The refinishing went smoothly, the guys were on time, professional, and very curteous. The floors looked great. There were a few issues with the stairs and two very small spots on the floor. When I called their office about these issues, they responded within a day and tried to correct the problems. My dissatisfaction is with the stairs. It looks to me like the stain is darker on each corner side of the stairs. It has become a minor issue as time goes by. Overall, I am satisfied with their work. Their price was rather high but I decided to hire them because of the high ratings on Angie's List.

I had a particular type and cut of tile I wanted installed, but I was struggling to find installers willing to do something so custom. DJ arrived promptly for our estimate, grasped the nature of my request, and clearly explained the pitfalls. When I accepted their bid, they arrived beyond prompt. They also put particular care into tarping my belongings and protecting the flooring that wasn't being replaced. Before beginning, we walked through the project once more. Concerns were once again expressed, managing my expectations. The project took place over 3 days. Considerate of their early arrival on day one, I awoke to find them parked and waiting for the scheduled arrival time. The end result exceeded expectations in terms of quality and precision. I spoke with several representatives, from the estimator, to the project manager, to the tiler, to the woodworker, to billing: all were completely on the same page. Prices were a little high, but it's the most professional experience I've ever had with a contractor, and money well spent. Definitely working with them again in the future.

DJs was very thorough in taking measurements and reviewing the work before providing the bid. Bid was competitive (we got three bids) and we agreed to move forward with DJ. We agreed to start the work the following week on Monday, and they wanted to bring the strip on Friday to let it acclimated to the humidity and temperature of the house. We were having a dinner party at the house on Saturday and gave them some options (finished basement, taking it upstairs to a bedroom) and they said no problem, they'd bring a sealed wood that wouldn't require the acclimation. I have since learned that this was Ten Oaks Red Oak Six Side Seal wood, which I suspect cost more than they originally scoped into the work, but really appreciate the extra mile they went. They worked for a day and half to remove the existing floors (the tile was not on cement board, but directly affixed to the subfloor). Once the floor was prepped, installation went quickly. They installed, and then finished the floor. Total project was 5-6 days (last day was only a few hours to fix a few things and move the furniture back). I had a few issues that they fixed when we called them out (door threshold was sticking, needed a board end installed) and fixed them without issue. Each of the crews put up plastic and cleaned up as they went along. A lot less dust than I've had doing similar work with other contractors.

We got three estimates on hardwood flooring for the first floor of our house to replace existing carpeting. In providing their estimate, DJ Floors was very good with their pricing as well as in providing us with excellent advice in selecting the type of hardwood to be installed. We were shown a number of different brands of flooring and given samples to take home when we visited their office. They followed up on their estimate but exerted no sales pressure to buy. When we made the decision to go with DJ Floors, they were very accommodating in scheduling the job. The installation of the flooring went very smoothly with DJ Floors keeping to their promised schedule. The installers arrived on time each day and left at about 5:00 p.m. They were very careful with the installation and in moving furniture around. Politeness and professionalism are two words that come to mind about the installation crew. We're planning to install hardwood flooring on the second floor of the house next spring and will definitely consider DJ Floors to do the job. We are very pleased with the Mirage hardwood which comes from Quebec.

We had an excellent experience with this company. From the initial quote (which was more than reasonable in comparison to the 3 other quotes I had received) from the owner DJ, you were immediately put at ease and explained the process. I had chosen them because I had bought my tile at a place called Porcelenosa in Bethesda, MD. They were the company who installed the displays for all the different bathroom designs in the showroom. That allowed me to see multiple examples of their work and how familiar they were with the products. When demolition crew arrived, they hung plastic sheeting to minimize the impact to the rest of my home during the work and were always careful to not leave any trace when they were done for the day. As a curious homeowner the crew was always happy to accommodate my questions about the process and it being my first bathroom renovation I had a lot. The company did not try and cut any corners, they in fact went out of their way to go above standard requirements to make sure what they installed would last. The owner DJ was a very very hardworking guy and instilled in his workers that the work be done correctly, exceed expectations, and leave a satisfied customer. We most certainly were.

Due to a a/c leak, I needed my living room hardwood floors replaced. DJ Floors came out and measured the room, and gave me an estimate which was lower than other companies I consulted. I chose the Somerset Natural Red Oak. The install took two days, one to remove the old flooring, and the other to install the new. The crew did a great job. They were very polite and professional. They took great care, and the seams between the boards are extremely tight. I'm very pleased with the flooring as well. The graining is very attractive, and I think it looks much better than the samples. I would definitely use them again.

I called for an estimate for replacing my carpet with a hardwood floor. Magnus came out to take a look, showed me the kind of wood recommended, and sent me the estimate by email later that day. The estimate was quire reasonable, so I accepted it, and we chose a date. Materials were delivered a couple of days prior to the installation date. The workers arrived on time, sealed off the work area, and got to work. The job was done beautifully in one day. The floor looks fantastic. All cleanup was done thoroughly. An excellent experience.

I recently purchased a row home with hardwood floors in the living room and bedrooms. Their estimate price was reasonable, and they were flexible about what kind of stain, and whether or not I wanted them to do the shoe molding. They did a test patch first to show what the floor would look like after sanding, then asked what color I wanted and demonstrated what it would look like. They asked what style of finish I wanted (satin/semi-gloss/gloss). They use low VOC products, seal off any areas they aren't working on with plastic sheeting to block dust, and use sanders with a vacuum built in to catch dust as they sand. They also went through and vacuumed when they were done. I have asthma, so I really appreciated the low VOC products, and the effort they went to to reduce the amount of dust. I had them install shoe molding, too, since there wasn't any when I bought the house. It goes very well with the floors color-wise. They were polite and professional throughout. I would definitely recommend them!

First, the company is not punctual. As anyone doing renovations knows, scheduling a mix of different service providers can be tricky because when one doesn't meet the schedule others get jammed up. I had scheduled DJ floors weeks in advance. I'm sure in their minds they had a good excuse but the start day was delayed by one day, without any notice. Having said that, the workers did an outstanding job on the floors and on a banister. There was a problem with the banister in that they'd asked me to choose among three stains and when I chose the lightest one they were unable to bring all parts of the banister to that color, leaving me a banister with three obviously different colors. I told them to redo it to make the banister a single color stain, which meant going darker. OK, they took an extra day to get it right. And the floors are gorgeous. I was so pleased with the work, in fact, that I wanted them to re-do floors in two additional rooms that had recently been refinished by another company (which was unavailable for this latest project). DJ was going to charge about $1,000 which seemed quite reasonable. The DJ front office, however, then wanted to charge an additional $350 for moving furniture from those rooms. That would be a bed and two dressers, about ten minutes work to move the furniture from one room to the other. I said "no". To me, trying to charge 1/3 the cost of floor refinishing for a very simple furniture moving task is price gouging. Others may disagree, I suppose, depending how they value their money. I give DJ an "A" for quality of service but an "F" for their front office customer relations.

Highly professional, extremely competitive price, and great work. The DJ Floors crew was always punctual and was able to complete the project on time. I will likely go back to DJ Floors for future projects and highly recommend their services.

DJ Floors did a terrific job. They were organized and neat and they communicated with us at the end of each day( a four day project) to let us know when they would be back and what the next steps to be done. We found the daily updates to be extremely helpful as we remained in the house during the project. The project was completed in the 4 days, as planned, and everything looks brand new. I was particularly impressed with the finished shoe molding work, the ends were returned into the wall with no exposed ends showing, a great attention to detail in my opinion. In the end, we even hired them to move the furniture and refrigerator back into the house as we didn't want to risk doing any damage to the beautiful new floors. They made it look so easy and was well worth the money. My wife loves the finished project, "Happy Wife - Happy Life!!".

From start to finish, we were very happy with DJ Floors. Renata provided excellent customer service. She answered all of my many questions, was always responsive in a timely fashion, and was friendly throughout. Everything was done when they said it would be done- estimator was on time, estimate was sent on time, work began on time, and was completed on time. My floors are beautiful and the ease of the whole process is much appreciated. I would absolutely recommend them!

DJ Floors provided the service promised. They were prompt, reliable, and courteous from day 1. My family and I were away for the week on vacation. DJ floors not only took care of the job, but took great care of our furniture and property. Upon our return, our new floors looked awesome, and our furniture was back in their original position like we never left.

I am extremely pleased with the job done to my kitchen/bathroom. First of all, their estimate was about $800 less than the next lowest estimate I had previously received. Secondly, they were able to do the job about a week or two before anybody else could get to it. Thirdly, they finished the job of removing the old tile and sub-flooring AND installing the new in less than 9 hours. They took great care in moving my appliances to avoid scratching the new floors and removed all of the demolition materials from my property as soon as they were done. Again, I am extremely pleased with DJ Floors and am already recommending them to family and friends.

They were very pleasant. They came out and left the wood so it could adjust to the temperature in the home then returned in 7 days to start the work. The only problem I had with the company was that they took the metal stripping off the front of my dishwasher and did not replace it causing me to have to reach out to Sears to get this work done.

My room was bigger so I paid about $400 more. They did a good job.

We had a great experience with D.J. Floors. Everyone was very professional and pleasant to work with.They worked with us through unexpected changes in our project. As part of the project our furniture needed to be moved. Everything was handled with great care. They completed the work as scheduled and went out of their way to make sure everything was cleaned up at the end of each day. The finished product is beautiful. Their recommendations for stain and commercial grade polyurethane contributed to the overall appearance. Our floors were damaged in many places and their refinishing corrected all of those issues. We are very pleased with our floors and our experience with D.J. Floors.

We were very pleased with our entire experience with DJ Floors. They were very patient with us in their office when we were taking time to choose our preferred flooring. They came out quickly to measure, and we were able to schedule the work to begin within a couple of weeks. The employees who came to do the work in our home were very professional. Everything went well, and we are happy with the finished product. I would use them again.

From beginning to end, DJ Floors was wonderful to work with. From the initial estimator to the final installation, all of the staff were courteous and always prompt. They even worked on Memorial Day to finish the job! I cannot say enough great things about them. Danielle and Renate in the office were extremely professional and prompt. All of them were very helpful. I will not hesitate to hire them in the future. Too bad I hired another company to install other flooring in the house - they have been terrible!

In February, 2015, DJ Floors installed Mirage floating Hardwood floor in our family room over asbestos tile flooring. We are delighted with the look and feel of the finished product. From start to finish, our experience with DJ Floors was professional and friendly. At every stage, the communication was clear and cooperation with questions and timelines put us at ease. On my initial visit to the DJ office, Daniele Chiscop, who was very knowledgeable about flooring issues listened carefully to our needs and clearly explained our options for covering asbestos tile. We chose the Mirage product but were concerned with choosing the right color. Again Daniele was helpful and made sure we had the samples to bring home to make a decision. Magnus was very prompt and professional throughout the estimate and installation phase. The cost was reasonable for the high quality of the installation and the product.

Originally we planned to tile the kitchen/dining room/hall floor ourselves, so we had purchased all of the materials in advance for the project including 12" x 24" porcelain tiles. Our house was built in the late 1800's so the subfloor was not flat or level, having had wood floors in the kitchen originally which flow well over these imperfections - we felt that we needed a professional to level the floor prior to tiling as the issues seemed to be above our skill level. Ultimately we decided to contract out the whole job including the tiling. We recieved a bid from three contractors before starting the job. DJ Floors gave a competitive price, seemed to be experienced having a great portfolio online, and was the only contractor familiar with and willing to use the Shluter Ditra underlayment that we had purchased for the job. DJ floors sent Ernesto and Antonio to our home to do the work. Ernesto was the expert, Antonio the assistant - though Ernesto did not speak english it was not a problem as Antonio was happy to translate. DJ himself came out to the site every other day to check on the progress and the administrative staff were an excellent support as well caling to check in frequently. The service was very stong, very personable. The beginning of the installation was a little rocky as we differed in opinion on how to use the self leveling compound however as time went on I came to trust all of their decisions. The job turned out amazingly beautifully - just let them do the job for you (get out of their way) and you will be very happy. Ernesto is a perfectionist, his level of focus and attention to detail is rare and inspiring to witness. The first row of tiles was very carefully planned out prior to installation. Each step of the way was carefully planned and executed. After the job was complete the site was cleaned and the trash was removed from the home - I was impressed by the trash removal as this is not often the case in my experience with such jobs. The overall job took over a week - it was well worth it. I highly recommend this service provider - we have had a lot of low quality work done to our home this past year since our initial purchase which obviously is frustrating; this was a uniquely positive experience that we are thankful for and will not forget.

I hired DJ Floors to put down hard wood floors in my living room and they were great. They job ended up being harder than anticipated because my HVAC had leaked and it turned out the sub flooring was damaged. They quickly spotted the issue and came up with a new plan to fix the floors. Understanding that I was in a hurry to get the floors fixed, they fit me into their schedule even though they were very busy. I found them to be responsive and they were always on time. The floors were beautiful once they were done. I really can't recommend them enough.
