The county shut off the water and they responded within 40 minutes of our call to them. It was a Sunday and they started the work Monday morning. They did a great job.

Description of Work: I had an outside drain stopped up with leaves, and water was coming into the basement. I made an appointment easily with Roto Rooter and they came within a day or two. They did the job very well. I have two issues with them, though -- one was the cost -- I had a $79 deal for $250 worth of work. It ended up costing another $200 or so, which seems quite high (although I know plumbers are expensive) -- he was only here about 45 min. The other thing was that I didn't answer the phone when they called in the morning and they cancelled the appointment. I wasn't at home at the time, but called them when I got home (well before the appointment time). They told me they'd have to come later in the day -- so that was kind of annoying. Overall, though, they did a good job.

Description of Work: They snaked the entire house. In the beginning there was a bit of confusion because I live in Virginia and placed the order for service at my Mother's address in Maryland. There was a problem finding the order but in the end all was well and I was pleased with the service. I'm glad that I purchased the special from Angie's list, I actually paid 230.00 for 500.00 in work.

Description of Work: Wonderful to have discounted plumbing service. The first guy took care of 2 unrelated issues. And 2 more guys came back when I had a problem in the area where the 1st one worked. It turned out that the new problem was not their fault, but they fixed it anyway at no additional charge. |That was very impressive!!

Description of Work: The man used an electric powered snake to clear a hair clog in a tub which had NEVER occurred in the past 68 years. This service was valued at $400. After the repair, the workman found fault with the cylinder, and he agreed to fix it for free. Nice, huh? But when he returned with the part, he brought the lever, not the cylinder, and installed that, (at no charge). It made me wonder if there ever was a clog in my drain?? The tub works. I think I'll go with a local, small-time plumber next time.

Description of Work: I had a backed-up utility sink and purchased the 79 coupon for 250 in plumbing services. Roto-Rooter sent a plumber out that night. He did some poking about and determined that the problem was in my sewer line on the City side of the property boundary. He called the City and reported it for me and they sent out a truck within two hours. Cost to me: 0 over the cost of the coupon so I now have a nice credit to use if I need to. Very honest and professional; I am very pleased.

Description of Work: The plumber arrived and asked me if i needed to have him proceed to do the work. I had puchased a coupon towards the service. I thought that would be he price. However-i had to pay an additional 150 because that was the fee for the service. I was surprised and disappointed that it was so expensive to clean out a drain. The cost to me was prohibitive.
