the new board, returned and installed it. They were both very friendly and professional. They were very confident in their skills and worked very well as a team. I appreciated that they explained each step they were taking and why. I very highly recommend this comapany. Having Ron and Deb in my home was a very comfortable and pleasant experience. They know what they are doing and do it right and in a timely manner. I will only use this company for any of my future heat/AC problems.

I highly recommend Maryland Heating and Cooling. Our furnace blower broke down in the middle of a snow storm. Debbie from Maryland Heating and Cooling called me back within 15 minutes and was able to schedule an appointment the next day. Even though road conditions were not good, they were able to get to my house and resolve the problem the next day. They were prompt, professional, friendly, and fair. They installed a new blower in the furnace and were done within an hour. I would definitely work with Maryland Heating and Cooling again in the future, and intend to work with them for the replacement of my HVAC system in the spring.

I sent a message to Maryland Heating and Cooling at 11:30 pm via Angie's List. They responded to me at 8 am. We spoke and they were able to come later that afternoon. They needed a new part to fix the problem. They drove 30 miles (each way) to pickup the part. They came back and fixed the problem. While here they also added blow-out valves/pipes to my water heater so it would pass inspection. We are planning to put our home on the market soon. Thanks Debbie and Ron!

It was about 11 degrees outside and I couldn’t figure out what was wrong with it. It was on the day of the snow storm and it was a holiday too. I was afraid that I would have to pay holiday prices. Then I read some review on Angie's List where they had mentioned that they didn’t charge any emergency fee. So I called them and left a message. Debbie called me back within 20 minutes. I missed her call because I was downstairs. She left a message that they were out cleaning the snow off the vehicles that they would be out today. She mentioned that they would provide the service if I needed them. I called back and told what my issue was. She tried to give me some ideas over the phone to see if that worked. Then she said that she would call me back in 15 minutes to see what would work from there. She said that she would set up an appointment if it didn’t work. She told me over the phone that it would be $90 fee for them to come out and see what they problem was. They came out and looked it. They had to take it apart to see what the problem was. They said that the motor died on it. They replaced that. They said that they would be here between two and four. They came during that time. They were professional and courteous. It was good quality and I have heat now. I would definitely use them again. She said that if I had any problem to give them a call as it was under warranty and everything. I have had people come to my house before. I knew that I would never ever call those people again. I don’t feel like that with these people.

My problem was with a high-efficiency boiler, which failed at 6 a.m. on a very cold Saturday morning. The company that installed the boiler did not respond to my pages until about noon. By then, I had found Md Heating & Cooling, and they were a God-send. Even though Md Heating & Cooling specializes in forced hot air and a/c, when I called them on a weekend with an emergency, they came out and did their best. The needed part was not available from the distributor on a Saturday, but by 8 a.m. Monday morning, Deb had already contacted the factory tech team and the local distributor. When the local distributor supplied the wrong part, which required Md Heating & Cooling to make two trips rather than one, they didn't even charge me extra for the extra trouble it took them to go back and get the correct part. Would that all contractors had their sense of fair play and commitment to the customer.

Woke up Superbowl Sunday in 2015 with no heat. Very, vey cold outside! Checked Angie's List, saw the great reviews thay had and gave them a call around 8:00am. Debbie called back in 5 mins. and they were on their way. Debbie and Ron were friendly, couteous, knowledgeable, hard working and a real team! They worked together to solve our problem and then on top of it found out that our humidifier was not working and fixed that too! In addition, they also replaced our filter and explained to us why we needed a better filter that would be more efficient for our heating system. They did not over charge us for coming out early on a Sunday morning. Can't say enough great things about this company. They did an amazing job! We were so happy with their work we are signing up for a yearly contract. Thanks so much Debbie and Ron. We really appreciate you coming out right away and fixing our problem!

Maryland Heating & Cooling came out on the Sunday before Christmas to repair my downstairs furnace that had stopped heating. I actually had a contract with another big company whom could not come out until the next day between 12pm and 8pm even with the frigid weather and out-of-town guest on the way. Not only did Maryland Heating & Cooling make a same day service call on a weekend day, they made the repair and also found a dangerous amount of dust and lint from the dryer located in the same room. Maryland Heating & Cooling will now be my number one call for heating and air. I would highly recommend their services!!!

We called Maryland Heating and Cooling when we realized that the heat hadn't come on all night and the house was getting colder. They came out the same day, diagnosed the problem, explained what went wrong and what was likely to go wrong in the future, and cobbled it back together. Because our system was already eighteen years old and not likely to last much longer, we decided to replace it instead of waiting for it to break down again. Debbie and Ron figured out what would fit into the space in our 1970's utility closet and gave us a very reasonable price to replace both the furnace and a/c with a new Carrier unit, and install a new thermostat. Five days later when the new duct work was built and the new furnace and air conditioning were ready to install, Debbie and Ron came, removed the old units, fit the new ones in place, installed the thermostat, and tested everything. They could not have been nicer or more professional. The new furnace is working perfectly, as is the new thermostat, and we're warm and happy. We will certainly call them in the future if we have problems, and we're delighted to recommend them. They do excellent work!

From when I called late Saturday afternoon to Sunday morning when our AC issue was resolved, Debbie and Ron exemplified all that a business should. I called Saturday and explained our issue. Our AC was running, but no cold air. Debbie was who I spoke with on the phone and she, very patiently, walked me through some initial troubleshooting steps. She said to try those fixes and if the situation did not improve overnight to call her at 8am Sunday morning. When Sunday came with little improvement, I called Debbie and she scheduled a service call for that morning. She and Ron arrived promptly at the time they said and immediately got to work. They encountered a small hurdle with our system, were able to figure out a work-around, and from there diagnose, repair and test a solution. With a capacitor replaced, our AC was again working. Debbie and Ron then took the time to provide some additional tips to ensure we cool our house efficiently--Ron even replaced a missing bolt on our fence gate! Other companies in the area should take note of how these two go about their business. A couple minutes on the phone, patience with newer homeowners, and excellent service have earned them a customer in the future and an advocate for their company. We will definitely be referring Maryland Heating and Cooling to our friends in the area. Thank you!

Provided a pipe opening to help clean the pipes regularly, replaced the filter and set the dampeners correctly to efficiently cool the house. They arrived ahead of time, checked the thermostat, the external cooling unit and all the a/c vents to make sure the system was fixed properly. Very knowledgeable & honest. Highly recommended.

they actually suggested the less expensive model which isn't normal for most contractors. We were happy with their non pushy attitude and their ability to complete the job within four days of calling them. other service providers were quoting two weeks. the Ac is working great and very comfortable. Deb and Ron are fantastic! After replacing all of the HVAC units at the law center where I worked, they replaced my unit at home. They did a fantastic job. They are very responsive and friendly. We highly recommend them!

They were amazing. They were very personable and very easy to get in contact with. They were very good in getting to our house and getting it fixed. I thought their pricing was reasonable.

My heater stopped working two nights ago. I spoke to Debbie yesterday afternoon about coming to take a look at it. She said that they would be able to come out today but in the meantime, she walked me through a few simple steps which, had they worked, would have not required their services and would have saved me money. She was so patient though my bumbling about in the basement. I thought this was so classy and professional - great customer service with no compensation. Ultimately, the motor needed to be replaced. They came right on time, took care of the issue and were wonderful to deal with. I would definitely use them again and highly recommend them to anyone.

Late in the afternoon I called Maryland Heating and Cooling on the suggestion of an acquaintance. I told them that the blower on my furnace was not working and gave the Make and Model of the furnace and the part number for the motor. I was told they would come in the morning. First thing in the morning I received a call that they would arive in half an hour, and they did. Two workers arrived and within moments they had removed the fan housing from the furnace and as soon as they had verified the part number of the motor one of them was on a cell phone and the other was removing the motor from the housing with a hub puller and they were on their way, with the failing motor, to a supplier. They returned in about an hour with an O.E.M. replacement motor and within a few minutes had the motor and housing installed in the furnace and the air conditioner without a hitch. After picking up their tools and writing up the bill they lingered long enough to be sure everything was working smoothly before they left. It was amazing to see how efficiently a well equipped a team of two could accomplish such a job.
