 + 0 moreResearched the desired items online and using Comsumer Reports and other reviews. Over several months compared prices and after sales services at local retail stores. I had the models selected before going to the store to make the purchase. I asked for and received help from the sales person selecting a sound bar to meet our needs. During the installation, the Geek Squad identified several problems. They resolved the problems they could and described the problems that were the responsibility of the cable company (faulty HD set top box). They explained the operation of the components and set them up according to our preferences. We asked them to slow down and to repeat the steps so we both could practice the operations. They accomodated us without blinking. The system was fully operational when they left. They were knowledgeable, personable and neatly dressed (Geek Squad uniform).
Description of Work: Bought HD TV, Blue Ray DVD player, Sound Bar, cables and warranty Geek Squad installed & setup the components

Description of Work: I bought a 70 inch flat screen TV (Sharp brand) from their home theatre dept. and took out an expensive warrenty policy. the set blew up about 6/29/12. I spent a long time on the phone with Geek Squad on hold before I got a real person. They told me that it would have to go to a 3rd. party outsourced repair center and I would hear from them. A couple days later I got an email from someone from A1 Repair service and I called him as instructed. When I explained the problem he told me that I would have to take the 70 inch 50 Lb. TV off the wall and send it to him and he would determine what needed to be done. When I told him that it was more than 6 feet off the floor and what it weighted he said he wanted no part in getting it down and sent an email to Best Buy declining the assignment. I then spent several days calling Geek Squad only to be told that this was a 3rd. party repair. I finally went into one of their stores and spoke to a real person but he had a hard time getting Geek Squad to respond. There is much more to this story, but it has now been three weeks and I still have not gotten Best Buy to fix or replace the TV.They told me they had ordered the wrong parts and had them shipped to my home. When they learned they were the wrong parts, they had to send someone to my house to get the parts back, but could not send anyone to fix the TV.I really doubt I can ever buy anything of substance from them again and certainly would not want to buy one of their expensive warrenty plans.I see in the Wall Street Journal that they have been laying off Geek Squad employees and outsourcing their repair work. This is obviously NOT working for them and until they get things back together, I will be staying away from Best Buy.

 + -1 moreI was pleased with the young lady that took care of us at Best Buy. She was well trained and knew what she was talking about. If she didn't know something she knew where to find the answer. I love to cook and the new stove is a delight. There is an oval burner in the center that can also be a griddle.
Description of Work: We went to Best Buy to pick out a new stove/oven. We purchased a GE Profile stove with dual fuel conventional and five burners. They delivered the stove and I did take out the extended warranty.

 + -1 moreTHIS COMPANY WAS BAD. THEY TOOK MY COMPUTER IN RIGHT AWAY AND IT DID GET DONE QUICK. HOWEVER, THE WORK THEY DID WAS A PROBLEM. HEY DIDN'T DO A VERY GOOD JOB BECAUSE MY COMPUTER IS NOT ANY FASTER AND THEY MESSED IT UP.
Description of Work: THEY INSTALLED AN INTERNET CONNECTION IN MY HOME AND ALSO TRIED TO INCREASE THE SPEED OF MY COMPUTER.

 + -1 moreBEST BUY DID ALL THE WORK ON TIME. THEY ALSO HAD GOOD PRICES. THEY COMPUTER WORKS PERFECTLY NOW AND IT'S AS GOOD AS NEW.
