This company is a complete rip off and I now see why they are only rated 3.8 stars on Google. Sorry for the long review in advance, but do yourself a favor and do not use this company if you value your time and money. My furnace began blowing cold air this past Christmas Eve night, and with me having a small toddler in the home on one of the coldest days of the winter I deemed this issue an emergency. Crouse Bros had a technician come out on Christmas Day for a whopping emergency price of $195 an hour. I'm not sure how the service tech that came out got hired because he was unable to resolve my issue and gave an absolutely incorrect diagnosis. At first the diagnosis was a bad igniter, then it changed to me needing a new control board and that it would have to be ordered meaning a minimum of two additional days without heat in my home. On top of that, he left his tools in my attic where my furnace is located, and left my home with my therostat shut off due to him flicking the controller off on the furnace. Two days later a different tech comes to my home control board in hand, and informs me that the control board was not the issue after poking around in my furnace for an hour or so. He provided a temporary fix (he fixed a wiring short) that he told me could have been fixed by the 1st tech that came out on Christmas day. Well that "fix" only lasted 24 hours and cost me $390. Mind-boggling because at first Crouse Bros originally charged me for both visits ($585), but then only made me pay for the service visit on Christmas day after kindly informing them that the second visit wasn't even necessary if the first tech would have done the job right. The 2nd tech had to come back out the next day because his "fix" like I said before did not even last for 24 hours. That next day he did some work like installing the control board he had in hand the previous day, and cleaning something in the furnace. He then informs me that my exhaust motor was really loud and would need to be replaced. Thank God I was not charged for his 2nd visit after already dishing out almost $400 for something that was not fully resolved. So the NEXT day I get a call from one of the admins/front desk ladies saying that they have to order a exhaust motor for me and that it would cost an additional $195 + the cost of shipping for the motor (LOL). On top of that the lady who called me started acting impatient/irritated after I asked for a better understanding of the total cost of this potential additional charge. So long story short I will never use this company again. I don't like that they charge by the hour and not the job (its easy to say that a 30 min job can take 1.5 hours just to run up someones bill), I don't like that they had to come out 3 times and possibly more if I did not cut ties with this company. I also don't like the quality of their service, their improper diagnosis, or the fact that they could never provide a window of time for techs to come out and fix the issue for me. Literally every time a tech came to my home there was a new diagnosis. Today I called a more reputable HVAC company (AireServ with 4.9 stars on Google), and they were able to come out the same day. The new HVAC company correctly diagnosed and remediated the issue with my furnace's exhaust motor today without having to replace it for FREE. I am so glad I told Crouse Bros I am no longer interested in business with them, because who knows how long the fix yesterday would have lasted, and who knows how long it would have taken them to come out and replace an unneeded exhaust motor. I am out of $390 but it's all good because God don't like ugly, and karma is real. It's one thing to charge a customer a high price for quality service, but charging outrageous prices for sh**ty service and not taking the time to provide a proper diagnosis is just down right unethical and wrong. I could say a lot more but I wont. I'll end this review by saying that Crouse Bros should really take notes from more reputable companies such as AireServ and stop being so darn money hungry. Again, do yourself a favor and stay far away from this company they will take your money and leave you with unresolved issues!!!

The old oil furnace had given up the ghost. A conversion to propane and installation was recommended and was accomplished with a minimum of disruption. As it was an expensive item, I had multiple quotes. Theirs was straight forward -- and lowest.

The hot water heater and gas line were installed first so we would have hot water when removing the old boiler as the gas units do not have a domestic hot water system. Then the removal of the old boiler and installation of the new one was scheduled for a week had scheduled for vacation. They were supposed to start on that Monday morning but were unable to start in the morning because of employees at work that day. They did come in the afternoon and remove the old boiler which was fine. They didn't come back to do the installation until Thursday but didn't get completed on that day. They came back on Friday afternoon to finish but had to return on Saturday to complete the installation. We still have some water seepage around the hot water pipe coming out of the hot water heater that have not been resolved yet and also a water leak or seepage somewhere on the side of the heater that I haven't been able to locate as of yet. Still waiting for them to return and repair. The water seepage around the hot water pipe was not real bad and I told them they could fix this when the installed the boiler so they wouldn't have to make a special trip out to repair. The boiler was only ran long enough to make sure it lit and the circulator pump worked did not let run very long as it was 90+ degrees outside. Hopefully the boiler will work as it should when the weather turns colder.

It was one of their error and they made a mistake in the install so they came to repair it. They were an excellent company. They were responsive and everything. They had a quality efficiency that they owned up to. I did not have to fight with them. The guy who came told me that he did not know what the last guy was thinking, so he installed it right. They installed a brand new unit. It was something they left out like a drain, so when the hot weather came and we had water all over.
Description of Work: I used Crouse Brothers Air Cond & Htg to repair the unit.
