Janco Greenhouses

I was told that only a part identical to the original equipment would fit, so I paid the exorbitant price of $1,734.50 for the motor. When the vent motor didn?t arrive after a month or two, I contacted Sue Skaggs by phone numerous times. She gave various excuses for the delay and finally said the motor was no longer manufactured, and a new unit would have to be engineered. The product was finally delivered in March of 2010?six months after I ordered it. The product arrived with no instructions or wiring diagrams and numerous extraneous parts which didn?t match with the vent opening device. Frankly, it looked like a real ?Rube Goldberg.? We had to do extensive re-engineering to install and attach the device. Next, we hired an experienced electrician from the firm that wired our house to configure the wiring. His first question was ?Where is the wiring diagram?? He spent a lot of time getting frustrated?at the rate of $100/hour. The electrician said there was no mechanism included to stop the motor when the vent is fully open or fully closed, so the motor just keeps running and would quickly burn out or damage the greenhouse vent if allowed to continue. I recently left at least two voice messages on Sue Skagg?s phone and one on the main office phone?using the new phone numbers from the Janco website. No one has bothered to return my calls. On May 18th I emailed a letter to Benjamin J. Hendrckson, Sr., President of Janco Greenhouses asking someone to contact me with instructions for operation of the motor. I have had no contact from them since the part finally arrived in March. I would like them to provide me with instructions, parts and whatever I need to make the motor functional and reimburse me for the cost of the electrician.
