I liked the guy who came; he seemed upfront and honest. He was very professional. It took him awhile to get me the quotes, but he took a lot of measurements and made sure that all of the materials were correct. It was really detailed and he had everything down to the nails he would use so the quotes were as correct as possible. I chose them because they had a lot of customer responses and most of them were favorable.

Bill was very helpful from the start. He inspected the damage and I felt comfortable that he understood the scope and would work to resolve the problem. His crew showed up on time and was extremely professional. They worked diligently and cleaned up after each day or work. The bay window turned out great. Bill even made a suggestion to include a clear center picture window vice a standard gridded double hung. The window looks beautiful. I will definitely hire this group again. Great experience.

I met with Bobby from Horizons to go over the project and obtain a quote. Horizons was extremely professional from start to finish. I had a competing bid and they agreed to match it. Overall, in the end I chose to go with the competing bid but it was a difficult choice. Although I do not know the quality of their work, I was always able to get a response to my questions and the quote was extemely detailed and professional. I would recommend them.

They were very good. They came in and got the job done. They did it professionally, addressed problems and kept me informed as they did their work. They were good.

They said they would come that day and they actually did. They were very nice and they did their job. It seemed like a lot of money but we needed to get it done because we had water leaking in our house. They were the only ones that removed snow from roofs. I just don?t have anything to compare it with.

We would never use or recommend this contractor!!!!!!!! The contractor made multiple mistakes on this job, and we requested a refund for extra materials (tiles) we had to buy due to THEIR MISTAKES, and they still have not returned our call. The person who laid the tile did a horrendous job and LIED about it when we complained! We bought the tile, and when the store loaded it into the cart, they did not ensure that the tiles were from the same batch. When the tile was laid, the last box of tile he used was the box that was slightly off in size and color. My husband and I were both home that day in case of any issues. He continued to lay the bad tile knowing it was off, and did not say anything UNTIL THE JOB WAS COMPLETE!! When they left the house that day, he knocked on the door and just said ?one box of tile was slightly off, well you will see when you look at it? and then just left. Since we couldn?t walk on the tile, we didn?t realize how BAD it looked down there. He came and grouted two days later. When we could finally walk on it, we realized how off these tiles were. All of the lines in the tile were completely off, the lines between the tiles were not equally spaced, and tiles were twisted. Worst part is that the superintendant came to look at the work while he was grouting, and no one said anything to me or my husband about how off it was. Upon further inspection, we realized that he also did not cut the tile to b*** up against the door casings, resulting in a two-inch gap. Around the staircase, it was the same thing - and of course, these areas could not be covered up by quarter round. We were extremely upset and called the sales manager and told him the problem. He was very responsive. They came to look at the work the next morning and agreed it was off. When asked about the issue by the sales manager, the person who laid the tile lied and told him that he had told us that the tile was off after laying 3 or 4 of them, but we told him to just continue laying it ? which is completely UNTRUE! That is the precise reason we were home that day ? in case any issues came up, we could run to the store and get supplies, etc. To remedy the issues, they instructed the tile layer to rip up half of the tile and redo it. My husband and I had to run to Lowes twice while they were doing this to buy new tile for them and both of us had to take the day off of work because of this. Lowes gave us one box free, since initially they didn?t check it, but we had to pay for the extra two boxes since it was Horizon?s fault that they kept laying it without saying anything to us. After fixing the tile, they put the quarter round in. As the grout dried, we realized that he must have not mixed it the same as the first time, because the color of the grout is different, and you can tell where they ripped up and replaced the tile because the grout is darker. The tile itself looked better, but the grout and quarter round looked AWFUL. The quarter round they used did not match the rest of the quarter round in the house ? it was humungous - and they never cut the edges at a slant. So it was this HUGE quarter round just sticking out at the ends ? it looked awful. When the hardwood guy, came back to complete his portion of the work, my husband refused to pay the rest of the bill until the quarter round was fixed. In order to get their money that day, he fixed it. At this point, they insisted that we pay them the full amount - even though the contract allows 5 days to pay- so my husband did. He called the sales manager immediately since we were out money for the extra tile. He left a message asking him to call us back because we would like a refund for the extra tile we had to buy (60 dollars). We never heard from them again and our checks were cashed immediately. The only good part of this whole experience was the person who installed the new treads and risers and who fixed the hardwood floors. The steps look great and he did it very quickly. We had a VERY bad job on the installation of the hardwood floors by another contractor, and he fixed our entryway. Unfortunately, he was the only good thing about this company. I would certainly never recommend using this contractor. We are very unsatisfied with the whole experience.

They were very efficient. The guy was a contract and budget manager. He was really intensive. The job required removing a half of the fireplace and putting in a new one at a lower level. He came in to look at the job that needed to be done. He went above and beyond what was required. He gave me a quote. It seemed expensive. It was out of my budget so I ended up doing the project myself. However, I would recommend them.

The experience was pleasant. They were responsive and they gave me a reasonable price. They completed the job ahead of schedule with very little fuss and muss.

People performing the work were capable and knowledgeable.

They were very nice. They stayed on budget, and my wife liked them very much, and that was important. The preparation of the painting was not first class, but we did not pay for first class. I would definitely use them again. I was completely satisfied with the finished product, and felt that they did a good job for the price.

I contacted Horizons and Bill Gmeinwieser came to the house within a day to survey the project and prepare a quote. When he called back later the same day with the quote, I told him that I had also meant to ask him for a quote to replace the wood trim around the garage door. He told me he'd arrive with the work crew and provide a quote for that work then. A 2-man crew arrived on time to repair the portico. I asked them about the garage but they told me they had nothing to do with quotes, and that I should contact Bill. They did walk over to the garage and pull a piece of the wood off. That did not make me happy. The repair to the portico took most of the day, including what seemed to be a rather long absence mid-day. In the men's defense, it was a cold, drizzly day. At the end of the day, the one workman informed me that the flashing could not be installed when the brick is wet and that they would be back another day to finish the job. I had my doubts, but the men returned within a couple days. Since it had just stopped raining, I was a bit doubtful that it was the best time to put on the flashing. I was assured it was fine and they quickly finished the job. My one big disappointment with the work is partly my fault. When Bill told me what type of columns he would be using I didn't quite understand him other than his point that this was the best type to use. They are PVC. The portico is wood, the steps are brick and the railing is wrought iron. Adding shiny PVC to the mix would not have been my first choice. It has been a year and the portico is solid. Bill never showed up as promised when the work was being done to provide a quote on the garage trim.

The work was thoroughly and professionally done. The work was not begun until the cabinets had arrived. The schedule was well managed so that the work was finished within a few weeks, including granite countertops in the kitchen and Formica countertops in the workshop, as well as some electrical, plumbing and painting. In the kitchen, the work included a partial redesign of the layout of the cabinets. Since completion there have been a need for a few adjustments in the cabinets. These were completed quickly and efficiently. Their response is very good.

After a week a waiting for the estimate, I left a voice mail and an email, and never received a call back. Then I finally received an email requesting to schedule and estimate. Not well.

Went great - they showed up on time, with the proper tools and enough men to do the work. Completed on time for the estimated price. This is the second time we have used these guys and both experiences were completely satisfactory.

They showed up when they said they would to give us an estimate and to do the work. They knew what they were doing. They got the job done in less than one day and honored their estimate. We were very satisfied.

THIS COMPANY WAS GREAT, THE MAN DID A GOOD JOB. HE WORKED ON IT FOR ABOUT THREE MONTHS, SO I WAS SATISFIED. THE ESTIMATE AND THE TIME FRAME STAYED THE SAME.

The workers were very professional and courteous. They came when the weather permitted and left the job site neat. The owner made changes I asked for as work progressed.

THE CALL FOR AN ESTIMATE WAS HANDLED QUICKLY, AND AN ON-SITE ESTIMATE PREPARED WITHIN DAYS OF MY FIRST CALL. WORKERS CAME ON TIME, CLEANED UP AFTERWARD, AND JOB WAS DONE PROFESSIONALLY.
