Everything went EXACTLY as they said it would. The always showed up on time. They handled everything regarding the install, from design, to engineering, to permitting etc. About 20 days after the install and after all the inspections, I turned the system on and haven't looked back. It couldn't have been more seamless. All the employees, both on the phone and at my house, were very helpful and respectful. My mom also chose Solar Energy World for her house. Her experience was equally as impressive. She chose to buy her system and couldn't be happier.

I selected SolarEnergyWorld for several reasons, after meeting with two other companies. For one, I wanted to own my panels (not that the other companies didn't have this as an option). My rep -- Don Meyers -- was (in my opinion) more knowledgeable than the other reps with whom I had met. A smart friend of mine had Don as her rep, so I wanted to lean on her for advice. I also consulted with a friend of mine with a certain background and experience. My frustration with this whole process had more to do with inspectors and the electric company, not SolarEnergyWorld. Suffice it to say that one has to be vigilant and follow up to make certain that events happen on time, or at all! The real meat, in a review, is not just in the service (in my opinion) but in the outcome. I have a heat pump in this house that I bought 3+ years ago. I've gone through two severe winters with it. My winter bills exceeded $600 per month last year!!! And that's with prudent use of the thermostatic control! So I can't really review the outcome of this solar business without MORE INFORMATION, such as, my electric bills over a cycle. Having said that, I would recommend that people interested in exploring the world of solar power get knowledgeable and get at least three bids, as I did. I strongly suggest that SolarEnergyWorld be one of them! Linda

Because my spouse did not want to be a part - they wanted to meet with me only after 6 PM. Goofy.

System was installed fast. System was installed and inspected within a week. The Interconnection Certificate of Completion submitted to BGE 06/18/15. A month later I sent an email to Solar Energy World checking my status, they resubmitted the Interconnection paperwork to BGE again 07/20/15. BGE stated they only received the paperwork on 08/03/15. The meter was installed on the 08/13/15. They system works as expected producing a daily high of 72 kWh. The remote monitor works well but had a delay of 15 min to 30 min. The only issue that I had with Solar Energy World was that I wasn?t told about an inverter option for an additional outlet could be installed and used in the event of a power outage.

They are very professional and easy to work with. They are responsive. The sales associate that I work with was an engineer so he has a background on this type of projects. They sent their site engineer out fairly quickly and he was very good to work with. I have no complains; it's been generally good. Their price is competitive.

These guys were great up front but in the end their pricing was not competitive.

The folks at Solar Energy World are super helpful and friendly. It takes time from purchase date to install, but the timeline was as they promised. The sales rep, Jay Randall, was always available and straight up. You have access to everyone in the company when there are questions. We frequently talked with CEO Geoff Mirkin and he just as helpful. Even the installation team was friendly, courteous, and professional. They continue to support us and made it clear that we are partners for the next 25 years, at least. It's a nice team to be on. Thank You Solar Energy World!

Great and very professional installers. The sales rep was very responsive and answered all my questions before we signed contract. I have been looking at solar systems on and off for 10 years. Solar Energy World was one of 4 estimates we got in the 6 weeks prior to signing contract and we were very pleased with service and responsiveness before, during, and after the installation! Wish I had skipped the others and gone directly to SEW.

Solar Energy's salesman came to our house to lay out the process of installation, applying for rebates and tax credits. Days later, engineers came to look at our roof where the panels would go and assessed the amount of work needed to be done. Soon after we received a proposal with pricing and tentative dates for installation. Installation dates were pushed back a number of times do to government bureaucracy we were told. Once the work was scheduled, panel installers appeared on time, worked efficiently and cleaned up so well, I didn't know that they'd been there! A few days later the wiring and meter people came and the same was true.

Jay Randall, a rep, came to our house to talk to us after I called Solar Energy World. He was thorough, honest, and low pressure. He went over all the particulars of our roof that did not require an engineer (That is step 2.) It is amazing how much they can do with online street view and satellite view. He worked through the math to show us when the system would pay for itself. He answered all of our questions well. My wife worked as a phone rep for the local utility for years, and everything he told us meshed perfectly with her knowledge. We had done some online research as well, and everything lined up. The physics was correct too. We had talked to a rep from another company before we talked to Jay, and Jay told us some things that the other rep had omitted, especially about how much a tree would shade our roof. Jay's underlying electrical production assumptions appeared to be more realistic as well. In the end, we decided that, because we are older, there was a pretty good chance of us not recouping our investment before we sell the house. We decided not to install the panels. Based on their honesty, the fact that they did not skip any facts that might be opposed to our installing the panels, and their uniformly high ratings from customers, I would recommend Solar Energy World to anyone. An interesting note: they will provide you with an unedited list of customers, and you can call anyone you want to see how satisfied they are.

Overall it was a very good experience. It took longer for our installation because we changed our mind during the process and went from a total roof installation to partial roof and ground mount. They were very patient with us during the process and presented all of the options so that we could make a decision that would provide the best solar output. The technicians were very professional and knowledgeable. We are very happy with the final result.

Their seminar, plant tour, sales and installation were excellent. Everyone who we met was top notch. Then it all fell apart. Took 3 weeks/3 calls from us to get an inspection scheduled. Thank goodness for Summer in the office, she is professional and does her best to explain and inform. She is the perfect "face" of this company. Once our system was installed there was NO follow up. If this company instituted a follow up policy they could avoid what happened to us (not being able to get inspection scheduled) and figure out where there are weaknesses in their company and maybe most importantly, make the customer feel like they care. We paid for our system up front, and between the inspection issue and Pepco's timeline we waited 2 months to have it turned on. Solar Energy World needs to explain to customers that there could be a timeframe during which they are still paying in full for their utility and also paying for the solar system. They were great at the paperwork and the administrative stuff. We have online access to our metering info and also to the SREC system. I really liked this company and selected "recommend" because I don't believe in slamming someone for what appears to be a weakness in their process. Our system has been operational for two months (during the shortest days of the year) and has been generating power, but it's too early to assess. (Unfortunately the net meter was installed by Pepco December 11 and today is February 20 and we have not yet seen a bill. Pepco is a whole other story of probems...) I am optimistic that it will all work out. NOTE: Gross system cost was $49k less tax credits/grants of $16k equals $33k

From start to installation to present day, the company stood behind everything it initially said. It really was a flawless execution. All employees were very kind, responsive, reliable and knew what they were doing. Their estimates of when each stage would be handled was on target. We just received our first SREC check and that was very exciting. Not only are our monthly BGE bills much lower, the bonus checks coming quarterly are icing on the cake. I wholeheartedly endorse Solar Energy World and would not hesitate to recommend them to family and friends.

Solar Energy World has installed 12 panels, 3.9 kW/yr Solar System at my residence in end of May-2014. So far system work good. Solar Energy World Owner/s and Staff are very knowledgeable and experienced in what they doing. I am happy with their installation procedure from start to end.

I was given a personal reference for Solar Energy World. The salesman was professional and personable. He was willing to come to my home three times to help patiently explain what Solar Energy World offered, develop a quote, and return to answer more questions and facilitate the signing of the contract. The contract states "Contractor will begin performance approximately 60 calendar days after the execution of the Contract" with "Substantial Completion approximately 70 calendar days after the execution of the Contract." From the date of the first contract signing (3/20/14), with a contract update (5/19/14) (to add an additional panel to the ground mount), to the ground breaking date was 18 weeks (late July). Neither the sales person nor anyone from Solar Energy World initiated the work status/updates. It was me making the call/email to the salesperson or another SEW employees. Prior to breaking ground, I gave instructions about where I would need the underground wire run (from the ground mount to the side of the house). Even though I spray painted the boundaries on the grass, the site person still managed to run his markers directly through the no-dig area I delineated. That was another follow up email/calls. When ground was finally broken, progress was quick. The scheduling of the different subcontractors was efficient and SEW was around to oversee the subs. Clean up was pretty good. My husband and I are thus far satisfied with the solar power generation. The computer program that tracks the incoming power is sometimes "offline" and after 3 emails to a SEW employee, I still do not have an answer why "offline" shows up, but he assures me I am generating and receiving credit for power without interruption. A great feature about SEW is their willingness and proficiency filing all the permits and other paperwork necessary to get the system going. They were very willing to give references and the references we pretty happy with SEW and their products. I have already received my State of Maryland grant money, so SEW's follow up with the State was prompt.

Going solar can take some time. I initially leased the system (through an energy company in CA) in the fall of 2013, but after design estimates were finalized, the project was put on hold while waiting for some higher-capacity panels to arrive, that were available in limited quantities. Solar Energy World LLC finally re-designed the layout on the roof and came within 90% of their initial estimate of power provided by the solar facility. This allowed us to move into the installation phase in summer 2014, but boy was it worth the wait. The lease with Sunrun (company in CA) is 20 years. They handle insurance and maintenance on the solar facility for the duration of the term. Taking today's [BGE] rates into consideration, the facility will pay for itself in just 8 years of the 20-year lease, with another 12 years of "free" energy after that, all guaranteed and maintained by Sunrun (Solar Energy World LLC is just the installer in the arrangement). Instead of sending a check to BGE, I now send a check to the credit company who financed the project. My BGE bill since project completion: $0. It's really a no-brainer. When you initially call Solar Energy World LLC, they will do a study on your address, then come to your house and give you a presentation, including lease options, option to buy, and how much money you can expect to save over the life of the lease and/or solar panels based on their rough research. Everyone I met in the company was very helpful...you just have to remain patient. They even have a section of the company who will redo your roof if you need it, and roll the cost into your financing for the project. The only downside to the lease option is that you have to pay for it up front. I had a large system installed, so my total due at project completion is probably higher than average. Buying the system outright is not economical in any way I could tell. Make the call...listen to the presentation...and do the math yourself. Solar Energy World LLC is a reputable company that will help you realize your dreams of making this planet a better place...or at least rely a little less on the power companies.

We found Solar Energy World at the home show in our area and took a flyer advertising the solar workshop. Attending the solar workshop answered a lot of our questions, and let us see what a large system looked like installed. When we scheduled our consultation, the solar analyst came prepared with a satellite printout of our property and estimates of how much energy we could produce based on our location and how the house is situated. When we finalized the size of our system, he even calculated approximately how long it would take for our panels to pay for themselves (6.1 years). Installation was very smooth. The techs obviously love their jobs. The electricians even worked with the utility company on our behalf to get a wiring issue resolved that the utility company had done incorrectly. Overall, a great experience, and I've recommended them since to friends and coworkers.

From the start of the process through the completion of the install, SolarEnergyWorld was information, helpful and on time. They salesman answered all my questions up front and honest. The office staff was pleasant and a joy to work with. Last but not least, the installers showed up on-time and performed the job beyond what was expected. They worked right through the rain by putting up a tarp to keep the work area dry and safe. They answered all my questions along the way also. They were very knowledgeable and very pleasant. I would and will continue to recommend SolarEnergyWorld to friends and family.

Installation and communication with the company went very well. During the summer months we have noticed a reduction in energy costs. I paid upfront for the majority of the next 20 years of electric bills at current rates upfront. We will see about the costs during the colder months.

Solar Energy World's salesperson was the most accessible, knowledgeable, and accommodating out of all of the companies I contacted about installing solar panels. His attention to detail and to our many questions was exceptional. We were provided early on with a list of dozens of customer contacts, which I used to complete my research. The financing went very smooth and the paperwork, permits and regulations were all handled by Solar Energy World's office, which made the experience quite painless. The installation was quick, clean, and efficient. 2-3 days and it was done! The installers were also quite professional and courteous, answering all of our many curious questions. The office continues to answer my "new customer" questions with patience and courtesy as I settle in with the new system.

We chose the company after my nephew had used them to install a similar system and they were very pleased with the services. They were able to complete the work all in one day and they cleaned up well. They had to put in a special hot water heater and a special piping system. There are lots of incentives to where you can get back money after the installations. They are very knowledgeable about all of the incentives and helped us every step of the way. If you ever have a problem, they are very responsive. We did have one problem and they responded back to us very quickly within one day. We mostly worked with Patrick O’Brian. He made sure that everything was going exactly as it should all the way through. The work was great and they are wonderful people!

We wanted to get an early start and it coincided with a rainy season and had some rough times digging very deep large holes for support posts. Their tractor got stuck often on the hill going up to site and had to eventually use some old rugs I was taking to dump to get it up the hill. Concrete was poured and attaching hardware was set into concrete. The foreman at time seemed to be a little unexperienced in ground units and the concrete was a bit rough in some outer edges. The panel installation onto posts was a bit off alignment at first and I had to call the office and have them reset to align the 2 units of 14 panels each so they were aligned properly. They did this immediately and all was well. The yard as a mess due to weather conditions but they brought in a lot more top soil then they were planning on, I am sure, to level the ground. This was not an extra charge for all the soil. Operation of the 6.5 kw system of 28 panels had been outstanging. Bills over the summer have ranged from $6.00 to $40 depending on weather conditions. Winter a bit more up to $80-90 if our wood stove is not keeping the heat pump off. SRECS values dropped immediately as we began making them from over $300 to around $130, but it's all good and seems to more than make up for what we are paying or at least breaking even. It was a good investment. State and Fed grants and such were received just as they stated and for the amount stated. County reimbursement is lagging and we are on a waiting list for a property tax credit. A good investment for us and good for the environment as well.
