Automatic Doorz

We were pleased. We ended up having to buy another part to our garage, but that Angie’s list deal was deducted from that part. I think the price was decent. I did not work with the guy one-on-one, but my husband did. He seemed to like him so much that he wanted to bring him back because we are going to have a new garage door eventually. So instead of trying to get us to buy one then, he went ahead and fixed what needed to be fixed. That is rare.

Needed to find someone to install a new garage door opener when the Home Depot contractor failed to contact us. Found Automatic Doorz via an Angie's List coupon. Called them on a Monday (spoke with Mike) and they scheduled the install early on Wednesday, so they provided quick response. Installer (Chris) arrived right on time and finished the job in about an hour, he clearly was very experienced in doing this work. He also adjusted the garage door spring to correct the door balance, at no extra cost! Overall a really excellent job at an extremely low price. Will definitely use Automatic Doorz for future work and we will recommend them to everyone.

Garage doors are opening and closing much more smoothly and quietly. The sensor works well and I am now able to use that door again.

I bought a tune up service for my garage door that wasn't working right. He came out and fixed it in about 5 minutes and even lubricated my other door for no additional charge. While $75 for 15 minutes sounds like a lot he fixed the problem and did more then asked. Would recommend these guys for sure.

Automatic Doorz was very prompt in setting up a convenient appointment (4-hour window) for me for the next day. During that timeframe the technician (Chris) called to say he was on the way and 10 minutes later he arrived. He gave both doors a tuneup (lubrication and adjustment.) One of the doors had been getting stuck occasionally when lifting upwards. That door immediately was operating smoothly. The second door had been having trouble closing. That door was now closing, however, it was bouncing around some and Chris continued to work on it and make more adjustments to it and the track. Eventually he got it working perfectly. I appreciate that he wouldn't quit until everything was just right. I had purchased 2 $75 garage door tuneup deals through Angie's List. There was no additional charge. I was very satisfied with the job done.

Showed up on time. Even came out on a Saturday. Repaired unbalance door and even serviced the door (lubed track, adjust settings)....all for $75. Employee was polite and professional.

My experience with Automatic Doorz could not have been better. They were able to come out and fix one of my garage doors the same day I called them, and at the same time tuned up both of the doors, so they are running more smoothly and quietly than they ever have. The price was very reasonable, especially given that it was same-day service, and Chris (the technician) was on time, was very friendly and professional, and was clearly very knowledgeable. Excellent...he explained my options and costs.......completed the job and helped me program all the openers and explained it very well.

Technician called ahead of arrival. Replaced both garage door springs, wire and pulleys. Lubricate door rollers and pulleys and went the extra mile and lubricated additional door. Technician made the extra effort to make sure everything worked properly and used superior parts to replace the original contractor grade parts that had broken. Job well done.

I called on a Saturday. Chris arrived that afternoon and made the repairs. They know their trade and are highly skilled. When my old door opener needs replaced, I will call them for sure.

I was under the impression that for the price I paid that I would get more than an evaluation and lubrication of my door.

Mike Alvarez of Auromaticdoorz was great. Sent an email about broken spring on Sunday afternoon and Mike contacted me to come out an repair the door on Monday. He came out and repaired to door. Purchased the Garage Door Tune-up deal for each of my garage doors. The technician (Chris) arrived within the scheduled window and went right to work on the doors. He was very knowledgeable and answered all questions that I asked. He started by lubricating all of the rollers and hinges, checked the springs, and checked the settings on the automatic door openers. Additionally, he noticed that some of the bracing where the opener attaches to the door was inadequate so he added more bracing to secure the attachment point. Then he noticed that the safety sensors were mounted too high and he moved them to the correct height. He was also able to troubleshoot and resolve an issue with one of the doors getting out of level when it opened which was causing one of the rollers to pull out of the track. Overall, it was a very good experience and I would not hesitate to hire Garage Doorz again.

Prompt and professional. Really went over all my concerns and explained everything about the garage doors. Charged me the minimum service call. While there wasn't too much for him to do he really did everything he could and addressed every maintenance item it seemed. Was pleased and would use again if I had a problem.

The Technician arrived within 4 hrs of our call. He immediately diagnosed the problem with a broken Torsion Spring on top of the door. He replaced both the Torsion Springs, which had on his truck. He got the door working normally within an hour. Mr Chris seemed to be well experienced and was easy to work with.

Actually, the price was good. They were cheaper than others by not charging a service call charge. However, I gave a B on price because the springs that they installed were smaller and less robust than the ones I had, so I came away feeling that I got what I paid for. They only warrant their springs for a year, not sure if that is industry-standard. I also asked the technician about cost for replacing garage door opener and he quoted a 1/2 HP unit whereas another person in the shop said I should stay with a 3/4HP unit, resulting in confusion.I asked the technician if there was anything that I should do to maintain my garage door properly and he said really nothing. That bothered me only because in the past when I had garage service, I seem to recall a technician telling me what and how to lubricate certain parts. I am not sure who is right or wrong here, but it added a little uncertainty for me, the consumer. Their replacement price was similar, if not a bit more expensive than what Sears offered. The technician was excellent in calling ahead several times to give me an estimated time of arrival, I appreciated that since he was running a bit late. Overall I will probably not call them to replace my opener and only time will tell if the springs they installed will give me a suitable wear-life.

This is the first time I used an Angie's List service provider and the first time I wrote a review. I had not owned a home for 18 years when I bought my home last year and I know very little about taking care of a home. My garage door had been creaking open and closed for a while and finally broke on my birthday; it would only raise up and down one panel. I called Automatic Doorz because of their excellent service record on Angie's List. I purchased a Big Deal garage door tune-up for $75 (although I figured the work would be more than a tune-up) and called the company for service. Mike answered the phone promptly, discussed what might be the problem, and we set an appointment for two days later on a Friday. Mike told me that the technician would call me within a certain time period to let me know when he would arrive. The technician Alex did call within the time period. When Alex arrived I thought he was young but he knew his job inside and out and was very professional and courteous. Alex determined that one of the two major springs had broken and he wrote up an estimate for a full servicing of the garage door at a price that I thought was quite reasonable. Alex did his job very carefully, and patiently answered my many questions about how the door worked. Every time I mentioned an issue (creaky rollers, loud motor) Alex re-checked the parts to make sure they were in order and to improve their operation. He even went to the trouble of explaining how my outside keypad works and showing me how to reset it. Alex completed the payment process with me and left promptly. I remembered the Big Deal I had purchased and decided to call Mike on Monday to let him know. Instead, Mike called me first thing Saturday to tell me that I had been mischarged and I would receive a credit for the $75. I told Mike what a great job Alex had done and that he is an excellent representative of Automatic Doorz. One project down and many more to go. Installation of the new garage door opener went great (this was a new opener not a replacement/retrofit of an existing one), excellent communication and service overall. The installing technician was very efficient with time and was done within 90 minutes, he also demonstrated all of the features and options on the opener. Basically the best review I can provide is I will use this company again for my garage door needs.

Mike was on time. Gave a free estimate. Ordered all the parts quickly and correctly. Installed the new door to our complete satisfaction. He even made another trip upon our request to check door and answer questions.
