Hank was able to construct this play set as planned without missing any nuts, bolts or screws.
Description of Work: Hank did an outstanding job of installing a custom White Cedar play set on our side yard of two 14 foot towers and an arching 10 foot connecting "troll" bridge with fireman's pole, rock climbing wall and 9 foot slide. It arrived in 43 boxes and Hank was able to have it fully assembled in a day and a half. Very proficient carpenter.

Arrived in cab as promised, gave estimate of $250 and said it would take about 4 trips. Gave him a deposit of $125, he came back and started work. He came to the site 3 times and asked for the balance saying he would finish. We gave him the balance but he never came back. Slug.
Description of Work: Sewage leak in downstairs bathroom.

AWFUL is a generous word to describe how it went! First, Hank is an excellent carpenter and should stick to that. I would not recommend that he be hired for any other trade. I have told him this. I have no problem recommending him for any carpentry work that needs to be done and would hire him again to do more for me under certain conditions. First, he has NO TRANSPORTATION UNLESS THE CUSTOMER GOES TO PICK HIM UP!!! I agreed to do this for 2 weeks because I had a deadline. I needed someone that had multiple trade skills and was available. After coming to look at the work that needed to be done and giving me a list of materials to buy and for me to either pick up or arrange to have delivered, Hank presented himself as being able to do drywall, lay tile and install a fence. He took another job during the second week and became verbally abusive, cursing me when I questioned his commitment. When I asked him to pay for the $1110 damage to the pool, he threatened to tear down 3 porticos.
Description of Work: Hank gutted and framed two bathrooms, did some miscellaneous trim work, and worked with a plumber and electrician to change one bathroom from a tub to a custom shower and another to a jacuzzi tub. He also scabbed in miscellaneous framing from termite damage. He attempted to do some dry wall and fence installation that turned into a NIGHTMARE. He took 2 days to hang sheet rock in an 8x12 room and 3 days to tape and spackle it. I found that an unreasonable amount of time (a week pay at an hourly rate of $30 an hour) to do a pretty simple straight forward job. He ruptured a pool line digging the fence holes, continued digging, ruptured the second line, and didn't tell me about his mistake until the end of the day. The pool contractor had to drive to Virginia to get the parts to fix it while the pool leaked $1000.00 of water. Hank admitted that he did not think he "should have dug there" but did so anyhow without consulting me prior to digging. He has no insurance. Cost me $1110.

Punctual/Professional at all times. Excellent workmanship! This guy shows up and does what he says he can do. Very exacting trim work and all around quality craftsman. Always had the correct tools and cleaned up daily!! Hank finished the job on time and within budget. Never complained about my adding additional tasks. I will invite back to install decking and fencing in the summer.
Description of Work: Hank finished a second bedroom addition complete with a walk-in closet. He enclosed and insulated steel beams with a coffered cieling, crown molding, blue board and full corner trims. He also fixed many trim pieces, fabricated custom stringer boards and installed 14 Ipe stair treads. Plus a bunch of misc. tasks I keep finding for him to do, like installing 5 pocket door latches, 4 doorway floor transitions, patching sheetrock holes (I was hunting for a dead mouse in the ceiling...urgh!). Hank installed closet shelving and rods and ran electrical wire for a few switches in the new bedroom. He also fixed my fence and gate latches.
