Description of Work: New roof. On time for all scheduled appointments and on the day of the work. Excellent work. Excellent price. When they were done, they cleaned up so well you would never know they had been there except for the new roof! Very, very satisfied.

Description of Work: They built a porch and deck for us. They used the easy breeze screens. They did a lot of custom work for us as well. They did everything very well. They were extremely professional. They really do quality work.

Description of Work: Replaced three storm doors, replaced the back kitchen door (special order), installed a hurricane door, replaced a balcony rail. The storm doors are terrific, as are the hurricane door and the balcony rail. The back storm door does not close completely. It did immediately after installment, but now it takes a while to close completely. That is the only deficiency. We are pleased with the rest of the work.

Description of Work: They replaced and painted siding and flashing on three sides of one wing, repaired some decking, replaced several doors, and did some minor outdoor and indoor repairs. The crew was outstanding to work with. They showed up on time, did high quality work, were responsive and friendly, and were easy to get in touch with. The price was reasonable for the amount of work involved. We highly recommend them.

Description of Work: Horizon finished my basement and it looks great. Bill was very friendly as was most of his staff. I would be cautious of the sub-contractors he uses as they cut every corner they could and took every opportunity to charge extra. |

Description of Work: Horizons Unlimited saved my kitchen. Another contractor remodeled my kitchen and left me with a mess. I asked three contractors for help. One said the fix would be too expensive to be worth it. A second told me he would have to charge by the hour with no definite upper limit since he wouldn't know the extent of the problems until he took things apart. A third offered to give an estimate. She would not guarantee that anything they removed would be undamaged and suggested tearing out everything and starting over. I never heard from her. |Bill Gmeinwieser, the owner of Horizons Unlimited, looked at the kitchen, sympathized with me about the outcome, and proceeded to list the problems and offer solutions. He offered options that would reduce costs and was confident that the work could be done in a reasonable time without damage to the new cabinets and floor. |The problems were serious and numerous. The previous contractor had done electrical work without a license or a permit. The cabinets had to be removed and wallboard taken down to assess what he had done. There were many violations of county code. Bill's electrician corrected them all. |Plumbing was also done without a permit. Again there were many violations. Bill brought in a plumber who reworked the connections to comply with code. |Three of the cabinets had to be replaced because of improper fit. Bill offered to work with the original cabinet maker to make cabinets that would fit and drove to Western Maryland to pick them up. Cabinets were out of level because the bulkhead installed by the previous contractor was not level. Bill's crew installed a new bulkhead, set the cabinets properly and reinstalled the microwave at a more reasonable height (The floor of the microwave was originally above my eye level). |Corrections were made to the installation of the oven and the dishwasher so they would work properly. Because the original measurements for the dishwasher were incorrect, the original contractor cut away a portion of the wall and nailed a piece of wood to cover the raw edges. Bill and his crew tried hard to find a way to fix it without removing the entire wall, but the best they could do was to trim it neatly. |New wallboard was hung and the entire kitchen was repainted. Unlike the original contractor, Bill's crew took care to minimize the mess by hanging drapes on the entrances to the kitchen that kept dust and debris within the kitchen. They managed to take down and reinstall the cabinets without a scratch. All this was done in less than two weeks including the county inspections. |The whole process was expensive, but now I have a kitchen I can use safely and enjoy. The only person willing to tackle this job was Bill Gmeinwieser. If he takes off his shirt, you might see a set of wings. He was the angel that made things right. |

Description of Work: After waiting for 3 months to be contacted, I contacted them to find out the deal had been cancelled because "it was to popular and they would lose money". They were not responsive and if I had not contacted them I would have lost the fee I had already paid.

Description of Work: Mark was very helpful. He quoted a deck price of $6730, but did not give a quote for the sill repair work that we would need first. He said that he would e-mail the proposal but did not. We went with another company and did not pursue Horizons, but if we had not found another good company, we probably would have pursued Horizons.
