My old TRANE heat pump stopped working and I wanted to get the outdoor and indoor units replaced with a newer more efficient system. All American Mechanical, Inc. provided a competitive quote with multiple options based on my request and I went for the Trane 4-ton XL16i. The quote for the systems included the AHRI#, the outdoor model#, indoor model# so that I could research the efficiency of the systems, best matched outdoor/indoor units from the industry respected AHRI website for certified product performance. On the day of the installation, they arrived on time and started working on it. As agreed upon earlier, they tested my existing copper pipes between the outdoor/indoor units using machines to test pressure & vacuum clean them and showed me the gauge readings that they were fine. They checked my existing Honeywell thermostat that was almost new and indicated that it would work fine. They installed the new Trane outdoor and indoor units, checked all power related things and tested the system for heating and cooling for a few minutes at the end. Finally they did the paperwork and provided instant manufacturer & BGE discounts. The same day they took care of registering my Heat pump and Air Handler with the manufacturer/Trane and sent me the registration/warranty PDF certificate via email. I would highly recommend them due to their professionalism and the wonderful experience along with competitive pricing and time savings due to the instant rebates & registration. I would certainly use them again and refer them to my friends.

On the hottest night of the year so far, my AC unit outside stopped running. I searched online for a Trane authorized repair company and found AAM with great reviews. At midnight I left a message on their website and by 8:00 am the next morning the owner called me an setup a service call for that afternoon. The repair team arrived at the promised time and were able to diagnose a failed component (capacitor) inside, had a replacement and fixed my unit in about 30 minutes. Very competent, professional, friendly and reasonably priced. I would use and recommend them for any HVAC problem.

Excellent service. Very thorough and professional. Apparently some animal(s) chewed through the wires inside my HVAC unit. I called at 9pm and they had a tech out to me by 10am the next morning. The tech was prompt, courteous, informative, and went beyond the repair to make sure everything was in good order. I will definitely call All American in the future.

My AC stopped working during a basement flood. There was flooding across my local area, so I was lucky to find these guys available. I called them at 9:30 and by 11am they were at my house. The tech was very friendly and professional. The control board on the AC unit had been fried when the water hit it, and they did have spare ones in the truck. By 11:45 my AC was back on and working properly. I will definitely call All American Mechanical again in the future if I need HVAC work.

Our home had three very old HVAC systems that needed to be replaced. One was completely broken and the other two were loud, inefficient, and unreliable. I’ve worked with All American Mechanical in the past for a different property, and immediately called them for our new project in April 2018. The owner, Husain Ali, is a professional engineer and spent time educating us on the new options and how we could realize additional efficiency gains through creative solutions that his company uses. They installed new compressors and air handlers for all of the systems on schedule, with Mr. Ali overseeing the work himself. The crew that he sent was professional, polite, and easy to work with. Despite some challenges with cramped space allocation in the attic unit and some extra duct work needed for a basement unit, Mr. Ali did not charge us more for the extra labor and supplies. The price that he gave us was a great deal, and will give us flexibility in dealing with other expenses. We are very grateful to All American Mechanical and Mr. Ali. The are courteous, professional, and experts in their trade. This was our best experience working with a contractor on a project! We highly recommend them, and will use them for all of our future work related to heating and air conditioning. - Jason K. in Highland MD

They beat the competition with a fair price for a Trane system that was sized appropriately for our home. They offered a clear explanation of options. Installation was done on-schedule and neatly. The wall thermostat developed a problem after about 10 months and they isolated the problem and fixed it quickly at no charge. The owner is very easy to work with.

Research no more!!! BEST priced, excellent and immediate customer service, my GO TO for all heat pump needs for my rental and own resident. I was 8 months pregnant in the heat of Jun when our heat pumped died. I called every dealer that Trane had on their website and All American had the best rate and customer service -- beat some companies for the exact same Trane unit by over $600 dollars BEST of all they came in and installed a new heat pump in 3 days (2 days after I called)!!! It was an emergency for me and the company made it happen. Other companies needed at least a week. The crew came and worked efficiently and wore covers on their shoes while in the house. When my 15 year old heat pump in my rental condo stopped working, All American came to the rescue, inspected the unit the same day, fixed the issue but the unit was so old it was time to change it and they installed a new one within a week. I have recommended this company to friends and family and they have all been very impressed! RELIABLE, TRUSTWORTHY, NO HASSLE, BEST PRICED company. Hussain is very knowledgeable, patient, explained whats wrong/issues, and provided description of the problem and what the company can do -- not a salesman which I truly appreciated. Some companies I called wouldn't even give me a quote over the phone once I provided them what I needed down to the unit without them coming out. Hussain gave me quotes for the minimal to most efficient unit that I would need on the initial call in case I would need to replace it. Call them and find out for yourself!!!

This write up is long overdue for this was the best company and technical expertise that no other company truly matched. In the summer of 2016, the All American Mechanical Company located in Ellicott City, MD removed my old gas furnace and air conditioning unit. They installed a new Trane gas furnace and Trane air conditioner unit at my home located in Catonsville, MD. Husain who is part owner of the family run All American Mechanical Company displayed professionalism and integrity throughout the process of establishing the estimate and finalizing the sales contract. Husain has an in creditable knowledge of various Trane units. He recommended units that would work for the size of my home and explained the differences. Other companies used typical sales pitch techniques, which in my view was only out to get any product at top price. Husain’s approach was informative, honest and from his engineering background, he provided technical details that no other company spoke about or even suggested. He is absolutely a subject matter expert in this field! Husain genuinely worked to make my home better. For example, he suggested removal of a section of the duct work and replacing it with a wider section to allow more air to flow up to the second floor. Once installed, the wider section positively made a difference with airflow on the second floor. I also wanted to add that Husain was on site throughout the removal and installation of the new Trane units. He oversaw the project and managed his crew. It gave me a sense of ease knowing he was there. In going forward, I am using the All American Mechanical Company for the yearly maintenance on my Trane units. I high recommend them for the quality of their professional work, reliability and most importantly the technical knowledge.

Exceeeded my expectations. It helps when both the owner and his brother are mechanical engineers. They were the most competent people I had met in that line of work. Very honest and their prices were spot on. Their bid was substantially below other quotes I had gotten. More importantly, what I liked was their transparency. They could have charged more, but they also applied rebates that I qualified for and no other company did that. They're fantastic. A job that was going to take nearly 2 days for others to do, they came with a team that completed the job in about 6 hours.

On short notice they came out and installed the new system that I did not buy from them. No one else I called wanted to do the job because we "did not buy the new equipment from them". They relaimed the R22 from the old system, dismantled it and took that away. They installed a new 4ton Goodman condensor out side, a new matching Gooman evaporator coil in the existing air handler, along with the new line set and an electrical disconnect box out side that did not exist for the old 22 year old system. They were on time, did great work and I could not be happier with the results. We had used these guys before for furnace repairs and a recharge of the old AC unit. They have always been great and their prices fair.

We have had a contract with H&C for 20 years and during our Spring check-up, we were warned AC was using too much power. It was 17 years old so the search for best value started. We got estimates from THREE major companies, including the one we've used for so many years. Husain Ali was most responsive and his mechanical engineering degree convinced us to check references he provided. We opted not to get a new furnance since we just had a recent replacement of blower motor. Neighbors have depended on him for years and recommended highly. His quote for exactly the same unit as the other two was best and he scheduled installation within days, working with our schedule. We will definitely go with him when we have to renew our maintenance contract and/or need a new furnance.

This is the second time I have used this company and I am super impressed. In the midst of a major power outage they were at my home within 24 hours of my call. Plus, they called me when they were running behind, which I really appreciated. The total repair was under $200, a reasonable price for replacement of a defective part in my heat pump. Last year they replaced my furnace and charged me 60% less than Sanford Kramer had quoted, for the very same high efficiency unit. Plus, they were able to solve a recurrent problem I had with a difference of 10-15 degrees in temperature from one room to the next (separarated by one wall). They discovered that the company that installed our HVAC (ARS) had left off the end cap on the main trunk line! ARS came back 3-4 times and could never figure it out. We paid ARS for multiple service calls and none of their "fixes" solved the problem, which was caused by their oversight. The owner of this company is a mechanical engineer who is knowledgeable, honest, and a gentleman. I have already recommended them to many friends, who also are pleased with their service and their pricing.

The owner supervised the job from start to finish. The crew arrived on time as promised and performed the removal of the old units and installation of the new units very efficiently. The crew was extremely polite and respectful of our environment. They rolled out a red carpet over our carpet and floor and wore little booties to keep the house clean. The job took a little longer than planned as they took pains to assure that we were satisfied with the planned locations of the units. The run of the high pressure freon line to the upstairs unit was particularly difficult because the chase from the basement would not work. They took a circuitous route through the garage and attic to the upstairs airhandler so that a cosmetically pleasant but functional solution was achieved. Due to the complexity of the job, as expected, there were some problems that occurred. The outside temperature sensors that fed information to the smart thermostats initially did not work consistently and Mr Husain determined that a discrete wire from outside to the thermostat was required. They installed these wires with minimal disruption to the existing structures and drywall. The airflow to my master bedroom was significantly less due to the configuration of my ductwork and the operational feature of the new airhandler that had variable speeds and a pressure sensor that could not overcome the suboptimal configuration of the ductwork. Mr Husain spent all the time that was necessary to adjust the electronic settings of the units and actually installed a booster fan to my bedroom which now has great airflow. I can't say enough about the work ethic and diligence that All American Mechanical exhibited in perfoming my project for a very reasonable price and strong determination to make sure the job was done correctly and to my satisfaction.
Description of Work: I had three heat pumps and two gas furnaces replaced as they were 19 years old. The project required running new high pressure lines as the old lines were only suitable for the old type of refrigerant. We also had them install programmable thermostats to allow appropriate function of the units. Two humidifiers and two media air filters were also installed.

My husband and I called this company for a free estimate. At first, he was responsive and came out the next day. He quoted us a fair price on a coil. When we called back to ask for service is when things started to go downhill. We emailed the signed contract back to him and did not hear anything back from him. I called a couple days later and he told me in 2 days he will come to my home to replace our coil. The day came and at 5:00 pm he said his men were on their way. He then asked how would we pay for the service and I told him credit card. He said "no, no, no credit card..check." I said "I can't pay by credit card" and he said "no check only." So, I told him to hold on so I could talk with my husband. While talking with my husband the phone disconnected. He then called me back twice and the second time I answered and he was very rude. He yelled "you hung up on me, my men are waiting what are you going to do!" I replied "don't yell at me there is no need" He said "if you have to we will take credit." I said fine send your men out. So, we waited and waited and no one showed up! We called him back around 7:30 to see what was going on and we had to leave a message. In summary, we still have no a/c and were very disappointed in his unprofessionalism and are still perplexed why they wouldn't accept credit when their company ad says they accept credit.

Overall, we appreciated the patience and ability of All-American to solve a uncommon problem that wasn't even occuring during the first half-hour of the house call. Parts were $170 and labor $125 for about an hour's work (plus travel time) - which seems reasonable.
Description of Work: Our 18-year old A/C unit started cycling off and on 2-4 times shortly each time it started up, when the thermostat called for cooling. Otherwise it was functioning fine, blowing cold air like it always has. If this short-cycling kept up, the unit would have broken down much sooner because of the stresses of constantly starting and stopping. We called All-American and the owner came out. He tested the unit and all of the readings were perfect -- amazing for a machine this old. None of the usual causes of short-cycling were apparent -- like low refigerant, compressor failure or a thermostat problem. In fact, it stopped short cycling during the first half hour of the service call--wouldn't you know it! The owner acknowledged that there was no obvious cause but that certain repairs could be "tried" if I wanted to pay for them. These repairs were made in succession to see if they would stop the short-cycling: replacing the capacitator, adding a "booster" for the start-up of the compressor, repairing a frayed thermostat wire, replacing the "contactor" (a relay that starts the compressor via the low-voltage signal from the thermostat and control board--it turned out to be very corroded from the weather). Finally he took a few minutes to by-pass the automatic delay feature of the compressor, because the thermostat already had one -- this keeps the compressor from starting for 3-4 minutes when it has just been running. The problem was corrected when the last two steps were taken. Perhaps these steps should have been taken first, but who knew? It was an unusual problem. Two wear-out parts (contactor and capacitator) were replaced, which should lengthen the useful life of the unit. Since this was a high-end unit with a reasonably good SEER rating when it was made (even though old), we felt the repair made sense versus putting in an new very high-efficiency heating-cooling system for $6500 or more. We'll do that when it finally breaks down. In the meantime we're going to invest $1000 in added, blown-in attic insulation, which will probably achieve more savings on the electric bill than installing even the most effiicient new system.

The company was easy & pleasant to deal with. The technician was supposed to call me when he was 1/2 hour away from my home so that I could leave work early. He called earlier than the original time frame we agreed on and said he was running early from his last appointment and asked if I could meet him about 1/2 hour earlier than the original time frame I had agreed to. I said OK and headed home. It took him much longer than he expected to arrive at my house (about an hour instead of the 1/2 hour he had indicated). Not a big deal, but I could have worked longer instead of sitting home waiting. The technician was pleasant and profressional. He just couldn't figure out the issue. He felt certain it wasn't electrical and that the AC unit and the compressor were fine. The part he added didn't solve the problem and as soon as the weather heated up again, the problem begain again. Since the All American HVAC guy said the unit was fine, we then called an electrician (from a different company) who determined that there was not a problem with anything electrical. The electrician replaced the circuit breaker as a precaution (since the part was cheap and we were going to pay the service call charge anyway) but that didn't solve the problem either. I am now waiting for a different HVAC company to come to fix our problem. I did not call All Amereican Mechanical again because I felt like I wasted $200 and an afternoon with their first visit. While the company was professional and very easy to deal with, I did not want to spend any more money with a company that did not solve a problem that is supposed to be in their realm of expertise. Had they solved the problem, I probably would have given them an overall A, including an A for Quailty and Price. However, not solving the problem means they didn't do their job, so I think a grade of C is more than fair.
Description of Work: Our central A/C unit kept tripping the circuit breaker each time it cycled back on. The technician tested the unit and couldn't find anything wrong with it but he installed a booster ($62) thinking that might help.
