Automatic Doorz

My garage door broke last night and was stuck partially open. I called Automatic Doorz this morning, and they had a technician at my house in less than 3 hours. Alex, the tech, was fantastic! He called to give me a 45 minute heads up and then again when he arrived - on time :) He diagnosed the problem quickly (busted springs), got the parts from the van, and had the door up and running in no time (under an hour arrival to departure). I'd definitely use them again! Thanks Alex!

Scheduling was very easy, via e-mail and follow-up phone call. Technician arrived one time, providing a courtesy call that he was on the way. He worked efficiently, walked me through what he was doing and completed the work. He walked me though a few things and answered all of my questions.

Good communications and on-time, tuneup was pretty basic but the garage door is working fine. I would definitely reach out to this company for future needs and would have no issues giving them my business if their price was competitive with other providers.

Overall very well. Placed service call with Mike in the morning and Chris showed up around 12:30p the same day. I had expected a call 30 minutes ahead of arrival but since I was working from home, not having the call didn't bother me. Chris assessed the situation and gave me estimates on a couple options (replacing the torsion spring, replace with extension spring, or new door - my ask). He recommended replace with extension spring because when the torsion spring breaks, you're not going to know which results in the damage to the contact point when the opener tries to pull the garage door without the assist from the springs. I had some damage to the bottom seal (probably a trapped squirrel trying to get out) that Chris couldn't remove because of the particular model of door. I had a Wayne Dalton door that the bottom seal wouldn't slide out but Chris gave me reference to the nearest Wayne Dalton distributor to find the parts. We had some pleasant exchanges and I'd learned a few lessons of the trade from Chris. The cost for the service provided was fair.

I am so more than happy with Automatic Doorz, it was professional and seamless from start to finish, they are courteous and responsive, efficient, got the door up in no time and just overall great , have started recommending them to friends, the farage door looks a great!

Technician represented the company quite well... He was very prompt, professional & honest... Kept me informed from beginning to end, and took the time to explain everything from A-Z... It was a pleasure doing business with this company... Surprised me by not trying to sell me a bunch of parts I didn't need... Just very thankful I can now use my remote, keypad, and open/close the garage door!! I will definitely keep them in my list of contacts and use again if need be...

Service was excellent. They managed to fit me into their schedule two days after I purchased the service. Tech showed up within the time window - Mike the owner updated me on the tech's status and arrival time. The technician showed up on time, performed a complete service (alignment of door, lubrication of hinges, track wheels, adjustment of sensors, etc.). Spoke with the tech about intermittent issues with the door (occasionally retracting about a foot off the ground). The technician troubleshot the issue, fixed it (adjusted downforce on the garage door motor), explained the cause of the issue. Was very pleased with the experience.

When the spring broke, I could no longer open our garage door (the primary way we typically enter our house). I called in the morning, and he was able to come that afternoon! He replaced the broken spring and the other one. He seemed quite experienced, and did a good job.

Contacted Automatic Doorz via Angie's List after my old garage door opener stopped working. Mike contacted me within an hour after my request. He gave me suggestions over the phone to make sure that the old garage door opener was in fact not a simple fix. Then he made gave me estimates about how much the cost to repair the old opener was versus buying a new one and having Automatic Doorz install it for me. We opted to buy a new one, Mike made suggestions about openers that he found reliable, and we scheduled a four-hour window where his installer would contact me. Chris called right in the middle of the four hour window and arrived at my residence 15 minutes later. The installation took about 45 minutes after which Chris took the time to explain what he had done and demonstrated the features of the new opener. Really could not ask for a better experience. Highly recommend.

Called company the day earlier to get a price quote and then scheduled service within a 4 hour window. Very easy to deal with. Day of service, I received a 20-minute notice from Chris that he was on his way to do the install, right in the middle of the scheduled window. Chris was very professional, and had the old unit, including old rails, swapped out and replaced with the high-end belt-driven unit within 45 minutes. Many times, I've felt that contractors do the bear minimum amount of work which makes me want to try and do everything I can myself. I was very pleased that this was not the case. What was different? 1) After looking at where the older wall-mounted control panel was placed, Chris realized it was inconvenient and told us he would rewire and move the new panel to a place more convenient to the door of the house. I wouldn't have even thought of it had Chris not mentioned it, but what a difference it made on accessibility. Looks good too. He also asked us for lightbulbs to install in the unit so we would not have to do this later. Sometimes it's just the little things :) 2) Chris spent several minutes discussing the features and operation of the new opener. When I asked about durability of belts versus chains, he even went to his truck and had me feel the difference in materials. It was clear he uses the same products in his own home, so was very familiar with them. 3) He also lubricated the garage door hinges/rollers and inspected for wear and tear, no charge. I appreciated the fact that he did not try to push any additional services on me - just gave me an honest assessment. 4) The garage was probably cleaner when he left than when he arrived. No leftover packaging materials, etc - just very conscientious. As far as the company itself? Top marks as far as I'm concerned. I called two other companies to get an estimated price quote. Mike responded to my email and phone call right away and indicated they were having a special on Angies List. The cost was just slightly higher because I had an 8' rail and asked for additional car unit. Two other companies, both highly rated on Angie's list, were significantly more expensive for the exact same product / install. The installed unit also included smart-phone app and homelink type interfacing. To be fair, the company doesn't do the programming for this (not sure their competitors do either), but I was able to do everything myself in 5 minutes, literally. Finally, the quality of the product, and install, is great - it is hard to explain how quiet the garage door opens and closes now - I can barely hear it and this is a large single door (8' x 16') underneath the master bedroom. All in all, I recommend these guys 100% and will definitely use them again with future work.

I normally don't write reviews, but I wanted to take the time to let everyone know that if they have a garage problem, use Automatic Doorz. I moved into a new home and unfortunately the first night there we heard a loud pop in the garage. The extension spring and safety cable broke. I called Automatic Doorz and they were near my home that day and said they could come by that day to do the repair. Not only did they replace the spring and cable (and the matching one on the other side along with the pulleys), but Chris took the time to explain to me the ins and outs of garage maintenance. He programmed the keypads for us, and then took the time to look over the other garage door (which was starting to crack, so he added a metal support, no charge). Automatic Doorz was professional, prompt, courteous and helpful. While I hope to never have to use them again, if I have a garage problem, I will definitely use them.

They did not contact me right away, in fact it was weeks before I heard from them But the job went smoothly once scheduled and the doors are operating great.

This is the second time I've called upon the company, and yet again they were beyond expectation. About six months ago, we had cable replaced on a very old wooden door. The door was nearing the need for replacement, but the repair gave us a few extra months. This time around, the spring system gave out. The door was off track completely when we tried to open, and our car was inside. Unfortunately this happened on a Sunday and I assumed I'd need to leave a message for Mike, the owner. But, to no surprise from my last experience of exceptional customer service, Mike answered the phone on a Sunday and told me that he'd have someone to the house first thing Monday morning. Sure enough, five minutes early, the technician showed up, lifted the door so that I could move the car out and we discussed options. The spring system could be replaced to solve the problem, or we could consider replacing the door. To note, the door was wooden, original from 1962 and very heavy. The motor had been replaced several years before we purchased the house, and it was obvious that it was getting a lot of wear and tear to lift the heavy door. We decided that we'd go ahead and replace the door to a much lighter aluminum door with insulation and windows. The tech quoted $1500 and said he'd call Mike to confirm. Much to my surprise, Mike said it would only be $1300. When does that ever happen??? And to make matters even better, the replacement could take place the following morning. Next morning, the door was replaced in about an hour and a half neatly and excellently. We love it!! We love the company!!! We highly recommend. Thanks again Mike and Automatic Doorz!!

I had several problems. Door wouldn't open (runner was detached from trolley), outside key pad didn't work, inside switch worked intermittently. Chris was a little hard to reach, but I kept the faith based on Angie's list reviews, and after 2 or 3 days we connected, Chris came on time and was very professional - explained he could fix it for $75, but might have to be back as the repair would likely be temporary. On further investigation he got the door back in service, which included some somewhat delicate adjustments, He also fixed the key pad and replaced the inside switch. He then noticed a squealing and after investigation found that the door rivets had been torn off (in a past issue some years back). He then used metal screws to reconnect the door. He was with me for a little over an hour (which included learning some family history) and put everything under an Angie's list special of $75. I asked him to make the ticket out for $100, which he declined to do. He said "I like to fix things". I have felt good about this positive experience all day.

They were great, I would recommend them the anyone.

I contacted Automatic Doorz after my existing 17 year older garage door opener died. They arrived on time and after I indicated I didn't want to try to repair it and I wanted a better quality unit, they recommended a belt drive unit. They also informed me of an Angie's list deal on the unit. I thought the visit was just for an estimate, but they said they were prepared to install it on the spot if that was OK with me. I gave the go ahead and they installed the unit and did a tune-up on the door in no time. I was please with the price, the install, and the timeliness.

They did a great job. They were extremely polite.

I purchased the Big Deal for the tune-up and extension spring(s) replacement. Not sure if this would address my issue at my rental property, I purchased anyway. They gave me a call indicating that I needed a spring replacement that wasn't included in the deal. But, the price they gave me was fair and was still able to make the repair on the spot which made me happy (and therefore kept my tenants happy). They were very prompt, professional and would likely use them again in the future.

Technicians arrived on time for assessment and the garage door installation. I purchased the door on Thursday, the assessment was on Monday, and the installation on Tuesday. This was great turn around since my old garage door was malfunctioning. The door and supporting materials such as springs and track rails were all replaced. The tech also serviced the garage door opener. I thought the opener needed to be replaced, but Mike evaluated and determined it only needed servicing. This was a refreshing experience that he did not try to take advantage of me and try sale me a new opener. Jamie performed the install and his work was exceptional. The door operation is smooth and is very quiet. After struggling with the former garage door for a few months, I now smile inside when I one the new door.

That was good. They were great. The technician especially was very good. It turned out fine. They were so prompt, they were all good and the technician God! He was especially good. I would use them again in the future.

I bought a big deal for this service and it was perfect. He was great. He gave me things and did things that were way over and above my expectations. He could have charged me considerably more if he wished. I would strongly recommend him to anyone.

They were great and they came in and did a really good job. The price was reasonable and they cleaned up. They came out quickly and when they said they would. They did not sit around and chit chat, they just got to work.

Paul was fantastic. He was prompt. He worked almost a full day (9-3). The installation was great, the price for the door was great and I was very happy. Would use again!
