They repainted the entire dining room area. I had to do a lot of work in terms of making sure the paint was fully covered. The missed a lot of spots. I would tell other Angie’s List members to be home and to watch towards the end of the last coat. They should spend their time looking closely because they had to do the entire room after they thought they were done. They send had two person of the time and one sometime.

Very well! However, I wish I would have realized I should have removed the plates around the light sockets because he painted them, and not very well. That wasn't a problem because I replaced them anyways. My only real complaint is that he painted the bedroom and bathroom door when I specifically told him not to. I think this had to do with the language barrier. He did excellent work, but they should at least have someone to translate what they want specifically done.

S and J is the perfect remodeling company for those who know what they want style-wise, but don't want to do the demolition and install work on their own. We decided to work with them so that we could select the exact products we wanted without being limited to a typical remodeling company's showroom product range. They are great about helping you decide what types of products to purchase and letting you know if something won't fit your project. Stacy was great to communicate with, Jerry came over and took measurements for a free estimate. Steve was the project lead, he answered all of our questions very quickly and gave great feedback on the types of products we needed. He and his team, Jose and Jose, arrived on time each day and got the work done very quickly. They did in 2 weeks what would have taken us a year to complete on our own. They did great work, especially considering that we live in a very geometrically-challenged old house. I would definitely recommend them, wonderful to work with!

We scheduled two men for two days, but the team failed to arrive on Day 1 because of van trouble. My wife asked to reschedule for another two-day slot, but Jerry insisted that his team could complete the whole job on Day 2 just by working a few more hours. We caved because his next available two-day slot was several weeks away. Big mistake. The crew was very polite and worked hard all day, but they were sloppy because of the rush, and since they finished in the evening we couldn?t see the poor quality of their work until the sun came up the next morning. I've included some pictures to show just a few of the many, many drips they left behind and some of the surfaces they missed entirely. Particularly galling to me is that they painted our stair risers without cleaning them first, even though there were several obvious smudges on the risers. (See pic.) Now we either have to sand off the new coat of paint so we can clean the smudges, or we have to add more coats of paint thick enough to hide the smudges. In short, we?re going to have repaint a great many of the surfaces we paid Jerry?s crew to paint. Adding insult to injury, today we opened a leftover can of paint so we could repaint the stair rail banister. Sealed inside, floating in the paint, were two old sponge rollers that Jerry?s had crew left behind.

First of all, the bathroom is beautiful; I smile every time I go in. I had consulted with a couple of other contractors prior to discovering S&J. None of them inspired confidence and I was about to give up. From the moment that Jerry Dix arrived to evaluate the job, I knew that I had found someone who could more than take care of my project. Once a date was established, Jonathan and Julio arrived at the agreed upon time and worked diligently for four days to complete the job. I loved their work ethic and was amazed at their range of skills. I also loved their attention to detail and their desire to do whatever it took to make me happy. Everything was easy and professional--- from the project evaluation with Jerry, to the scheduling and communication with Stacey Dix, to the day to day communication with Jonathan and Julio. Finally, when I first contacted S&J, I didn't dare to think that my bathroom would be finished before the Holidays, but lo and behold, it was completed before Thanksgiving. Kudos to this entire group!!! They can work in my home anytime, and I will be using their services again.

Can't say enough!! First meeting with Jerry, the owner, put me at ease that the project could be done for everything I wanted to do.His staff is knowlegeable, professional, efficient and courteous. Jonathan, the project manager, always answered my questions, was readily available, suggested ideas to add "just the right finishing touch", which I really appreciated. During the project, I decided to replace the floors. They accommodated their schedule to do the work and the floors are beautiful. Julio and Eddie did an excellent job in their carpentry work. Very detailed. The reconstructed closet Eddie completed matches the interior of the room and you would never know it wasn't originally there; especially tricky since it is connected to a window seat. The guys always cleaned up, inside and out, were courteous, on time and happy! All in all, the price was right, work is beautiful, and am planning to have them redo the kitchen in the future. If I have forgotten some one, I thank you, too. Stacey, Jerrys wife, thank you for responding to my emails in a timely matter. Great company and very impressed!

They did an awesome job and completed the job in three days. The two workers were friendly, professional and answered all my questions and I had many questions. The owner, Jerry is professional and easy to work with...no gimmicks. I had to rescheduled a couple of times due to family emergencies and they were patient and worked with me. I wouldn't think twice about hiring them again.

First day 5 guys showed up and broke a 500.00 window.? Next day 2 guys showed up and washed their paint brushes in my kitchen sink (after I had already showed them where the utility sink was).? Foreman went on vacation and after that only one guy showed up so the job took way too long to complete (7 working days).? We asked that they not touch the windows again (putting screens back etc.)? they put them all back and now the screens are stuck to the windows because they did not let the paint dry.? You get the idea.? Here it is September and I am still finding pieces of trim and ceiling that have been primed but NOT painted.? Still cleaning paint off my hardwood floors and NEW kitchen floor.? Sent an email to the owner, they paid for the broken window.? To his credit, he did offer to come and "fix" the other issues.? We did not want that group back in our house.? Very unfortunate, we have used them for other smaller jobs and have been satisfied.? Cannot recommend them.

I don't think I can overstate how highly we think of the S & J Painting & Remodeling team! Steve Brownley was the specific contractor on our job and he was a pleasure to work with along with his team, Jose, Jose and Julio. Utterly reliable, creative and trustworthy they more than delivered on everything that S & J had committed to do. They were always on time, there were no surprises, and they were so helpful when it came to problem solving for how best to create a kitchen counter bar when previously the island was all one level. His team were a delight to have in our home, always with great, cheerful and totally helpful attitudes. And as the project progressed they paid attention to detail - noticing the sag in the kitchen floor and advising we look into that before putting on the very heavy granite countertops. We are BEYOND grateful for that wise suggestion. Because once they opened up the floor we found substantial termite damage and rot that would have led to a total kitchen collapse if it had gone untreated. S & J adapted their schedule to create additional time to rebuild the floor from the guts up. Instead of telling us they were unavailable, they simply adapted with gracious flexibility to work us into their very busy schedule so that we could have a solid and healthy floor before they completed the rest of the remodel. From top to bottom the kitchen is a dream. Precisely what we'd hoped for. They realized every item they'd committed to and were very careful to do finishing touch ups down to the smallest details of paint and electric outlet covers. They clearly take a great deal of pride in their work and it was an absolute pleasure to do business with them. We were looking for a contractor who was easy to work with as this was our first home remodeling project and who would advise us, be creative, introduce us to reliable vendors, be open to taking on a project with a relatively modest budget, and still do a thorough job. We could not be more pleased! They responded promptly to all emails, calls, texts and followed through on everything they set out to do at a very reasonable cost. We will 100% be going back to Steve at S & J Painting and Remodeling for all future projects we have planned for our house. You cannot go wrong with this team! They did a beautiful job. The room looks like a room in a brand new house, as does the stairwell. Marvin and Victor were a joy to work with, incredibly helpful. They kept us informed throughout the process. The quality of their work is outstanding. They did a great job with clean up. Can't say enough about the quality of their work. The room and hallway look absolutely amazing. The detailed work on the windows is exquisite.

We've used the services of S&J Painting before so it made sense to hire them again. Since the work needed to be done in a short time and over a holiday week, I called the owner to check availability of his crew and to get a ballpark estimate of the cost. He called me back promptly, then arranged to meet me at the townhouse for a walk-through. We conferred on the number of rooms to be painted and when the work could start. When told it needed to be finished by July 10 so the house could go on the market, he agreed to furnish enough people to do the work. His team started July 3 and finished on the 10th. During the week that the team was on site, they were professional and courteous to me and to the other contractors working on different projects. I was very impressed with Nahum (the project lead) because he was aware of the schedule and everything that needed to be done. I went to the property on Saturday to look over the quality of the work done. I noticed a few items that needed to be fixed and called the owner. He responded promptly and came to the house to inspect it. He promised Nahum would come back on Monday to fix the noted problems, which is exactly what happened. A week later, my husband spotted a few problems with the completed paint job but nothing that required another visit from Nahum or from the owner. Once again, I was very satisfied with S&J Painting and would recommend them to others.

I had two rooms of ceiling damage, one from a leaky roof and the other was from leaky plumbing. In room there was significant damage and there was also the issue of trying to match the paint so that the entire room would not need to be repainted. The painters went out of their way to find the right paint and provided expert, high quality service.They showed up on time, kept me informed and completed the work on schedule at the cost estimated. I would use them again.

Jerry came by to evaluate the existing bathroom and advised me that he would provide a day labor rate because the job was fairly small. Stacey followed up with a written quote via email which I signed an mailed back with a deposit. The job was scheduled and on the appointed date, Jonathan and Julio showed up to get started. They worked diligently and were professional and friendly. There was a cost overrun due to unforeseen hurdles (not S&J's fault). Jonathan advised me of this at the earliest possible time in the job. In the end, the quality of their work was excellent. I was pleased enough with their work that before they left, I asked them about a small painting job on some decorative shutters on the front of my house. They provided a quote and I made the arrangements to have them do the work. That has now been completed and again they did a great job. I am already contacting them again about another job at my house.

The project went very smoothly. Painters were punctual and professional and left everything clean afterwards.

We were very pleased with the painting job. We contacted several companies and their price was considerably lower. They did everything on time and within budget. We asked to paint addition rooms since we were so satisfied. We would happily use them again.

It was terrible! They came out and gave us an verbal estimate with the promise of a written estimate, they never got back with us. I reached out to them via angles list messages, and Stacy and I had a conversation 7/15/14 until April 13, 2015. Apparently they lost my paperwork, I sent me phone number via the message but nothing! Totally unacceptable! We went with another company and spent well over 50k, they lost my business because they were unprofessional!

The work completed is perfect. You can't tell were the drywall was repaired and painted. Very nice workers. They took care of my house and did a great job of cleaning up.

S & J removed wallpaper that we hung 23 years ago. It was a difficult, messy job, but they did excellent work. The drywall repair and finishing after the wallpaper was soaked and scraped off was excellent, and they left the surface nice and smooth for painting, just like we asked.

It went pretty well. They worked at a moderate pace. Overall they were alright. They were nice.

I was quite happy with the flexibility that Jerry showed with scheduling the walk-through. I am happy with the overall results as well.

Overall it went well. It did take an extra day more than was quoted so it went over the quote by about $175. But, the ceilings look really great. You can't see where the cracks were.

After research many companies to renovate my basement, I contacted S & J. The owner came out to my house and spent a lot of time with me and my husband and gave us great suggestions. The owner definitely is willing to work with our budget and gave us several ways to save money. When we are ready to begin this project, we will certainly be calling S & J.

I purchased an Angie's List deal and had this company paint my living room/dining room walls & ceiling, plus the trim. They were punctual, professional, and got the job done! The room looks wonderful!

They did a great job. They were really nice and we actually hired them for another day.
