Description of Work: Provided a complete written estimate including all option we were considering. Removed old flooring including moving all heavy furniture. Removed and replaced moulding, Inspected sub-flooring. Installed hardwood throughout 1 floor and 1 set of stairs. Replace stair nose that had some manufacturing damage with no fuss. We are very happy with the work initially. Can not comment on long term quality yet but will be calling DJ Flooring when it is time to have the other stairs and kitchen work completed.

Description of Work: DJ floors in Columbia MD installed hard wood floors for us. The 2 men did very sloppy work and used several pieces of wood that had come damaged when shipped to me by another party. I had explained that I had ordered extra wood in case of this but they had no interest in taking the time to inspect each piece before they installed it. I therefore have a number of pieces of wood with chips and splinters. They also ruined a new paint job in a hallway despite me asking them to be extra careful. Luckily, the company DID send a very good painter to repair the walls and repaint. But the men who installed the wood seemed to be in a big rush and had no pride in their work whatsoever. I cannot recommend them and was very disappointed in the work they did.

Description of Work: Needed a section of hardwood floor replaced (approx. 1.5 ft X 4 ft). I had the spare poly-coated (Bruce) tongue-and-groove planks left over from install. DJ Floors was the first of 5 companies to respond, and with the lowest estimate as well, so I went with them, would use them again if the need arose.

Description of Work: The quality of the work that was eventually done was fine. My biggest issue was that I had to stay on top of them every step of the way, or I wouldn't hear back from them on anything. The "Project Manager" Magnus showed up to assess the job, and from there I never heard from him again - not once - including on the estimate he promised. It was on me to track down any answers or information I needed regarding the estimate, timelines, delivery issues, pricing and execution questions, etc. Poor responsiveness and overall project management in my opinion.

Description of Work: They refinished hard wood floors and installed oak stair treads on ~11 steps. |Awful finish, splotchy stain, they splashed stain up to 3 feet up walls, pushed up stain all around edges of floors including higher than covered by shoe molding. Shoe molding poorly installed with up to 1/8" gap from walls, one piece actually fell off wall. They came back three times to address problems but I finally asked that we cut losses. Upper hall noticeably darker and nicer finish than living room floor as it was done by a crew that seem to know what they were doing. Stairs were left unfinished (raw wood stringers showing about 1 square foot out the side) and the manager said that is what all their stairs look like, stain smeared on white painted stair fronts on more than half of the steps. Started job just after Thanksgiving and finished second week of January. Will probably call a different company to redo living room floor. Pictures available. |I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY.

Description of Work: DJ Floors did a very good job of refinishing hardwood floors thru out the first floor. The staff is professional and knowledgeable. There was no clean up and furniture was moved and returned. They communicated the process to me and made me aware of issues found after sanding and help me with stain choices to cover stains. There is one problem with finishing but DJ floors have promised to resolve the issue. At this time I'm confident that will do as promised.

Description of Work: DJ Floors repaired a damaged engineered wood floor in my kitchen, sanded and stained the entire floor, and screened and applied a polyurethane finish to floors in two other rooms. They were excellent throughout the process and I've already recommended them to a neighbor. | |I'd use DJ Floors again with no hesitation.

Description of Work: Excellent job overall. Arrived on time. Two member team. Polite and professional. Required light sanding and buffing of our wood floors. Became a two-day effort: one day for one side of the 2nd floor of our townhome; second day for the other side. All furniture moved and returned to its place. Price was reasonable. Did have them return to redo two small areas. No issues with the firm on this request. Corrected to our satisfaction. Would definitely recommend

Description of Work: Initially I looked up Angie's List so that I could find someone to redo our floors. I found a coupon that referred to sanding and refinishing. I misunderstood refinishing to mean redoing the work that was already done. When I purchased the coupon and had the representative to come out here, he informed me that was not the service I needed.

Description of Work: DJ Floors was great and showed up during expected timeframe to complete the estimate for refinishing our hardwoods. Unfortunately, the cost after the deal (first 150 sq ft) was too high for us. It may be the going rate, but it was too high for us to make it worth our while.

Description of Work: Refinish existing oak flooring - lightened, fixed damp spots. Looked like has just been put down - very detailed, work. Great job...
