Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Water Cleanup

They were on time. They explained the cost and did the repair as needed.

Went fine. Plumber was professional and quick.

They called in the morning to confirm (there had been snow the previous day, so that was appreciated.) They gave us an estimate of when the plumber would show up. He was a few minutes late but he worked quickly when he got here and fixed the issue quickly.

It was okay but it didn't work. I don't know what happened but we have to get somebody else to come out. I wasn't home but my niece was. I had a sink clogged and the garbage disposal wasn't working right. They had it working for like a day or two then it didn't wok again. I don't know what it could have been as it was a new garbage disposal. My niece had called and said it was going to be more money and I said no that it was only $79.00 and not to give him more money.

I recently noticed backup of sewage and water from the main sewer drain line in my basement. I tried to fix it myself a couple of months ago and it was sort of fixed itself, but the problem came back in the last few days. I called Roto-Rooter and then promptly gave me an appointment window from 12 PM to 4 PM. Roto-Rooter called on the day on my appointment and confirmed twice that I would be home during that time. The technician knocked on my door promptly at 3:15 PM and assessed the problem. He informed me of the prices to get the job done, and what the possibilities would be if he was unable to effectively clear the drain. He tried his best to clear the drain, and he had success. He tried his best to clean the area where he was working. He cleaned it much better than I expected actually. Upon pulling the root of of the drain line, it made a big splash of sewage in his work area. I was definitely pleased with his workmanship and professionalism and I would use them again.

See above. $259 for 10 minutes work is ludicrous. This company has no integrity. They took advantage of my desperation (laundry piling up, young woman, and hand injury that precluded me from doing this job myself). I feel taken advantage of and will never use RotoRooter again.

The guy came out, then he left and said that, "This is what needs to be done" but he couldn't fix. He came back the second time and it was still dripping. The third guy came, fixed it and everything appears to be working fine. It took three tries to get the issue fixed. I didn't pay more than the Big Deal price. The price was good.

Technician was very good. Cleared drain. Replaced plumbing that was not done well by others. Very punctual. Price is high, but they were available 24/7 and prompt. Came within hours of my call.

Everything went great. They were very punctual and professional. I would use this provider again in the future.

The Roto Rooter repairman climbed up into the ceiling of the utility room, removed a large section of the major drain pipe which had burst open. The "deal" was for two hours work, but the job took a little longer - and he needed to go back to his supply shop for the part, returned and completed the job. I was worried what the run over in time would cost, but he discounted the time to get the replacement pipe, and honored the "deal." That was impressive and, being on a tight budget, greatly appreciated!

I was not happy. He was here less than an hour. I felt that the person that came to my house was a truck driver with plumbing tools. My clean out valve is covered in asphalt in my driveway and I wanted them to fix that and he said he couldn't do that. So then I showed him the problem I had in my basement that some pipes were clogged and then I showed him in my upstairs bathroom another similar problem. In conversation with him the first thing he wanted to do was charge me $250.00 cash in addition to him bringing in some tools a large snake. My response was I am paying for your time and that meant your tools also and I am not going to pay you extra for this. He was upstairs in my master bathroom and the drain had been clogged for years and what he had done was cut the pipe. He didn't take the pipe off he cut it and just before I saw that I had said something about the downstairs to clean the pipe out and he said we will just cut it open. I got him out of here as fast as I could. When he left I went into my master bath and pipe had been cut instead of taking out so I removed it from the sink. But then the one going to the wall the pipe itself was so flimsy I was startled. When I tried to remove it it crumbled at the wall meaning it was so old it shouldn't have even been messed with. I had to call another plumber to come and do the work.

chris is an amazing employee he is a truly kind heart very knowledgeable person he explained every detail and made sure the job was complete and done right. we have had chris here before and plan on using him in the near future

I specifically told the technicians what I felt the problem was, based on having the exact same problems as when I purchased the house new. My upstairs bathroom tub was leaking and the water coming through the dining room ceiling beneath. I told them that the drain most likely needed to be tightened. I based this on the fact that my son took a bath and when we drained the water, the tub leaked. The EXACT thing happened in both bathrooms when I purchased, and at that time, the builder's plumber returned and said the drains needed to be tightened and plumber's putty to seal. Both of the Roto Rooter techs insisted that the tub needed to be caulked around the top; although no one had taken a shower, that there had to be a secondary leak, and they would need to cut into the dining room ceiling to find out why the tub leaked even with the drain stoppered. Finally after dismissing 2 different technicians, and never getting the return visit I was promised by a master technician, I went to Home Depot, purchased the drain tightening tool and Plumber's Putty, and $15 and 24 hours later, I fixed the drain on my own. Needless to say I want my money back because this company was totally useless to me.

It turned out OK but when he came he wanted to charge more money than the coupon. My Husband called the front office and when he called the office he was able to get the service completed for the coupon amount. Scheduling was fine with them.

The plumber let us know that we only had to reset our hot water heater after the propane tank was refilled instead of a full replacement. The faucets that were leaking hadn't been used in awhile. He was able to get them to stop leaking. He was also able to give us some great advice on how to keep this from happening in the future. The plumber was actually the one who pointed us to the deal on Angie's List when we first called him for help. He is prompt, informative, and very professional. You feel as if this provider has a great sense of integrity and keeps the customer in mind. There was no upselling at our appointment either, something you usually find with other providers. I would use him again and highly recommend him to other members.

It was very good. We were happy with the service. I think I only paid about $25 more than the big deal price. I was happy with the price. They were right on the money with responsiveness.

Technician was prompt and very professional. He let me know what he was doing and why. RotoRooter is substantially more expensive (3x) than other other local services but can come same day. This is our 4th time with RotoRooter over a 20 year period and have complete confidence in their service.

Benjamin Demaline, manager, sent me an email providing arrival time of technician. Technician arrived on time, Rand was very professional, and pleasant. Rand cleaned up after he completed the job. He tested to make sure the drain ran without problems and the pipes were not leaking. I was very impressed and highly recommend Roto-Rooter.

That was fine. It was a good deal for what I needed done. They are normally just more expensive. That is why I did the deal. They are on time. When they say they are going to be there, they are there.

I was very pleased with them. They did not charge extra. I thought it was very efficient. It turned out nice. He showed up when he said he would and did the service that he promised.

The service was expensive. I guess they applied the $79 Big Deal to the cost of the service, but it went up being over $400. They were nice. They showed up on time. They assessed the situation and gave us an estimate of what it would cost. It was a little more evolved than I thought it was going to be and they did the work the same day. They were very responsive. I suppose I would use them again in the future if needed.

Everything went fine. The good thing is they were able to come out right away.

I actually purchased the deal in the hopes that RR could fix my undermount sink which had detached from the granite countertop. That appt was scheduled quickly but when the plumber came out, he quoted me $1600 to reglue it which seemed very, very high so I declined the service. One good thing about Roto-Rooter is they provide a free estimate. Many other plumbers do not do that. You pay for a service call even if you decide not to have the service done. That said, their estimates do seem to be on the high side. Later, I called again to have my faucet repaired or replaced. The appt was scheduled very quickly via Angie's list. I reaqlly appreciated their quick response. The plumber was schedule to come between 9-11am. I received a call at 9:45 from dispatch letting me know that the plumber would be at my house in 30 minutes or less. At 10:30 they called back to say that the plumber had a flat tire and another plumber would be heading my way as soon as he came on duty at 11am. That plumber arrived at about 11:15. He didn't really give me any feedback on the possibility of repairing the faucet (it was functional but the handle had become twisted) but did give me a quote of $319 for replacing the faucet by referring to a sheet of standard prices and an estimate of 1 hour to complete the work. I had purchased a new faucet in case that happened so I agreed to the work. The plumber was friendly and very pleasant and worked quickly. At one point, it looked like a an extension would be necessary to connect the faucet to the water lines and fortunately, he had one on the truck. It was unclear what would have happened if it had not been. He suggested he could go get the part at Home Depot if he didn't have it but I don't know what that would have cost in terms of time and a return visit. I was willing to buy it myself and finish the job but did wonder if I would get a discount. Fortunately, it wasn't an issue. With parts the total was about $335. I applied my Angie's list purchase of $250 and paid the difference. I would consider using Roto-Rooter again because the dispatcher and plumber were both very professional. However, that comes at a cost. Overall, I was very pleased with the job they did.

They wanted $850.00 to replace the main shutoff valve, the part cost roughly $20.00 at Home Depot. WOW what a ripoff is there coupon, and Angie's List wont give me a refund.
