Description of Work: Evaluated need for replacement of two heat pumps. Gave us very helpful info to make a decision about brands. They installed two heat pump systems including a difficult install in the attic. Very respectful and responsive business. Very trustworthy.

Description of Work: Super nice people. They did a fine job tuning up my AC before summer, and even gave the furnace a free look. They spent the time to explain how everything works and what to watch out for in the future.

Description of Work: I came home from business travel on a Saturday in March to find an unresponsive heat pump. |I picked Maryland Heating and Cooling because their Angie's list profile included weekend service and there were good comments about their service. | |Debbie answered right away and came as promised within the hour. | |They diagnosed the problem and as expected the heat pump was terminal and needed replacing. I suspected as much since it was the original, installed in 1988. | |They patiently reviewed the brands/models available and the pros and cons. They helped me select the model that would be best for my needs which was not the "top of the line" model. They sent me the details of the exact heat pump they would install and after my own additional research I had more questions that they willingly addressed. | |I learned that there are bad reviews for all of the major brands out there and what really matters the most is the installation company's knowledge of the brand and their relationship with the manufacturer. | |Debbie worked around my travel schedule and the availability of my house sitter. They shored up/releveled the old pad and installed the new pump and inside equipment, made a new opening in the duct work so I could selectively to divert heat to the basement and even fixed a ceiling light in the air handler room. Everything was neat and clean and the house was warm again. | |They completed the necessary paperwork for my state energy savings discount which I received as expected. | |A few months later there was a problem (again on a Saturday) and they responded in an hour. It appeared that there was a leak in the coolant. It was important to me that they did have immediate access to the manufacturer and were prepared to have the major replacement part shipped right away. |After further trouble shooting they found the leak in a joint and did not need to replace the major part. They repaired the leak, refilled the coolant and came back to check their work, all without any additional cost. | |They maintain their brand training/certifications and clearly have a good working relations with the manufacturer (this was one of those issues that kept coming up during my research). | |This is a small company with big capability and great personal service. |Reminded me of "small town" environment where businesses know their customers and go the extra mile with service. | |I would hope that the next time I need their services it is for a planned event but I know if needed they will respond as soon as possible. | |I would definitely call on them again. | | |

Description of Work: I contacted Maryland Heating and Cooling to fix a problem with water leaking into the furnace and to perform a maintenance inspection. A two person team arrived at the appointed time. They were mindful to place booties over their shoes to avoid tracking up the house. They inspected the furnace and immediately identified the problem. A hose attached to a drainage pipe became dislodged and allowed water to land on the floor around the furnace. They placed a new clamp on the hose. Problem solved. They perform the maintenance inspection. They offered tips for me to help maintain the furnace and to avoid routine problems. They were concern about cool air entering the furnace. They climbed into the attic to determine the source. I thought they went above and beyond what was expected. But they were being thorough and professional. I appreciate the service. I will call on them again for any HVAC service.

Description of Work: The last real hot and humid summer day and my a/c stops working. I researched Angie's list and found Maryland Heating and Cooling. I liked what others said about them. They did not charge any extra for after hours or emergency work. I called Sunday, just to get on early work list for Monday. They called back and were totally available to come out on Sunday. Debbie was so nice, I said I worked retail and I know what it is like working on Sunday. With cooler temps here. I set up apt for Monday at 2:30pm. My gf was home at 2:32 and they had just gotten there and were working on unit. They had it, diagnosed and repaired in 30 minutes. I highly recommend this company to anyone...They are GREAT!!!
