It did not go well. Clay from Bristol Plantation and his worker put garden dirt under the deck (things are now growing under there) and put the dirt in level/flat - so now water pools instead of running away from the house. The job was a complete disappointment. We paid top dollar for a cheap, shoddy job. Never again.

Initially in the beginning stages, the owner Clay came to our home for a meet and estimate (he was punctual) and appeared to be very honest and humble. We felt confident in his service and decided to go along with him. Once we gave the initial deposit, that's where problems started. The project was not continuously on task and did not start when promised. When we first met Clay it was explained to him that we needed the work complete by a certain date and can he make that happen. He said yes and gave us an exact start date that ended up being pushed out about 3 weeks. Then as work was being performed I noticed that what was being built was not consistent with the drawing we were presented with and agreed upon. The sitting wall built was much smaller than he proposed and when I brought it to his attention, he said that "oh yea it is off by1,000 ft. and it will cost me an additional $1k even though it was his mistake. Next I had asked for columns that were included in the drawing. The columns built were only 24'' high and when I brought that up, again they tried to charge me for more material until I told Clay that was not right. Another is the built in grill. It is a good thing that I was home to notice that one of the storage cabinets had not been built into it. Again Clay said "my fault, I forgot about that", and he ended up building a makeshift add on that looks horrible and is very offset and crooked (will supply photos)! Also the workmanship of the grill is aweful. He agreed and then tried to give an excuse of his staff that he just fired because they were on drugs and stole gas from him etc. I told Clay that was not my problem and am thinking wow does he just hire anyone off the street. After all is said and finally done, we started having problems with the patio having a huge carrying rust stain. I called Clay and after several messages left unreturned, he said that he would come out. He never did until I became irritated with him about the entire overall service. His lack of communication was not helping. So after coming out, he told us that he would clean it. That did not happen. He had an EP Henry rep come out and he said that the water stain was the result of our rain down spout. So Clay was unwilling to clean it and changed his promise to do so saying that he can dig a trench and it would be another $200. I told Clay that he has been in the business long enough to see potential problems and should have given us the option before he started the project. He agreed that was true and just didn’t do it. In addition to all of this, there was some tree work I wanted done in the front yard that Clay had promised to do, putting me off several times about I saying he would come the next week, and the next week, etc.. Finally he said that “I should have just been honest and said that I didn’t want to do it.” Now to the deck… shortly after the deck was installed the wrapping started to bubble and crack and peel all over. Clay had a friend of his who does contracting work for him (Curtis) build our deck. When this was brought to Clay’s attention, again he would not return our calls and I’m heated at this point. Finally they come out and say that they never seen anything like it and will call the manufacture and fix it. Well guess what….we waited patiently for about 3 weeks and decided to call Clay and Curtis because we hadn’t heard a word from them. Finally after my husband called them to express his displeasure in lack of communication, they decide to show up. I told them that I want a refund and the wrapping removed. This was about 3 weeks ago and again I haven’t heard a word. So I called Clay last week and I’m livid. He tells me that I am very rude and starts to yell at me on the phone being very unprofessional. I had to try to yell over top of him and explain to him that my anger is the result of his inefficiency, unprofessionalism, poor workmanship, intentional lack of communication, and did not surface from out of nowhere. I had been very patient and of course at this point I didn’t care about “rudeness”. I will be including photos as soon as I figure how to load them onto the site and pictures do not lie.
