Eco Care Pest Management

I thought I had a ground hog living under my shed and after contacting the local animal control people, I was given the names of several companies that would be able to remove/trap it for me. I chose Eco-Care Past Management and after I explained my problem, I was told the terms of the transaction. A representative came by the following day and placed a live trap near the shed. When I checked the following morning, there was a raccoon in the trap. I notified Eco-Care and another agent came by later in the day to remove the animal and reset the trap. I was informed that it was more likely a raccoon that was my problem than a ground hog. After catching one more raccoon, I asked that the trapping be discontinued. The persons representing Eco-Care were very professional and knowledgeable.and I would recommend them highly to anyone wishing to have "critters" removed from their property.

They use less-toxic chemicals if at all possible. They are very punctual. One thing I don't like is that they don't give you a warning before they come.

The man that arrived to do the work (on time) was very knowledgable about the products used by his company and about pests in general. He explained clearly what my options were with no pressure tactics to go for the higher cost options. The lady I spoke with on the phone at their place of business to arrange the visit was equally helpful both with setting the appointment and going over with me the available treatment options and associated costs. The work was performed very well with no disruption to my household at all. The kitchen was useable as soon as the tech. departed. I observed no odor and no residue from the treatment spray used. Total time for the treatment was about 40mins. No ants have been spotted since the visit. I opted for the one time treatment since I had seen no other critters anywhere else around the house, and would not hesitate to call on tho company again should the need arise.

We like them. It was a lot of money but we were having a big problem with rats. We're happy with them though. They're very nice and come regularly to check their bait stations. I don't have to worry about calling them.

They are great. I haven't compared their price, so I don't know what others charge. They just come on their own time because they need an appointment. When I have called them, they have usually come out.

We have a service contract with them and it’s about $450 a year. We will use them again in the future.

The guy who runs the place comes out the first time and talks to you. I like the guy and he helped us get rid of our neighbors rat collection and ants. They are very good and they tend to use benign skills which I like. We are on an annual pest control contract and they come out about 4 times a year. I pay about $440 a year. They do a good job.

I had a pretty good experience with them. They provided a lot of information on the firm before they came. They actually faxed over the list of chemicals they will be using because we have allergies in the house. That was fantastic. They did a very nice job.

For several months, there seemed to be more than just a few yellow jackets flying around our deck. Then I began to notice that they were actually flying in and out of the outside electrical box and occasionally one would appear inside the house. I found Eco Care Pest Management on Angie's List and, based on customers' comments, decided to give them a try. No one answered the phone when I called so I left a message. My call was returned an hour later and the receptionist took a brief history and contact information. She then transferred me to a technician, who is also co-owner of the company. He asked me very specific questions about the problem, explained in detail what needed to be done and what I should expect afterwards, and gave me an estimate. We set up an appointment for two days later. The other co-owner of the company came when expected. He confirmed the problem as yellow jackets and treated the electrical box. He explained everything thoroughly and said, in two weeks, I should not see any more yellow jackets. If I did, he would come back to re-treat at no additional cost. He was very professional and knowledgeable and provided advice to prevent another colony from setting up shop. The estimate was for $150 but he only charged $125, which I thought was extremely reasonable. I sent them an e-mail almost two weeks later because I had found two more yellow jackets in the house. He called back the next day and explained that it takes a full two weeks to eliminate all the life stages but if I was still seeing them at the two week mark he would come back. I haven't seen another yellow jacket since!

Charles was extremely knowledgeable about the products and services he was offering. I felt very comfortable with him. The package was a perfect fit for me, as it covers my ant issue all year. They did come back once, but within one day of the Eco care return visit they had gone back to where they came from. I plan on signing up again next year!

The owner tried to convince me to schedule this service (termite eradication) for a time after the basement waterproofing was completed.

I only sent an email about the area the business covers. There was a slight discrepancy from the Angie's List site and the company web site. My correspondence was returned promptly with a phone call. The person from Eco Care was very apologetic and they stated they did not service Harford County. However, a referral was made to another company of whom I used and was very happy with the service from them. I really appreciated the personal, friendly and prompt reply to my question. It's a small but important part of being in a "service" business. If you live within Eco Care's coverage area, I would certainly give them a try!

I have an annual contract with them, which is about $400. They come four times a year and any time in between that is required. They have come immediately whenever I have asked them and have done what it takes to solve the problem. I cannot compare them to other companies, especially in terms of the price, because I haven’t had any others. They were recommended to me, and they seem to be doing what I ask them to do. They call me when they are coming and come when they say they are going to come. Their professionalism is good. I would rate them highly.

This is my first time using Angie's List to find a company and also to write a report. I've used two large pest managment companies in the past (Orkin & Terminix) and ended up canceling both companies due to poor quality and customer service. When I started to have some pest problems, I went on Angie's List looking for a small, local pest control company with great ratings. I contacted Eco Care and spoke with Jackie to set up an appointment. Jackie was very knowledgeable and helpful and gave me detailed information about the Annual Home Shield Plan agreement that I was interested in. Erich from Eco Care showed up at the scheduled time - (for me, being on time is vital especially when taking time off from work to wait). We discussed my pest concerns (ants, spiders, bees, mice etc.) and I walked Erich through the problem areas in the house. My major concern was ants coming in through the fireplace and crawling all over our family room. Erich was very knowledgeable about all the different pests and made a great suggestion about the ants - cutting back an outside overgrown tree that was hitting the windows and fireplace. The branches of the tree make it easier for the ants to get in the house - this is not something I ever thought about so it made sense. Erich answered all my questions concerning treatment and chemicals used - especially when dealing with small children and pets (a curious dog that loves glue boards). Erich then did a detailed and complete treatment both inside (including my unfinished basement) and outside my house. He listened to what I said about my curious dog and used black box mouse traps for the areas where my dog will be. He even took down all the spider webs that were around my deck and outside patio area (believe me, it was a lot!) Taking done the outside spider webs was not something any of the other pest companies had ever done before. When Erich was done, he explained what to expect with the treatment and to give the ant problem about 2 weeks to work. Overall, I am completely satisfied with Eco Care Pest Management and will definitely recommend them. Thank you Eco Care!

When our house got invaded by House-Ants and Spiders, we found Eco-care on Angie's List award winner list. They were very responsive from the get-go, their office was able to determine our problem on phone and had us scheduled within a week. Charles walked us through all the chemicals he used and how they treat the problem. We had special request to minimize chemicals in the house due to kids, he was able accommodate the request and still get all the bugs. Charles is very knowledgeable and was able to explain the bug extermination process to us in plain English. We are very impressed by his use of very little chemicals inside the house and still be 100% effective, we haven't seen a single ant or spider in or around the house ever since. We have signed up for their Home Shield plan, they'll come out thrice a year and take care of seasonal bugs. The plan also allows us to call them for free anytime there is a specific bug problem excluding stink bugs and termites. They have different plans for them. Overall an excellent experience, would strongly recommend them to anyone looking for extermination services.

We had some "wily" groundhogs - trap shy and smart enough to evade triggering the traps with bait. Ecocare did manage to trap one especially ornery and too-close-to-the-house groundhog and made extra efforts to locate, lure, and trap the other animals. Since the big one was removed we haven't seen the others. Jackie and the team at EcoCare are friendly, professional and committed to their work and customers - they extended their services due to our challenging situation and didn't give up! Their extra efforts are much appreciated!

They are a family owned company. Overall they did a good job and it was a good experience. They were very professional and knowledgeable about what they were doing. They didn’t promote the use of necessary chemicals around the house. I would recommend them.

I just bought a house. I inherited the pest control contract from the previous owners. I was having some problems with ants. They came out and sprayed for the ants. I have mixed feelings about them. They seem to be a fairly small shop. They do not have a lot of guys working for them. The owner was very knowledge when I talked to him on the phone. He seemed to have a background with bugs and he was very helpful in answering my questions over the phone. I had mixed reactions to the technicians, though. I thought they were fine, but their approach was different from what I was used to with pest control. I think they threw the price in with the contract. I would use them until the contract lasts. Once the contract is up, I am not sure if I will renew it; I will probably switch to another company.

Charles was very knowledgeable and was very nice. I have had no problem with the service.

It has been around 2 years since we last used their service and I think we will be calling them out again. We had a yearly contract with them and they used to come out around 4 to 6 times and treat for bugs around my house. If you have any specific problems that comes up, they will come out and treat for free as long it is included in your service package. They are a bit pricey but I have not compared them with anybody else. The owner of the company went into great detail in explaining everything to me. I would highly recommend them.

I saw flying critters in my basement and called for an inspection. The woman who set my appointment by phone was fantastic and informative. The gentleman who came to my home was also top notch. He arrived as scheduled, which is a big deal to me. Then he educated me about the pests - ants, rather than the termites I had feared. He detailed all the options I had for treatment, which were very fair. And he took the time to detail areas of my home that termites might be able to develop - so that I could monitor myself. I was very impressed with Eco Care.

Their representative, Charlie, quietly went over to the snake and gently picked him up. The snake never seemed threatened or stressed and Charlie just let the snake be comfortable while he put him into his relocation container. The snake will be taken to a farm where he will be welcomed. I would highly recommend this company.

They use all eco-friendly products. They are extremely responsive, and whenever we have called them on any issue, they are out here the next morning. They are great and do a good job.

They come out for 4 different scheduled times, and then whenever you call them. They are prompt. If I call them, they pretty much come within 2 days. They are pet and kid friendly. I feel better about that with the cats and kids that we have. They are on top of things. When they say they are going to be here between 10:00 and 12:00, they are here by 10:00.
