Main Street Oriental Rugs

I brought in 2 antique Persian rugs for cleaning that have been in my family for decades. Moojan's (the owner) expertise of the rugs and how to clean and care for them was exactly what I was looking for. I was very satisfied with the results and will be returning to him for future rug needs. He is the best in the DMV area.

Main Street Oriental Rugs did a great job cleaning our Persian rug. We accidentally dropped a wine glass and splashed red wine all along a white border. Main Street came to the rescue. They picked up the rug the same day that I called, moved a heavy coffee table to get to it, and returned it, clean, as promised 10 days later. They did a deep cleaning and I can honestly say the colors are more vibrant now than when we sent it out. The red spots have vanished and we are very pleased with the outcome. We could not be happier. Thank you so much.

They do not do the type of work that I needed but were very pleasant and professional in my interaction with them.

They did a fantastic job. I don't know what they did, but the rug looks and feels new, even the part that got the most wear. It was ready when promised and they contacted me to let me know I could pick it up. I would definitely use their services again. I was also pleased that I could support a business on Main St. in Ellicott City, which was almost wiped out by flooding in the summer of 2016.

ok, for $250 I expected it would look at least OK, did not look great, but satisfactory. They took 3 weeks, longer than I expected, but no problem really.

I have used them for 25 or 30 years. I have always had a good experience with them. We had a flood in our area and he had the rugs off the floor and ours were fine. I would recommend them. I've always taken my rugs to them and have always been satisfied. He had them at another office when the flood hit.

The rugs were returned in like new condition looking the way they appeared when we bought them. all strains were gone or unnoticeable. they were returned within a reasonable amount of time despite an intervening flood that virtually destroyed downtown Ellicott City, damaged their store, and still prevents them opening it even today. They arranged an alternative pick up location. They were friendly, informative, courteous and helpful throughout the transaction despite extremely difficult circumstances. We will definitely be returning customers. Some additional notes: Deep cleaning was definitely worth the relatively small added cost. Bringing and picking up the carpets ourselves (they told us how to fold them so both fit in the back seat of our car was significantly cheaper than having the rugs picked up and delivered. Once before they replaced worn tassels on the oriental rug; they were indistinguishable from the original ones at the time we bought the rug.)

He came, he took them, he brought them back looking great.

Main Street Oriental Rugs came to the house and picked up the rugs and then returned them when clean. They showed up at the agreed time and returned them within the period forecast. I was pleased because these were rugs purchased many years ago, when I was working in a Middle Eastern country. They were dyed with genuine vegetable dyes and handmade. In the case of a couple of rugs made in Afghanistan, they are probably irreplaceable. Main Street rugs treated them gently and with respect. They also helped repair small wear spots and the fringes on two rugs. I will use them again when I need the rest of my rugs cleaned.

We have been very pleased with everything involved in having our rugs cleaned and repaired by Main Street Oriental Rugs. Mojan Bagha was very knowledgeable about his craft, and was very pleasant to deal with. He seems to care a great deal about the rugs he deals with, and took personal affront that a hand-crafted Persian runner had been crudely cut in half by a relative years ago. We were advised that two other runners were machine-made and not worth the cleaning fee. Our rugs were restored to colors we did not know that they had, and they look beautiful. Ratty looking fringe was made to look much better even though we decided that we could not afford to have them appropriately repaired. The pick-up and delivery were exactly as he had said, and each time he carefully re-positioned the room furniture. The price was well worth it. The office was easy to communicate with, and we highly recommend them.

Working with Mojan and his staff was a pleasure. Once we chose two rugs we liked, they were delivered that evening. Mojan allowed us ample time to make a decision as to which rug fit best in our space. He is extremely knowledgeable about his inventory and answers any question posed to him. I highly recommend his shop to anyone shopping for quality oriental rugs.

Warned ahead of time that not all the stains would come out,but nearly all did.

I have used Main Street Oriental Rugs to clean my oriental rugs and was happy with their service and prices, so I decided to give them a try at repairing a small oriental rug that had frayed at the edges. They did a lovely job at a reasonable price. They are also nice people to deal with!

After searching online for stair runners and installation, Main Street Oriental Rugs in Ellicott City, MD, clearly had the most helpful information available. We visited the shop in the historic section of Ellicott City, and the owner, Mojan Bagha, helped us select the right carpet for the runner--not the most expensive, and not something that would look inappropriate. The stair runner required two 90 degree turns that had to be measured precisely. Mr. Bagha personally made the measurements. His installer, Robert, did an excellent job of professionally installing the runner with the right padding. The seams at the right angles were impossible to detect. Robert ensured all work areas were protected during installation and cleaned afterwards. After a month of hard use, the runner still looks like new and is very comfortable to the feet, as well as providing better traction than bare wood. We are absolutely delighted with the entire process, from website research, to shop visit, to onsite measurements, to final installation. Most highly recommended!

He and his team do a wonderful job. They cleaned and replaced padding for several of our rugs. We have bought a number of rugs and intend to continue doing so. We have taken several rugs on trial, have returned some and bought others. I can't imagine any other organization being more accommodating!

An hour before the scheduled pick up, Mr Mojan called to say our home was more than 50 miles from his shop and that he would need to charge $100 for pick-up. I called to speak with him about the last minute charge and had to leave a message canceling the pick-up. (I think $600 in estimated cleaning fees is robust enough to warrant free pick-up). I wasn't going to bother with this review until he returned my call and informed me I was 51 miles from his business and that "it is the holidays and I am too busy for this." I guess he's that good he can alienate customers, raise prices on a whim and then turn down work he's already agreed to.

Mojan was on time. he and his helper did a very good job positioning our new rug and pad. He was very polite and courteous. Mojan was knowledgeable when it came to the different types of oriental rugs. (Example knot counts per inch. The more knots per inch the sharper the pattern.

The first thing that's great is that they will pick up and deliver your carpets in the early evening -- you don't have to stay home from work. And they are VERY punctual. The second thing that's great is the quality of the work they do. Our rugs look 100% better as a result of their care -- not just cleaning, but repairing frayed edges. They also managed to somehow brighten up the colors in one of the rugs that is a dark blue with some red.

On time, removed rugs, gave accurate time estimate for work, returned rugs w/in est. time, very satisfactory job, helped move furniture.

2 men came to the house, rolled up the 9x12 rug, disposed of the ratty padding. They returned later, put down new padding/clean carpeting. Very accommodating. Did a good job.

The company did an excellent job in washing the rug. The colors are more vivid than they have been. The replacement of the worn areas was high quailty-- there is no way to 100% replicate 100-year old dyes. The owner was fantastic to work with. He was willing to personally come and assess the rug, transport it to & from his shop, and discuss all options. He was knowledgable and a true gentleman (high praise). I got updates from him along with pictures as the work progressed. Cannot be more positive!
