Drywall repairman was early, got right to work, and the quality was excellent. Now the wall looks like brand new construction, and the memories of water damage are rapidly fading!

Overall everything went extremely well. The very MINOR hiccups were immediately resolved. I had 2 accent walls painted one color and additional walls another color so total job was 2 color interior main level.

Quite well. The owner is a nice guy and easy to work with. The employee who performed the work did a good job and did it quickly. I'd definitely hire this company again (and I plan to as I have some inside work, including painting, that will need to be done at some point).

The painter was so good he used free hand to paint between the ceiling and wall. No need for taping. It was a three day project and he cleaned up his work space each day even though no one was living in the house at that time. Without hesitation I would use this company again.

The work team arrived on time. The work was very well done. The work team was friendly and responsive to our requests. I would certainly use S&J again.

We called S&J because there was rotting wood under our bathroom floor causing our tiles to sag. After discussing with them, we decided to expand the scope and do a full remodel at the same time, including a new tub/shower, new tile, and painting. (At no point did they try to upsell us, which we really appreciated, but rather they helped us think through doing all this at once vs putting off the rest and only doing the emergency repairs.) Their team did great work and was professional throughout the whole project, and they checked in with us regularly to make sure they were doing things the way we wanted. The quality of their work was excellent and we're quite happy with our new bathroom.

Elias did a great job. He and his coworker were punctual, professional, and completed the job in fewer days than originally expected. We have another bathroom that will need to be remodeled and will certainly call S&J again. Before the job began, Elias met with me and was very thorough with the list of things I'd need to choose ahead of time, how much, and sizes (tile, grout, door, shower head, etc). He also gave me helpful advice on tile selection. They did a nice job of only using what they needed so I could return any leftovers.

There were some issues but we were able to work things out to satisfaction for both sides. I am very happy how it turned out! We hired them two times and still will use them again next time.

We had plaster ceiling collapse in one of our rooms. I called a lot of contractors. Most didn't even want to come out. Others came out and said they didn't want to do the job. This was stressful as we could see into our attic. S&J came out and gave us a good price. They started pretty quickly. And put a new ceiling up in 1 room. They also fixed issues with plaster in other rooms. The guys were very professional and cleaned up mess that remained from the ceiling collapse (Paper insulation falling everywhere). Really can't recommend them enough.

We bought a townhouse in July. Contacted several contractors for a quote and knew estimates we were getting were ridiculous. Contacted S&J in August who provided a reasonable quote to renovate our two small bathrooms. Elias and Primo took on the job in November, completing one bathroom a week! The attention to detail and quality is obvious. The advice these guys gave us as they were doing the work and consulting with us was helpful. They even went to Home Depot with us to guide us in picking out shower/tub fixtures as well as exchanging a bathoom vanity damaged in shipping to us. With all this, care for the traipsing in and out of the house on tarps, opening and shutting the door each time...treated our home with respect all the way through. If there were 10 stars, we'd give that. Get your quotes sooner rather than later though. S&J are so good and in such demand, there's a backlog of work. It's worth the wait. ;-)

S&J Painting and Remodeling provided a free estimate; suggested vendors for purchasing supplies; provided labor to complete both bathroom renovations. The workers were pleasant, reliable and professional. We are extremely pleased with the remodeling project.

Well, he came on time and the room looks great.

Job went great. We had drywall replaced and painting done. The room had some water damage due to a leaky A/C unit above it and the room looks back to brand new after the work.

We couldn't be more pleased with S&J Painting and Remodeling. The cost was competitive, the workmanship outstanding, and the customer service impeccable. We hired S&J to prepare our condo for sale: paint (all rooms, closets, doors, and ceilings); handyman work (update light fixture, hang curtain rods, fix closet door, fix trim, etc); and a full bathroom remodel. Customer service: The team worked hard to make us feel comfortable with the process, including coming out to our place multiple times to help us come up with a materials list (including on weekends), and working hard to complete the bathroom remodel on time (we only have one bathroom and were out of town on a house hunting trip while the work was taking place). Costs: S&J's initial quote ended up being the final bill--no unexpected cost overages was a pleasant surprise for us. Workmanship: The results speak for themselves. We received multiple offers the first weekend we listed, and expect to close in a couple of weeks. If we could give S&J higher than an A, we would.

They did an excellent job! We are extremely pleased with the room they painted and will have them back to do the rest f the house.

A great experience from start to finish. Stacy was responsive and followed up with calls and email in scheduling the initial estimate. Steve came to the house and was professional & friendly, extremely thorough with questions and answers as we discussed the scope of the project. They provided a detailed, competitive bid within the week. On-site experience was also seamless and professional. Elias showed up on time every day, he did great work; kept the work site clean and took time each day to review progress and next steps. Our bathroom was beautifully transformed. This company was an absolute pleasure to work with! They finished on time as scheduled with no cost overruns. I will definitely use them again. Thank you!!!

Everything went smoothly. Jerry came out as soon as I called and gave me an estimate within just a few minutes. The next day I had the contract. The workers were skilled, professional, and friendly. The work was done on time and looked great.

S & J Painting and Remodeling came highly recommended from the Facebook group The Best of Howard County. I was also pleased at the testimonials I read online about them. I had Jerry come out for two separate estimates and was very pleased with his professionalism, confidence, and friendliness. His prices also beat several other companies we had out for the same work. We hired S & J for some drywall work (patching tape seams, holes, etc.) back in the beginning of July. Both Jerry and myself were aware that there was wallpaper underneath the paint, however Jerry was confident that his drywaller could just patch the areas without having to remove all wallpaper. He gave us an estimate for 2 days worth of work. When the drywaller came out on Monday 7/24/17, he said he would have to remove some of the wallpaper and do some other necessary work to prepare the walls. He estimated that it would take at least 4 days. I understand that estimates are just that, estimates, and should be somewhat flexible, however we were unprepared to pay twice the amount and have it take twice as long. Jerry was very accommodating regarding his misjudgement and gave us a discount on the two additional days of work. The walls looked great at this point (after the work was completed). I started to paint our foyer area (where the bulk of the drywall work was done) on Thursday 8/17/17 and noticed tons of pinholes appearing in the drywall. Some were evident before painting, however more kept appearing as I was painting. I immediately called Jerry back to see if this was normal. He told me some pinholes were normal due to moisture. I told him that this was not just a few holes, but thousands! He told me to spackle the walls, however he agreed to send someone out to look at them when I explained that a simple spackling for thousands of holes was pretty ridiculous. He also tried to tell me that the holes came from having wallpaper, however we also have holes in the ceiling (where more patches were performed by his company), and there is clearly no wallpaper on the ceilings. He repeatedly told me that the drywall guy he sent out was the best in the company with 20 plus years of experience. This was not helpful or necessary, as it made me feel like my concerns were not valid. He advised me to finish painting the foyer (we have a split foyer, so it is very tall) with one coat of paint. He proceeded to leave me two voicemails after our phone conversation, also advising me to continue to finish the one coat of paint. I rushed to get the one coat of paint done before his second drywall guy came out on Friday morning 8/18/17 to see the holes. The second drywall guy said it was a ton more holes than is normal, and when I pressed him as to why this had happened, he admitted that the compound(?) that was mixed, was not mixed properly and had too much water in it. He skim coated a lot of the holes that morning and the following day. He also patched some small holes that the first guy missed, which I didn’t even point out. He said I just need to put another first coat of paint on the places he skim coated; just touch it up. My husband asked if they could at least give us a painter for the day to repaint it for us, as “just touching it up” was impossible due to the magnitude of areas that needed to be repainted.The skim coated sections of the wall covered at least 80% of the wall, so at that point, the whole wall needed to be repainted. Also, not to mention the hours it took me to paint the high foyer walls on an 18’ ladder and the cost of two gallons of paint wasted. The second drywall guy spoke to Jerry and called me back on Monday 8/21/17, saying that if we wanted someone to repaint the walls for us (and not fully repaint, just spot roll), it would be $200 extra. I was appalled, as this work should be done for free since it could have all been prevented in the first place if (1) the drywall work was done properly, and (2) if I was not advised to paint a coat on the walls before skim coating. Not to mention the extreme inconvenience of having the work redone with drywall dust everywhere, and with a small toddler in the house. They told me at this point that painting was not their responsibility and they did not owe us anything to make up for the lost time and paint costs. When I said that I refused to pay this company any more money to fix something that was their fault, I was told that they could waive the $200. This fee should have been nonexistent in the first place! They scheduled to come out a week later, on Saturday 8/26/17 to “spot roll” the skim coated areas. I am a teacher and was hoping to have this work (and the house painted) by the end of the summer so I wouldn’t have to worry about any of it during the school year. Unfortunately, an originally estimated two day job turned into a two month nightmare. I would not recommend this company to anyone.

The workmanship was professionally done, and the crew was courteous. The work was done in a timely manner, and they went out of their way to make sure we were inconvenienced as little as possible. We would hire S&J again for future projects.

Jerry and his employees were wonderful! They were so careful with our personal belongings, and had such an eye for detail in their work. We were impressed with their pricing, and the job was done on time. We will definitely hire them again.!
