 + -1 moreScheduled visit with Stephanie at Wooten via email and phone, she was very upbeat and helpful. I supplied lots of detail and model number when I made the date so that Darryl could bring the right part. He did exactly that, checking to confirm his pre-visit guess-diagnosis upon arrival. The temp sensor was bad, the cable had melted and fused no doubt due to an oven self-cleaning months ago. Darryl replaced the sensor and helped me see how to take out the oven bottom for future manual cleaning (the self cleaning cycle often is so hot that it stresses the parts). Darryl was articulate and helpful and I consider the cost for the visit, part, and labor very fair.
Description of Work: Had shutdown and F2 electronic error display on GE Profile Gas Range oven control. Intermittent for months, slowly more frequent including spontaneous in middle of night.

 + -1 moreWooten is highly responsive and very pleasant to work with. I heartily recommend them -- although this job took several visits to complete. On first visit, technician arrived an hour past the given 3-6 pm window on a Friday night, but inclement weather was a factor. He did a good job of communicating his situation. After arriving, he diagnosed problem as a failing pressure regulator, but did not have the part in his truck. Said someone would call on Monday with an estimated cost and to reschedule. By end of Tuesday, I had not received a call so I contacted Wooten. Receptionist checked record, which did not indicate a need to call with estimate, just to reschedule. Price was acceptable, so technician came a second time to replace part. Oven worked fine. About a week later, we smelled gas coming from oven, so requested a return visit. Technician arrived about 15 minutes past the 3-6 pm window, again communicating that he would be late. He found two leaks and wanted to use a sealant that he did not have on hand. He came back the following morning with sealant.
Description of Work: Gas oven repair. Diagnosed and replaced pressure regulator, follow-up to address leaking gas.

 + -1 morepaid the $99 service call and they came back with the part a few days later. At that point we paid $45 for 1 hour of service and about $45 for the part. Total cost was around 190. I think that was fair, and they got it done efficiently and effectively.

He was here only for 4 minutes. He didn't do much but he was very professional. It wasn't like he took his tools out but it's running fine now. Our experience with them was neither bad nor good.

We chose Wooten based on the high marks he had received on Angie's List and we were not disappointed. We received poor service from Sears--they refused to guarantee the necessary part to fix our oven would be available when the service technician arrived for the third time. No such problems with Wooten.

 + -1 moreDuring an energy audit we were told we may have a carbon dioxide leak. Wooten Appliance came out and disassembled the bottom of the oven and determined there was no CO2 leak, but they did adjust the gas/air mixture for our gas oven. He explained each step of the process and helped us understand how a gas oven works. He even took time afterwards to answer a couple of questions about other appliances. Overall it was a good experience and we would call again if needed.

Description of Work: Our stove was displaying an error PF while we had no power failure. We called Daryl on a Friday night at 7:30 PM and he told us he could come within the hour. He came as scheduled, checked the stove and the breaker and found that the problem was in the breaker. He nevertheless took the model number for the stove and told us to call again if the probem repeated itself, the board would need to be replaced. So he would have the information needed to come with the board.

Description of Work: Wooten Appliance was easy to schedule and flexible. They come to Montgomery Co, MD, every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Daryl Wooten arrived on time and discovered that the previous owners of the house had let the dryer vent fill with lint to the point that the dryer could not function, and it presented a serious fire hazard. Daryl and his helper cleared the vent, removed the dryer drum and cleared it of lint, and reassembled it. Daryl was professional, knowledgeable, and helpful. It was an excellent experience and I have already given his contact information to a friend who needs large appliance service. I highly recommend his services.

 + -1 moreDaryl and Cody were very professional and two very nice guys. They were on time for each appointment we had and were very efficient in getting the job done. I'm very happy with the experience and will definitely ask them to come back the next time we need an appliance serviced.
Description of Work: Our tenant told us the washing machine was leaking. Our washing machine was also leaking and our dryer was constantly beeping (nonstop) and tearing up our clothes. Both our rental apartment and main house have front loading HE washer and dryer. Daryl and Cody arrived and found the source of our tenant's leaking machine within 5 minutes- hair that had gotten caught in the door and rendered the seal ineffective! The same proved to be true of ours. I would have never suspected, but now we know to thoroughly wipe down the glass door and seal of the machines after each use (Daryl did not charge us for this fix). The dryer was a bit tougher. They found that the inner seal had been torn off somehow and that is why the dryer was ripping up our clothing. They didn't have the part to fix it on hand, so scheduled another time to come back, which was no problem. They also reset the error code on the dryer to see if that would stop the beeping. I used the dryer once after they had reset it and the beeping definitely became more infrequent, but wasn't gone altogether. However, it's a lot more tolerable now. They guessed that the main computer inside the dryer might need to be replaced. I will probably choose to have them come back and do that work if the beeping gets worse again. I'm just happy our clothes won't be ruined any more and the beeping isn't constant!

 + -1 moreI called Wooten because we were selling my grandmother's house and the wall oven did not work. We were on a short time frame because we were settling on the house soon, so Daryl met us there at 7:30 pm. on a Friday night to look at the oven, After he looked at it he determined that it needed a new board and said he would check the price and email me on Monday with the price. He was prompt on Monday with the price, he also told me that because the price of a new board was high, I had the option of sending the old board out for repair, but because of the time thing, we chose to replace it. When the part came in, Daryl emailed me and told me to call his office to schedule the install. When I called the secretary told me that he was booked solid but he knew that we needed it done so he fit us in. He came out again in the evening and replaced the board, but first he tried replacing a transformer, because that would have been alot less expensive, but that didn't fix it. It turned out that it needed both the board and the transformer and because of Daryl's knowledge he brought both parts with him and fixed the over. We were very pleased with his service and would use him again and refer him to our friends.

 + -1 moreThey were very polite and professional. They diagnosed the problem as requiring one or the other of 2 parts, which had to be ordered. They returned several days later, but neither of those parts fixed the problem. It turned out to be the motor, and they said that for the age of the machine and the cost to replace, it would be better just to buy a new one. They did not charge for the return visit and work.
Description of Work: I hired Wooten to fix a washing machine that had stopped while it was full of water. Ultimately it was not cost-effective to repair, so I ended up getting a new one.

 + -1 moreWe had been having some issues with our washer/dryer unit. Wooten arranged to come within a few days of my initial call, and arrived on time. Darryl was friendly and helpful, although they didn't find much wrong with the unit. I was a bit taken aback to pay $131 for basically 20 minutes of their time, but Darryl seemed very competent and said that he would come back out to check on the unit free of charge (aside from parts, extra labor, etc.) if the problem occurred again.
